  1. We've been messing with the settings on the 2nd server and decided to change it to 3PP:ON. We also changed the start times so the server will now be set to 6:45 AM game time when it starts. Come watch the sunrise with us, it's beautiful! Cheers, Sinnaman
  2. Thank you, the hardcore server hasn't exactly been filled yet, but I'm sure that's simply because most HC players already have a steady "home". Hope you get a chance to play at some point, you are most welcome here. :)

    Server Weather and ToD

I've long suspected that the rain is somehow connected to ToD, but there are no settings you can change or view to change or confirm this. There currently is no way to randomize the ToD at startup, you can however set it to be whatever time of day at the server timezone.

    Scheduler-Server Reboots

Oh they're using the old BEC system..? That's a little.. odd...

Changing 1stPP to 1st/3rdPP in Private Shards

Should not be a problem. Just switch and you should have the same character as long as you're using the same shard ID.

    Scheduler-Server Reboots

So far so good... Here there are no <--! or proper <code> entries on lines 2, 3, and 4. That's what's causing your mess. You should rather have the following; <!-- 2 Time Formats Can Be Used:--> <--! 00:00:00 - HH:MM:SS - Example, 02:30:00 would be 2:30am. Messages using this format are sent based on the node's time. It is recommend to set your ACP profile time to the same timezone as the node.--> <--!000000 - HHMMSS - Example, 003000 Is 30 Minutes From When Server Started-->Honestly, you shouldn't need to have any of what I've quoted in your script. They are just useless pieces of information for you now. Also make sure you're using the #shutdown command, not #restart. #restart just restarts the mission, not the server, and should be disabled IMHO.

    Working tool for administration

IF you have a private shard you can use RCON tools like DaRT, but if it's a public server you'll have to deal with the GSPs own tools of server administration.

    Vilayer Rcon ACPlayer interface Standalone

You'll maybe have to stick with global chat, unfortunately.

    Admin communication / global chat

Classy, man. Just do the #login, select channel with ,; and .: and make sure you select the global channel. Then your server patrons can hear you jabber on whenever you like.
  10. Hey Domi, just popped by to say thank you for your great efforts in making this application, it is dutifully used by myself and co-admins. Will be making a donation shortly. ;) Cheers, Sinnaman
  11. Thanks to the great core players and key donations, we've now expanded the private shard to include one more Last of the Living DayZ server! The good thing is that (for now, at least) you can use the same character on both servers. Enjoy, Sinnaman

    Scheduler-Server Reboots

You're damn right, but there is actually one up already at http://dayz.gamepedia.com/DayZ_Standalone_Wiki which may need some help. I'm sure the work needed to keep this database updated is quite extensive. :) On a different note, feel free to use this scheduler script that I wrote for our server, found here. Instead of having cycles repeating itself every four hours (which may displace itself gradually) you're better off setting restart times to fixed times (server local time) to keep the restarts predictable. This script is intended for a 4-hour restart cycle from 13:00 server local time (meaning it will restart at EXACTLY 17:00, 21:00, etc). The script also warns players about upcoming restarts 10 and 3 minutes prior. Jobs 18 and 19 are server announcements which repeat themselves every other half hour. We use these as server ads; "Happy holidays, check out our teamspeak" and the like. You are of course free to add or remove jobs as you like, just make sure that the order of job ids is correct. I hope this was of some help to you as well.

I need to help for my server problems (Loss character)

This may be an issue with the server not connecting to the central hive properly. Even though your server is a private shard it still has to connect to BI to save/load character files and the like. Look into the post mentioned by The Riddler, or contact your server host. There are no respawns on restart on persistent servers. The items respawn when you pick up something, but in a different place on the map. Seriously, turn persistence off until the game developers can confirm that the loot economy is fixed (probably won't happen before february/march), unless you are crazy about being able to use tents/persistent storage. I tend to find the safest way is to connect when the server time says XX:01, as this indicates that the server is indeed up and running and has not frozen on restart. I've had our private shard wipe half the characters on the server when it froze at XX:00 after restart, any players who joined (until I restarted the server again, manually) lost their character. Definitely a hard blow to our player numbers there. :/

Can you help me for persistence?

On persistent servers the loot is supposed to respawn automatically as other loot is picked up/leaves server. If the loot is not picked up, it will remain in place indefinitely (or until a storage file wipe, come server maintenance time). However, as the loot economy is bugged (until early 2015), you will soon enough find that some locations have an abundance (A LOT) of loot while other locations seem completely barren. This is why many server owners choose to leave persistence disabled since you're forced to restart the server at least every 4 hours anyway (this is also due to BI restrictions, not your GSP).
  15. Just proves that multiplay is a shit host. These variables should be available to you by default.
  16. Thanks to all the great folks that have made this their home we are now considering opening a second server (need more money though :P). We've opened up the TeamSpeak 3 server, so feel free to stop by and have a chat with us.
  17. It's been great but also heartbreaking to see the server fill up so quickly, and for all those left out we decided to add 10 more slots! Happy camping, Sinnaman
  18. Hey folks, just looking for an educated response to a thought that has puzzled me for the last few weeks. Our community is currently hosting a DayZ SA private master shard 3PP/1PP server. The private shard is a welcome change from the public hive as we can totally eliminate server-hoppers and ghosting. My question is as follows; If our community were to purchase an additional server - a private SLAVE, and set this to 3PP:OFF - would it still be able to use the same hive/shard as the original 3PP:ON server? Any insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated! :) Sinnaman

    English Speaking/Western European Private Server

Whoa, good luck mate, that's no easy task at all. Getting donations from strangers playing on your server is about as easy to acquire as a smersh vest... If you against all odds happen to give up on this idea I'm sure we can make room for you and your friends in our community server (based in Denmark but gets good pings for most UK users). Check out this post for more information. We'd be more than happy to have you. :) Sinnaman

What's the best server host out there?

I can agree to this to a certain degree. If you buy a public hive server your number of customizable options are a bit limited. We could for one not put in our own scheduler for about two months, causing our restart schedule to go completely haywire. Responses to tickets are indeed quick, but some times we've asked ourselves what we're really getting as a response when we're told to paste logs from what happened when they should have full access to this info themselves. Not being a prick about it tho, all in all very satisfied with Fragnet, uptime's great and never had any suspicion of them being an overseller. Had quite a few different game servers with them and the latency/uptime/price of them have all been satisfactory. They also don't throw in any extra charges to "de-brand" the server or gain access to certain functions. Check out my signature if you'd like to try it out for yourself. :)
  21. This happened to me and my mates as well, on a HC server - just around 11:45 PM (CET)
  22. Hey guys, as a server admin I've run into a few challenges, most of which have been possible to find solutions to online. However lately, an issue that has been in the back of my head for a while has proved difficult to find the answer to. The implementation of timeouts for server hopping is great and all, but in prolonged firefights (ones lasting from 10-15 minutes to an hour) ghosting is still a possibility and a nuisance. I know how to kick/ban people, but how to tell what player is guilty? On highly populated servers people join and leave all the time, and keeping an eye on the player list alone won't give anyone an overview of who joined when and where. The server logs are difficult to read as well, and promising to ban any player caught ghosting seems moot when there is no way to know who the ghosting players are - there are no notifiers to tell a person who killed you, and "check pulse" will in most cases only give you "Unknown identity has no pulse.." instead of an actual nickname. Is there a way to read the server logs to see who just killed who, for example? Or are there any improvements in the works to tell; Who killed me? Who did I just kill?I feel this is a very important issue for anyone running a server (which, for the record, is an expensive affair), trying to prevent and ban ghosting/cheating. Any feedback would be highly appreciated.
  23. Of course I can kick anyone any tme I want, I can restart it any time I want. But I won't because I want people to join the server, find that it is somewhat 'stable' and 'legit', then return to the same server at a later time. Check my signature for the server details - you are very welcome. :)
