    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

    There are no fireplaces yet. They were not mentioned in the patch notes either, in case you didn't notice. Somehow some people have made the assumption that everything Dean posts on the devblog will be true in the next patch - that's not what he promised, he only claimed they were a work in progress.

    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

    I'll admit I've seen better updates, and I've had to scratch my head a few times trying to figure out why they were in such a rush to push 116180, when it was introduced to experimental just the night before, and apparently causes such a massive amount of instability when it comes to client connectivity. (I had an issue just when starting up the game, but just waited for a bit, tried again, waited some more, and then the game flowed fine for the rest of the evening.) However, people still keep posting outright stupid shit on this thread, just like the last one. And before any of you start running your mouth, the following points are not directed at anyone in particular, just made from a brief observation of this thread that once again (!) becomes impossible to keep up with due to imbecile comments: The devs won't read this thread, stop writing suggestions, complaints, rants directed at devs and their colleagues. This is not the place for it. Read the f***ing patch notes THOROUGHLY and check the dev tracker forum before you talk. There is an ancient rule to forum use that says "search before you post" which many of you apparently have never heard of. Did you really think that a single build of an alpha would be bug-free?Get a f***ing grip. EDIT: Just read this tweet someone sent Hicks earlier - some people need to learn that there in fact are human beings at the end of the line, not just a face on a computer screen.
  4. Ok, forums won't let me post pics so here is a link to my Steam profile screenshots; http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197994212616/screenshots/ Found canned peaches, tactical bacon, new cans for spaghetti and beans... It's good to be a hoarder today. Maintenance doesn't usually commence until 0700 GMT (5 hrs from now), and then only the stable branch is taken down. We might see 0.37 on stable tomorrow though...
  5. 42.116140 is only enabled on one or two locked experimental servers, most likely for internal testing. I highly doubt that they'll release it before they push new stable update, or at the very least get the majority of the experimental servers back up and running. The wait is becoming rather boring, I'll admit. And for those who could not be bothered to check rockets reddit;

    If you're gonna shoot first...Make sure you don't miss

    Nice vid man. Personally I avoid Cherno like the plague, but with you on board I might be able to find my bearings in there... :P Only place in Chernarus I can still get lost..
  7. Sorry, I don't take kindly to being called a "troll" or "keyboard warrior" - but yeah, I'm very mad. I'd wish the complainers would use less time posting here so I didn't need to spend my precious time reading senseless bullshit when what I'm looking for is concrete info on the development of the latest build. It's fucking annoying and your perception of "lack of content" is clearly subjective because I (and at least one more person) most certainly don't feel that way.
  8. Ok, since you clearly didn't read it - I'll repost it here then. They never promised you shit, and as I added in my post - judging the quality of a game over a year prior to its release based on how many people are playing it is senseless. Apparently you already spent your $$ so you can do one of two things; keep complaining or aid the development by finding and reporting bugs. I tell you only one of those are going to help anyone. And if you thought it wasn't going to be "this shit" you clearly didn't check any previews that dozens of people already had posted on YouTube. I was fully aware of objects falling through floors long before I pressed the buy button. Were you?
  9. Just proof that most people did NOT read the fucking warning label before clicking "Buy now". There's absolutely no legitimacy to judge the quality of a game by how many people are playing it. Alpha it will remain for close to another year, so go play BP or bite your lip and find/report bugs instead. That is purely intentional. Putting too many people on a project usually hinders its ability to progress smoothly. Communication and ability to work together (not to mention avoiding adding dozens of people to the team that have no prerequisite knowledge of the team or project) is key to making any project work. Even fucking EA with its hundreds of devs failed to get SimCity working properly - even a year after its release.
  10. Tried it out for an hours time now, there's constant rubberbanding and everyone's been reset apparently. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=238172284 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=238175093 Taking out my big jar of patience and digging in...
  11. I think it said something like experimental build 37, which rolled out almost two weeks back.... :huh:
  12. I seem to recall reading a dev post in January claiming they already had most of the code ready for hunting already, but that they were limited to 400 animals before the server started acting up. Not sure where I read it so I can't provide a source, but that tells me they've got most of the stuff in place. But hunting is in a sense a game within the game, which should be tested properly and might need extensive work before its ready to push to experimental. One can only speculate. And hope. :)
  13. 140 characters isn't going to cover a lot of information - but the information is actually coming out, isn't it? Or is twitter/tumblr not official enough? Don't forget that they actually DID say that the update wasn't coming today, and Hicks posted 5 (!) tweets between 8:00 and 12:00 CET today. I call that pretty damn frequent updating... Like he doesn't have anything better to do... >:(
  14. So you're a troll? Hahah, j/k, I figured you might be joking. I agree in the sense that I would love to see realtime updates, but yeah, they are still a relatively small team and adding a person to their staff [only to keep everyone in the loop] is a sizeable investment, no matter how many alpha copies you sell. I reckon they'll get around to having a public relations department (with community contact) dedicated to keeping everyone updated when we get closer to the actual game release and beta, but they may even do so earlier. It's just not right that the project manager (Dean Hall) has to be further burdened with keeping impatient gamers updated on every turn of events. I've been in betas before and never before have I seen such dedication to keeping people in the loop throughout the development process. For the time being creds to the hard-working souls gathering and publishing information from the scattered sources - like http://insidedayz.de - check it out.
  15. Yes the scheduled maintenance for stable branch is finished. That has nothing to do with the experimental branch. I asked Hicks on twitter earlier and he said they're still working on getting it out [today?] Usually, as mentioned earlier in this thread, it's because of unexpected issues appearing. I completely understand that they're not saying anything when they don't have any specifics to offer. Have a sandwich and relax, they never promised you real-time updates.
  16. I don't recall any of the devs saying that there WON'T be an update to experimental branch today. I've seen updates roll in at peak activity times (like 6-7 pm CET) before, so there's no reason why that couldn't happen today. Still waiting for official confirmation though, either way. I've still got hope.
