So I have been wondering about this since the rain update. I love the rain and the thunder and lightning. I was playing in a daytime server this evening and was running into Berezino from the south during a rain shower, when I spotted this. I was super excited to see this (I have a love for all types of weather phenomenon). I am hoping maybe they can make it a little brighter and more distinguished. I am in no way complaining or asking the devs to work full time on rainbows. It's just a curiosity and it really adds to the natural feel of the game. I was also wondering if anyone else has spotted any rainbows in Chernarus? Here are some shots I took of a double rainbow last year outside my front door. Just for reference. ;) This is an untouched image. Have you ever seen a full double rainbow? Stunningly bright color there.

Nicely done Irish. I was speechless..............then i lol'd. (edit) Afterthoughts : After I went back for seconds, something in that first line caught me. How do you come upon a man that has you cornered..................? Good story anyhow.

So I was playing with a buddy and got glitched out of a window and fell to my death. Upon respawn I met up with another freshie who told me he had a few friends waiting in Kambi and they were trying to stalk and kill some bandits in Elektro with a bambi army. Long story short we get to Elektro and right away start to hear tons of gunfire. We locate the bandits hideout by the gunfire and then once we got closer, a lot of dead bodies in the street and around the building. They were in the machine shop across from the hospital. I saw a body with an M4 and decided to try for it. I got the rifle, it had a loaded mag in it. The dead guy also had 2 hacker stacks of m4 ammo. I have never seen this in game or on a vid. I would just like confirmation that this could only occur through hacking. Here's a screenshot of the ammo stacks.

If it's an exploit I would think the best thing to do would be to get screenshots and make a bug report and notify the Devs.

Cant see map, indicatiors, eat, find water... Help

The sunrises in the SOUTHeast and sets in the SOUTHwest. Just thought I'd clarify that. The sun is always to the south. If you get lost in the woods, run towards the sun and you'll find the coast eventually. Some disagree with the use of 3rd party maps but since it's available all over anyways I'll point you in the right direction. http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarusplus Use at your OWN discretion. I open the map (i don't use it anymore) in the Steam Community (default Shift+Tab) web browser. Some players set it as the home page that way as soon as you open the browser it loads the map. -
I don't really see how you can say that. I have over 300 hours in the SA. I have never seen or had ANY ammo stacks that big before and neither have any of the guys I play with. Just not sure how ALPHA explains or rationalizes this. Thanks for the input though.

Not sure if you mean me or the guy I found it on. When I picked it up it was ruined. Just want to know if these are hacked ammo stacks or is it like the poster above said and just a bug/glitch.

My buddies and I play in a server regularly that has a server message that looks like direct chat in-game. Something like (Sniper007): I can see you, turn around slowly. The first time I saw it i was freaking out, ducking for cover. Then once I was in cover I looked at the player list and there wasn't even a player with this name. I knew instantly I had just been admin trolololold. Good Times.

Ever consider not engaging the 2 armed players. Maybe just waiting in a bush until they leave. Try to scout high traffic areas for a good while before just running up to them. Wells will always be a place where noobs camp just to get kills. I suggest instead of running willy nilly in high traffic areas, you and your lass get your ass off the coast until you have a means to defend yourself against these baddies.

Typically bolt actions and revolvers. Semi-autos and Autos.....not so much. I love Walther firearms. I am thinking of getting the wife a P22 sometime soon. Can't wait to see this classic piece in the game.

Anyone else willing to test this? I may if I remember. Next time I spawn I will try to remember, test, and confirm. -
Careful to all players when logging out
SuPaFuNk replied to MrMike_1981's topic in General Discussion
Me and two of my good buddies played for 7 hours on stable branch last night. We each experienced 1 lost session and occasional heavy desync. We do not logout, we keep running or if inside find a door to test. Once shit synced up again it was usually an hour or more before the next desync/lost session. I see tons of players lose session around me yet I only experience 1 out of maybe 5 lost sessions. -
So I posted this in another thread slightly off topic. I am really interested in what others think of this idea/scenario. Let your imagination run free on this one. I am also reminded of this awesome conversation I had with this good friend of mine about wildlife vs zombies. We started talking about hordes of zombies in the cities and how close the devs are to implementing wildlife mainly the predator/prey groups. I had 1 really awesome scenario play out in my mind that lead to a really interesting question. If a mass human extinction were to occur I believe the large predator groups would thrive i.e Bears, Large cats, Wolves. So say a mature black bear is driven into an urban area (insert your logical reasoning here). In said city there is a mass of zombies in the area that the bear's nose leads him to and a bear vs zombie battle thus ensues. I think this would be something really immersive to witness. How cool would it be to "friend" a black bear because you helped him fight off the horde. My final thought on this was ...How many zombies would it take to kill a fully grown black bear?

Seems plausible. I'm not big on KoS anyhow but at the same time aren't you running the risk of wasting all that time to find ruined loot and gear. I'd rather recruit that player over there and just make him do the looting for me while I "watch his back". ;) -
I noticed that the first time I played after the patch it was constant lost sessions and trying to rejoin and then incurring the log in timer. Then I noticed that the second time I played I had no issues whatsoever other than the horrible lag that accompanies all the players that do get the lost session thus a mass boot from the server. Seems possible to play. I advise a lot of patience on logging in. It seems like it's not doing shit but it is. let it sit on the please wait or waiting for host screens for a good while before backing out to try again. This seemed to be my issue. I was so used to the game loading really fast that I thought something was wrong on log in but the server response is just really slow.

A year ago you probably would have killed it too. But now you see it as another life form trying to survive in an environment unlike anything you or it has ever known. Bears are highly intelligent and I wouldn't put it past a mature predator to realize it's life has just been saved by a human that probably would've killed it a year ago. I'm not hardcore on this or anything it was just a convo I had with a buddy and figured I would share it here and see how many folks agreed this would be cool. And I'm not talking about actually friending the bear. I just think it would be completely badass and totally immersive to have Wildlife vs Zombie encounters occasionally. I wouldn't want to see it in every town I go to or even every time I play. Ultimately I just want the predator groups to be ruthless. They are not infected, they are living, thriving animals that will fuck you up on a whim.
-
Now that's using your imagination. I picture it like this. Or maybe this..... ^^^ I could totally craft that saddle. Bears are not the only option here. Let it floooooow.
-
And I'm also kind of thinking of a bear that is being pressured. Kind of like we are being pressured and maybe doing things we wouldn't in normal circumstances. Edit: Maybe black bear wasn't the right choice for this ( I just randomly picked a bear i thought might be common in this part of the world). After a little research it seems that a much larger and more aggressive bear is more common.....the brown bear.
-
But bears have ridiculously thick fur, skin and subcutaneous layers. Not sure how they could infect him if they can't break his skin.
-
I actually like this idea alot. You would have to gather extra food or maybe he could hunt on his own.
-
Look at those claws. Your throat meat would be like 70 degree butter to those things. I hope my DayZ toon looks just like that one day.
-
Not saying that you could actually "friend" the bear. I'm pretty sure I did hear about a companion group of animals though (horses, dogs). I think it would be badass to have a bear for a companion. He would be like a watch dog but WAY fucking bigger. :D

I have 291 hours of SA gameplay and I have experienced a total of 3 broken legs. Only 1 time was from bullets (double barrel blast), and those lamers tried to lull me so once they broke my legs I ranted and raved at them until they killed me. The other 2 were from fooling around on ladders I shouldn't have been (lesson learned). Think of DayZ like going to school. The more often you are there and the more you experience the more you will learn and the more you will take from each situation. The lesson to be learned here is : How not to break your legs before you have acquired a means to fix them. And yes, one of the times I broke my legs I spent 90 minutes searching a highrise apartment. Fortunately I found a means to heal myself or I would've spent another 90 minutes searching the next one in line.
