LoL... Me and a few friends were on US137 and killed US137 as he tried to pull the same stunt on us... He had no weapons, so we killed him in order to shut him up... Thank you US137 for donating your pair of NVGs... Serves you right for running strait into a well armed group prowling Cherno...

Hmmm, well if you grab some whiskey and some franks, I wouldn't mind taking the distant deer stand to your left... The only thing left is some girls to entertain us... Hmmm, you don't know any that we could kidnap do you? -

Man, I'll give you a tent and camo for your guns... -
Freefall, I support you in your statement. People have spawned choppers before on my server even when the real one was in the drink...

I think this guy is just bemoaning about how most people use this forum to complain about how A) bans, B) hackers, or C) bugs are ruining the game. Apparently he must deal with those kind of things too often since he is a server administrator. It is true, many posts and threads deal with the above three options, but I also see how people lump in the good administrators with the bad administrators when complaining and making abuse threads. Painting with a broad brush can be such a hassle and a curse... I agree, it would be better if there was no complaining. A complaint-less world would be very uplifting, but as things are, there are rules and there will be rule breakers, both on the administration side of the server and the player side of the server. Identifying which side was at fault makes it difficult. Now, I am done on my musing...

US344 Right now entire server teleported and killed.
Dove replied to Jf1ve's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
It is very unlikely that it is an admin that is doing this. I can confirm that the similar incident that just happened on US 137 was performed by an unspecified individual that is not related to the community that operates that server. The manner described in the previous posts are again being seen as I write this... No admins are present on the server at this time... -
You know, in regards to the search for sex, that word was banned from the search bar...

Looking for friendly server to learn on

I love how this is going to turn into a recruitment fest, but in any case... You must remember though, always look at who runs the server because if there is a teamspeak server or ventrilo, or any other third party chat system that is associated with that server, you must investigate. If you don't, you will most likely be killed if you do something stupid as a newbie. -

I was glad for once to be cleaning the basement to make room for my computer and work bench area. Maintaining computers and the space actually saved the day... -
I beleive it was Rocket who compared the Elder Scrolls series to an ocean that is as deep as a puddle. Based on that, you can translate that over to Fall Out being as deep as a puddle since Fall Out and The Elder Scrolls in recent history are relatively the same game...

I wonder if he is talking about that strange guy stuck on the grain silo. As a guy from the TG server, I saw the ghost on top of the grain silo and was killed for looking at it. I also do work over at Cherno. By the way, the buses aren't something I see too often. I've only been killed by out-of-towners who found a damaged bus. Last time I saw one, he did a kamikaze into my friend's tractor and killed out with a giant explosion... -
Winchester or Lee Einfield? What is their damage on humans?

Was that the day of the DDoS attacks? -
well, barbwire kits seem to be the most common thing to pop up in the outskirts of towns these days.

there is one problem: people have figured how to get around that and use the side channel anyways, even on servers with the side channel disabled. As a side note, in the server I reside in, those who use the side channel are considered open season and killed without hesitation.

Jim, the biggest part about your suggestion that currently seems profitable to the players would be the improvement or implementation of the communication channels via the radios. Leaving the possibility of personality and humanity factors alone, the option to keep contacts that are else where would be beneficial for long term coordination. In my opinion, the use of radios for verbal communication would prevent the inexperienced player from broadcasting his thoughts throughout the entire Psychic network. We all know that global communication and side channel communications can be very annoying for players to listen to when they are taking a nice nature walk. Who wants to hear some guy by the shore screaming for his life as he runs from a zombie horde? I will give you an example scenario of what could be used. If players on one server group in a Team Speak server but are divided in different sub-channels, we can use the radios to act as communication between the multiple groups of players that are normally in different TS subchannels. Now, some will cry "no need since you can make whisper lists", but honestly, this makes it easier to communicate between groups that don't all use the same 3rd party chat service. This will make users into radio operators and not worry about the extra hassle of TS controls... I am behind the idea of radios, but the idea of a system of altering your personality or body would only make you worse of a target as too many people would not want to get close enough to identify your personality type... Heck, if you did change in appearance, have your clothes start to fall apart because you have survived for a while or got into things that you should not have... At least then you could look like you have been in the wilderness and make it look like mud or dirt depending on where you have been... Image that forlorn and shipwrecked brother looking to take heart again... as he crawls around in tattered clothes... Just then we would need to learn how to get new clothes which would be strange, just like the raiding of pre-war business attire and such... I would need to consider the personality thing more, as I am finishing up my break before I get back to programming...

Jim, it is nice to see you... In any case, I think it might be a bit hard to bring about the loneliness meter... How exactly you want to change the game could change the lone mountain hermit into becoming a paranoid schizophrenic who rushes into town for food and drink and human contact. We all know that those types can be trouble... Consider the idea of a crazy man coming into town for the purpose of killing humans just to get rid of the flashing red human contact meter. If the guy does not kill them, then I guess we would end up seeing a number of stalkers on the loose... And, Jim, I know a number of our guys would not take kindly to seeing a strange mountain hermit following them throughout the woods.... The idea of radios would be great. I think having relay stations or a system of communication through a world would be nice. Long distance communication is very interesting, but dangerous as well. Have you considered what might happen with stationary radios had to be used... You would end up having to deal with defending a position that could be located in a hot spot or city full of nutty survivors... Well, to be honest, we don't want to start having the hallucinations or flash backs that can come with PTSD. It can be bad enough when we have a panic attack while fighting zombies... We don't need to see stuff that doesn't exist, so consider it lucky that we don't see giant zombies or pink elephants going through the air during battles...

I have been thinking about the Lee-Enfield and some of its downfalls. I can't help but with there was a better version of the trusted rifle and I believe I have found a better option for the trusted .303 Lee-Enfield. I believe that the Enfield Rifle No.5 Mk.1 "Jungle Carbine" would be a good addition to the DayZ mod because the N.5 is a little shorter, lighter, and has a built in flash suppressor. "The No. 5 was about 100 mm shorter and nearly a kilogram lighter than the No. 4 from which it was derived. A number of "lightening cuts" were made to the receiver body and the barrel, the bolt knob drilled out, woodwork cut down to reduce weight and had other new features like a flash suppressor and a rubber buttpad to help absorb the increased recoil... ...was popular with troops because of its light weight (compared to the SMLE and Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I rifles then in service) and general ease of use..." ~Wikipedia... I actually thought about suggesting the use of the N0.5 Mk.1 because I personally own one. I go hunting with it and I find it to be very dependable. The .303 rounds are definitely getting more difficult to find and the complaints against the gun have yet to be displayed in the rifle I own. I just wish I had the bayonet for the rifle...
