Slower Zombies.. Has this been talked about?
Merrick (DayZ) replied to Bricrue's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Slower zombies like how they are now. Head shots only to kill them. Makes sense and gives balance. Hard to hit a full sprint zombie as is. -
People who murder bandits =/= heroes

I am a proud bandit hunter. I murder Bandits on sight. -

Very Nice -
Ive decided Dayz is not a zombie game. It is a massive BF3 open world with zombies in the background. You could take the zombies out, and the game would still be fun, and we would pvp the shit out of eachother. I honestly have half the time forgotten zombies are even there. Pew Pew Dead bandit Fan Boy.

Oh god fanboyz get your dicks out of eachothers asses the dude made a suggestion.

Whats realistic about dying from a gunshot to the foot? -
Delete the super/overpowered weapons please
Merrick (DayZ) replied to Mr Muggles's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The snipers above elektro will never agree to this. They would be in fear of dying and losing all of their goodies. Ive killed a fair share of them, just take happiness knowing that these fanboys and cowards have felt fear and loss by my hands. Its been a pleasure fleecing the scum of Chernorus. -
What percentage of players you meet/engage Alt+F4?
Merrick (DayZ) replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I actually caught two dudes on a roof at over 300m and they sat there and took the 20 rounds i sent down range. Eventually hit them well enough to die. They died as brave men, i salute them. -
To the two gentlemen I slaughtered today...

He is not a bandit or a bad person he is a B.A.N.S.T.O. (Big Ass Noob Support and Training Officer) Without people like him careless noobs would never know to cover their asses better. We would just have multitudes of morons milling about. This man deserves an award. -
Hackers making game unplayable
Merrick (DayZ) replied to OtterDerp's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Had three nice hacker encounters today. Someone was flying a helicopter mustv spawned that in, and then someone killed everyone in the server, luckily we were able to run back to our gear. So eat shit hacker. Then someone spawned in some humvees with grenade launchers on top. Nuked my group of 7, luckily we all abandoned server with only one casualty, and he found his gear again, but then lost it on server change. I hope hackers eventually get found and banned for life. -
Watched a video about that mod, and the zombies do move really well. And the running speed seems perfect for them. And the shambling walk they do is tight.

1.7.2 Opinion thread. All your opinions, good and bad, go here.
Merrick (DayZ) replied to Denuth's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
After hearing about how bad zombie aggro was my friend and i got on to test it. -Zombies dont aggro from THAT far away. Took getting pretty close to get em to go, -Prone crawling you can get inside of 10 meters from them and in their direct eyesight and still remain safe no aggro. (In Grass) -Crouch walking is fine long as you stay out of there view LOS and crouch running works as well if you stay out of the LOS Since the new sound system is in place. All in all it made it so we couldn't just run around the zombies, and it took some fancy footwork to weave and dodge around them, but we got the helicopter loot. -------------------------- Some issues we found -Friend could not see me in server though i could see him, he could see the loot i was moving/taking but not me. -Ran after my friend for a ways, he couldn't see me so i relogged, instead of respawning where i left him by the road, i was booted back in to the position we originally started from, about 100m west of where we stopped to figure out what was wrong. Otherwise seemed stable and fps was decent. Edit: on another thought, zombies need to spawn less frequently. And if you kill/ clear and area, it would be nice if there a a 5 minute timer before they respawn. Or respawn after you leave the area. -
I definitely agree the different suits should offer different perks. I also made a thread on the lootability of these items off dead players.
-
Finding these weapons, losing them, and then going on the hunt for them again is sort of the pull that makes this game fun. The different between an enfield and a 50 cal and the reward of robbing someone of it, or actually finding one in a spawn is hard to replace.

The steam overlay, using six laucher?
Merrick (DayZ) replied to Ingway's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wait, so we are not supposed to use the 6 launcher anymore to update? or Get into games? -
Did a search and was surprised to see no one making this thread already, that or my search options sucked. But it would be nice to see skins lootable seeing as how you can loot damn near everything else. Stripping a body for clothing and or armor or camo wouldn't be unheard of in a real survival situation. Would make getting the drop on a sniper that much sweeter. Knowing you get the ghillie as well. Thanks, Merrick

Lootable Ghillie/Camo Suits
Merrick (DayZ) replied to Merrick (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Now it's not so common anymRe so fixing that would make this mechanic make sense and add another cool item to loot. They arnt that common neither are camo. Maybe 1 in 20 people Ive seen has one. -

I'm done with not being friendly
Merrick (DayZ) replied to VLG Castiel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Amen Brotha, Glad you found a whole new level of game-play. Next time i see a survivor/noob, im gonna voice comm. -
What happens to all the camo and ghillie suits? Plus there are plenty of survivors who kill bandits in self defense. Do they automatically get pooled into the bandit label because they defended themselves. And now they become targeted. No Lootable bandit suit would be cool though.

Rocket: This difficulty FUCKING rocks!
Merrick (DayZ) replied to tact's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's not harder, just more of a pain in the ass. I'm not going to die cause of these changes. It's not scary, it isn't more difficult in any way that would make it more interesting or fun. It's just more tedious and time consuming. I work all day plus gf the last thing I needed was to go from a slow crouching walk to a perminent crawl. Sure tactics and strategy are involved, they were there from the start. Don't go near zeds, so nothing's changed other than turning slow into slower. The people saying this is the best thing since sliced bread can't see a broken update when it hits them in the face. If you idiots are taking Argo, bleading, and running from these awesome zombies, sry but the last thing you sound like is a hardcore skilled player. My buds and me fit into the category of dedicated fan boys who've been playing enough to get to the point that if you see us, your either dying or dead. And we don't like these changes so not all the hardcore gamers like the change. Making the looting zombie part of the game slower than it was previously doesn't add a damn thing. All you "hardcore gamers" commenting how good this shit is sound like your playing the apocalypse wrong. Still not a game to fear the Zombies, never was never will be. This is human vs human survival and zombies are the setting in the background of the gameplay. Doesnt matter how attentive or smart you make them, they arnt half as intense as a good human squad working their way out of a treeline. There's a balance to be had for zombie difficulty, cranking them up so looting is slowed to a crawl is not the way to go. Merrick -
DayZ 1.7.1 Discussion - Others will be locked/deleted!
Merrick (DayZ) replied to Tigerr13's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I enjoyed the Mod the way it was before. Where the zombies had set numbers of spawns. For example at the deer stand, it spawned 3, then when you snuck by (Reasonably snuck by) and or shot the 3 zombies, theyd be dead, and you could go about your business looting. Now its more like 5-10 spawn, ok fair enough. So i shoot them, assuming after i kill those i can loot on my merry way. WRONG, another 10 spawn in and then you kill them, and then another 10, and another 10. Not worth sticking around shooting never ending horde of re spawns, not to mention how watching 10 zombies spawn in the middle of a field ruins the immersion. I think the game was fine the way it was, dunno who thought it wasnt hard enough. I mean zombies acted like they did in lore. STUPID slow under-attentive morons. Now they are like spetznaz on crack. So can we plz bring it back the way it was. Another example is fixing a car in a zombie area. You need to crouch to put on the wheels. You cant shoot all the zombies cause they just respawn on top of you. And when you get up to put wheel on, they WILL see you. Its too sensitive. Just ruins all the other parts of the game that were rly fun. The part where if you get to close and aggrod one or took a shot and called in a horde made alot of sense. Now its just over the top. Looting was fine, zombies were fine. Your not going to fix banditry by taking away peoples guns and equipment early on. We all know why they are doing it, and it isnt for the beans. its for the thrill of the hunt. Fix bugs, but otherwise should keep the game EXACTLY as it was before. My input anyway. Thanks, merrick
