I for one will gladly support its production, just tell me where i send my money and its done. I hope everyone gets behind this and supports you to the fullest ,as you and the Dayz story are a perfect example of what the game industry needs and gamers have answered with a resounding positive yes to your innovation. Free beans for everyone i think.......

To hell with primary weapons says the medic

Excellent idea, can't believe it wasn't mentioned sooner and as a general hoarder/medic when with my group, i would benefit greatly if this was implemented and so in turn would my group. Sure hope Rocket checks this post out man well done.
  3. Since updating to the most recent beta patch and updating all my dayz files, every time I try to join a server all I get is a "waiting for host" message and a black background screen and this is for any server i have tried and it doesn't load I've waited for like 15mins in case it was just slow or something. Any body got any suggestions?
  4. Ok so I installed the BE files and i am still getting the same problem, also I cannot reinstall BE from the game menu options in steam, any time i click on it nothing happen!
  5. Yeah it was refreshing to see a zombie that didn't run as fast as a freight train and hit like one too. I don't mind the zombies being a little fast but certainly not the speed and strength they are now, also it is better to have them walk inside imho not run, especially the way they clip through walls and stuff, going in doors is your one saving grace once you have a horde after you that you can't seem to lose. I'm all for the game been extremely hard but I expect to have a fighting chance at least.

    Give more incentive to explore.

I don't really have any suggestions as what could be added to the game for mid to end game well geared characters, but I do think its something that really needs to start getting considered. Once the major bugs have been ironed out of the current build, Rocket really needs to focus on adding more content that encourages players to log in and keep playing, especially those of us who play as survivors. As was already mentioned,if your not a PK and are reasonably well geared you have no real major goals and little incentive to go anywhere hot-spots and risk losing your grade A gear. I know the focus of the game is to not set any objectives on the player, except the ones we make for ourselves, however once your geared up to a level of self self-sufficiency, the appeal of the game is severely diminished. I know to counteract this some people have set themselves up as server hoping good Samaritans, giving aid to people in need, while this is a rather admirable self imposed job,it is invariably not for everybody. The goal of the game is to survive but once that goal is achieved, what more can be added? Become a Bandit Hunter or Become a Bandit? Become a wandering medic? Horde vehicles and exchange them for loot? Become a Thief? Become an Assassin and take out contracts of revenge for loot(would this be even possible)? Become a trader? Hunt animals*chuckles*? Try and restore Chernarus to its former *ahem* glory?

    Army Zeds Loot

Hey sorry if this was already suggested but I think it would add to the realism, if some of the army uniformed zombies you come across in certain areas and along certain roads, had military grade equipment on them. Like primary weapons still shouldered, hand grenades, flash-bangs,g17s,maps,morphine,GPS,NVGs and stuff like that. I think it stands to reason that some of the soldiers would have been carrying such equipment and it would give people a reason to engage the Zeds instead of avoiding them, especially if there is a chance of scoring some nice rare loot off of their corpses. What do you guys think?? Yay or Nay??

    Army Zeds Loot

It may not be that easy to kill them unless you have a scoped rifle and can do it from a safe distance.Chances are if you have that then you already have decent loot. I'm on about the survivors who have little or nothing an come across a small squad of military zombies at a ruined road block or something and think maybe they have some good loot it might be worth engaging them, it might just be worth the risk. I mean show me a soldier who doesn't carry at least a map and a watch. I agree they could have an increase in health and the good loot would obviously be rare to find on them but it still should be possible IMHO.

Dayz Full Game "Must Have Feature"

Ok I just thought I'd get this topic going in one spot as Rocket has recently asked us in a post how we would like the development of a full Dayz game to proceed. So to that end, I wanted to know, development cycle aside, what "features" do you think absolutely must be in the full game from the get go. Lets go with a list of top 5 or maybe 10 if you prefer. Mine are 1)walkie talkies/radios as loot 2)Lots of melee weapons 3)Zed model dismemberment(just gotta love blown a zombies head off) 4)The ability to fortify abandoned buildings as bases or set up camp/bases secret in the wild. 5)In game personal journals and the ability to leave messages on buildings, walls or the road if you have spray paint or something similar. Ok so these may seem pretty trivial to most of you, but for me having these implemented into the game from the get go, in a manner that really works well, would enhance my playing experience ten fold.

Dayz Full Game "Must Have Feature"

I really like the idea of us all sharing one big game world, and it would certainly eliminate a lot of the cheating and need for server hoping. The game map would need to be significantly increased though.

Suggestion on how to balance Zed aggro and pvp (Long)

Interesting idea and certainly would bring something to a game that likes to focus on realism, as who would fire a gun in a zombie infested town without having to worry about attracting the zombies. Really well thought out idea, I like it.

    Pending Hotfix: Build 1.7.1.5

You are nothing if not dedicated Rocket fair play to you man, this update sounds spot on. Any word on a fix for the bug on the clothing that makes you spawn in the ocean and lose all your gear? I understand your a busy man so any feed back would be more than appreciated, cheers mate.

IF this was an actual game...

I would love to see this mod get completed first so we had something to play while we wait for the official game release of DayZ 2.0. The development route I would like to see taken is as followers One time purchase Stand a lone game(don't want to have to buy Arma3 just to play DayZ) The right game engine selected to allow people with various spec rigs to play the game. Studio Developed with some community impute and feed back Studio and community hosted servers Kickstarter(with a free copy of the game to anyone who donates a set amount or above it)

    Journals/Diaries for writing down Events.

Yes!!! I love this idea and think it could add so much to the game, especially with all the new groups forming all the time. People could fill their journals with all sorts of interesting stuff. It would definitely have a bigger impact on you if you had just killed someone, intentionally or not, and then read their journal and found out something like, they were a decent person just trying to make it across the map to help a friend. Yeah of course some people will leave stupid shit in them and some wouldn't bother with them at all. I for one would use it often writhing down my thoughts on my next move and about major events that I had experienced. Really hope Rocket gets a chance to check out this thread.

"Safe-Zone", don't flame right away, just read!

@bicheichane Yeah that is exactly the sort of thing I was suggesting. Player established settlements open to all the horrors that already exist in dayz

    Adjustments to fall damage needed

I was coming down the stairs in a barn and was about 3/4 steps from the bottom, when a zombie I hadn't noticed startled me. To avoid his attack I went off the edge of the stairs and to my complete shock I broke a leg from the fall. So going by the experience, I would concur that the damage to fall ratio could do with some tweaking. However I do not expect to jump from 5ft with a full pack and not be f**ked up after the fall.

"Safe-Zone", don't flame right away, just read!

While I love the idea of players being able to band together and create for themselves a base of operations in a barricaded house or somewhere out in the woods, an automatically established safe zone would just be a big target for camper snipers and don't really like the idea of using bottle-caps for currency I'd just go play Fallout if i wanted *that* sort of apocalypse. I think your idea is on to something, but like other people have already said it need a bit of tweaking for it to be relevant to the game. I'd be all for being able to collect supplies to build a base or fortify one of the abandoned buildings but it needs to stay in the control of the players at all time and obviously run the risk of being a target for a bandit raiding party but that comes with the game, hell you could even set one up as a trap to lure would be bandits to it and slaughter the lot of them. The possibilities are endless as long as it is all controlled by the player and not randomly spawned in the game or run by militarised NPCs imho but I can see were you were going with your idea, in every zombie apocalypse film humanity nearly always tries to form settlements and safe havens. In dayz it would work best if it was up to the players to do this themselves rather than putting it in as a permanent feature, I say give people the tools to do it themselves an sit back and watch what happens.

    Chernarus Quarantine Force {CQF}

I received a message from you in reply to a post i made about looking to join a group. I am very interested in joining the CQF and have DL TS as requested and also have a mic. I am sick and tired of going lone wolf and would like to join a permanent group to run with. So were do i sign?

    Pending Update 1.7.1 Details

This new patch sounds great can't wait to see how it affects the game. Thanks Rocket for the best mod/game ever, really looking forward to were it is in a few months. Hope you got a rise off BIS you deserve it man!!
  20. Hey have been playing the mod quite a bit recently and would really like to get involved with a permanent group as I have been just flying solo so far. All my mates are console gamers so none of them play the mod and with the upcoming patch disabling side chat its going to be very difficult for me to try find a group in game. I play the game most days and at various times depending on my schedule. I don't have Skype or Muffle or Team-speak but I do play on steam and would consider getting a mic to use team speak if I find a good group to join. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I sure would appreciate it, nice1

    A realistic banditry "punishment"

I agree, once most of the kinks are ironed out i can see little communities forming and enforcing their own laws on the servers especially if it becomes possible to build bases or take over towns and cities. At that stage it is very likely we will see the formation of a clan of law-men/bounty hunters to patrol different servers. Most people are not trained for these situations and would generally try to band together to survive and avoid the lawless gangs/individuals preying on travellers of the wasteland. You see it in every post apocalyptic film ever made.

Humanity System - Rocket, have a minute?

How about not giving the armbands to bandits but giving something to friendly players that would show other friendlies that they are not hostile thus doing away with the shoot on sight mentality. If you have someone in your sights and are unsure of them and then you see them with the friendly armband/skin so you don't shoot(if your friendly yourself that is). Don't make bandits stick out, just make it easier to spot friendlies especially with the side chat been removed completely soon communications will be a lot less active so any visual clues could be life savers.
  23. Col.Hannabal Smith

    A realistic banditry "punishment"

How about literally putting a bounty on a Bandits head that followed them even if they hopped servers. Basically we would get a message in the chat window saying something like "SurvivorKiller47 is online current bounty on player is 500 humanity points". I'm not really sure what the reward would be but it could work both ways, bandits would get a notice if famous Bounty Hunters were online. It would certainly make things interesting IMHO

20 words or less: Super-Low Humanity Detection

Yes! While I welcome the thought of been able to identify potential Bandits, how would it work for Bandits themselves travelling in a pack? The sound of all those heartbeats would be annoying for them I presume. It might actually act as a deterrent because of it.
  25. Col.Hannabal Smith

20 words or less: Spawning without a weapon

YES But give us basic survival supplies i.e, a melee weapon,a pack of matches,a hunting knife, some navigation equipment as a substitute.
