I second this. It needs to get fixed and it has to before the release, but I'm sure they will get arround to it or atleast improve it. Right now I have it set super low and turned smoothing almost completely off which helps but its still hard to get used to. The slightest movement goes suuuper fast while a fast movement goes super slow. It basically goes against everything you get to know as a PC gamer.

Me and my mate were raiding the NW airfield fully kitted out and suddenly the server restarted. No biggie, happens from time to time so we just found a new one. So I picked one and as I joined it, it said " Please wait" for a long time and I couldn't get in although it was regular and there were slots available. I noticed that on the escape menu of the server, I could see just fine exactly where I was supposed to be but when i tried to close the menu, it would give me a black screen saying " Please wait" I also noticed that it gave me the option to respawn for some reason but I thought nothing of it. So I went to find another server but when that game loaded up I found myself on the beach with absolutely nothing. Just the same on every other server! The game had deleted absolutely all my stuff and i definately know I did not die because the same thing happened to my friend who was a fair distance away from me... TLDR; Server resets, I join another. Can't load it up so I find yet another where I find out I am a new spawn and have lost all our stuff. Why did this happen? I know it's alpher so don't go flaunting that, but is this a well known bug or something to look out for?

Yeah, man. The mentality of some players is basically shooting on sight for a brief amount of amusement. Complete disregard for other players and how it can ruin the experience for them. I find it so much more rewarding to help people out and they are always so grateful! Hey, I'm looking for some people to play with. Do you want to group up? I've got mic and skype. If you feel like it, add my steam from This link. -
In my short time so far in Day Z I have already had several amazing encounters both good and terrifying. I felt inspired to write about them so I hope you will listen! I've already written about the previous encounter directly prior to this one which you can read here: My tales of DayZ part 1 " Uncertainties" Part 2 " Sniper fire! " Still on the road after my previous encounter, this time I was alone. My friend was not with me for the time being. I was very well kitted out and I had a long range scope for my Mosin given to me by the guys in my previous encounter, along with buckets of ammunition. So I decided to go see if something was stirring in the big towns along the coast. Maybe I could kill a few bandits and help some fresh spawns. My journey begins! With help from my trusty compass I head southeast towards the coastline. I stuck to the treelines and tried to be as stealthy as possible. I didn't want any pesky bandits to spot me. After what seems like an eternity I could finally see the coastline. I had arrived outside of chernogorsk, I think. I kept to the hillsides as I laid down in the foliage scouting the area. I scouted for a long time but I could not see any player activity in the area. I moved positions further along and laid down to scout again. Nothing. Then suddenly I hear a shot in the distance. It was very faint and barely audible. I turned arround to look in the direction where the shots came from but i could not see anyone. Luckily they were not aiming at me. I moved up a little bit and after a short while I could hear the shots go off again, gradually becoming louder. It was a consistant series of shots. There was definately something going down. Maybe a bandit shootout? Or just a lone sniper taking out poor survivors in the distance? I decided to investigate and went closer, all the time trying my best to stay hidden and move carefully through the treelines while trying to identify the shooter. I moved up near a barn along the treeline to maybe see if I could make my way arround the field to the origin of the gunshots. I scouted the treelines surrounding the area where the shots had come from for a long time but I saw nothing. Then suddenly out of nowhere I hear a loud crackle and my vision becomes obscured. The colors wash out. " You feel blood dripping from your torso". I panicked and hightailed it to the barn. I ran in zig-zag patterns as the bullets wizzed by my head. My heart was racing wild. with all the luck in the world I managed to make it into the barn. I dragged myself upstairs and began to bandage myself immediately. I was terrified I was going to die. I was almost certain of it. But I would not give up. I was going to make my stand!I pull out my handgun and covered the opening of the barn on the shooters side, waiting. waiting nervously for what seemed like forever but was only a couple of minutes. There was no sign of anyone following me. I could still hear gunshots in the distance. Was he shooting at someone else? Or was he trying to intimidate me? I decided I couldn't wait any longer and carefully moved downstairs and arround the backdoor. I peeked arround each corner to see if I could spot anyone but I could not. I went prone and crawled along the side of the barn. I crept in a row of bushes alongside the fence. No one had seen me yet. I hunched over a small open road into the next line of trees and ran as fast as I could up into the mountains along a row of trees. A short distance up into the forest I decided to prone down to reassess the situation. I was low on blood and because of it my vision was blurry and my color had faded. My protective gear was damaged. I was in no fighting condition. I did not once see the gunman and I had no idea as to his whereabouts. It would be a dumb decision to go back after him. I decided that I would focus on surviving for now. I needed to regain some blood but i did not have any blood bags and I didn't even know my own bloodtype. Not to even mention where was I going to find this blood. What i did have, however was a whole lot of food and drink. I kept running through the forest until I stumbled upon a small village on the other side of the mountain where I sat down to recuperate. I ate all of my food and drank all of my water. It turned out to be a little too much and I ended up becoming sick and vomiting, but atleast it seemed like my blood was regenerating. Now I had used up all my food however and I needed to find more. so I started following the road, carefully walking on the hillsides to aviod beeing spotted. I was headed to the next town to find some more food. and so ends my second story of my encounters in DayZ. I can't believe I survived that! this game is so extremely immersive. I became seriously scared in real life and it was thrilling. I know that I could have just combat logged to avoid the risk of dying from the sniper but I had done so in a previous encounter and it just felt cheap. It wasn't any fun. I had decided that I would never combat log again and take the consequences of whatever happened. I find it to be a lot more fun that way. I still have another short tale from my adventures with this same character that happened just after this. I may write about it if people seem interested!

My tales of uncertainties, sniper fire and friendship in DayZ.

Hello, I am hagon94 and this is my Day Z story! I had three very interesting encounters and I was inspired to write about what happened and share my story with you. It may be a bit long winded but I try to make it sound interesting! I hope you will listen and enjoy my story. Episode 1: "uncertainties" After playing DayZ for a short while i was finally starting to get the hang of the game. After some ill fated boat exploring shenanigans and other height related incidents involving drops over 1 meters *shudder*... Me and my friend was finally reasonably kitted out with some weapons we found at an airport. Up til this point we had seen many dead bodies and remnants of previous incidents all over the place but we haven't really had any actual player interaction. Except with new spawns when we ourselves were fresh spawns. We decided to go up into the upper left parts of the island to a big airstrip over Vybor. Upon first entering the airstrip we saw nothing initially. We had come in from an angle that made it hard to scout the area so we slowly creeped along the bushes into the airstrip. Then my face went bleak as my friend pointed out to me over skype that there were in fact a few players in full camouflage and assault weapons crawling through the foliage right in front of us no more than about 15 metres. They had not spotted us yet by the looks of things. They were so concealed that we had not discovered them until now. My heart was racing as i crouched along the bushes and tailed them from behind. My friend was doing the same. We were debating how to handle the situation. They were definately better kitted out than us but we had the element of surprise on our side. I didn't want to make any rash decisions. For all we knew there could be more of them. My friend suggested that we kill them while we had the chance before they spotted us, Beeing the sappy "moralfag" that I am, I suggested we try to make friends with these players. So I took the initiative and walked up to them where i could barely see them in the foliage. I had lowered my gun and put my hands in the air to signal my surrender. I spoke to them over the microphone and told them to not be alarmed and that I was friendly and I had company. Then they turned arround and aimed their guns at me, analyzing the situation. They were probably also looking arround for my friend. Behind the two players I noticed that my friend had taken up a crouching position behind these two players inside the foliage. He had them in his sight ready to shoot from even the slightest hint of agressive behaviour from these strangers. One of them spoke back to me and to my great relief he told me they were also friendly. I could breathe easy as they lowered their guns. I imagine they were quite surprised when they turned arround to see my friend right behind them! After this we decided to team up while we searched the airport for any loot. They turned out to be very friendly and a great help to me and they gave me many attachments for my weapons that I sorely needed along with a lot of ammunition. I gave them some water in return. There were dead bodies strewn all over the airstrip from previous encounters that seemed to have happened recently. We stealthily moved across the airfield, looting the dead bodies and buildings along the way. We didn't see any sign of the killers though. I had to keep my friend in check from killing these players the whole time. He just wanted to shoot something and I dont think he trusted them very much, haha! After looting the airfield me and my friend decided to split up with the other two and go our own way. After a friendly goodbye we were on our way again. And so ends my first tale of Day Z! I have a few others stories that I want to tell you guys if you want to me to write it. I'm truly amazed by this game. Amongst all the bandits and bad sportsmanship there can be in this game you get little gems like these. A few remarkable moments where fellow players band together out of goodwill. There is so much tact that goes into this game it's incredible. I have written about the next encounter that happened directly after this. You can read it here: My tales in Dayz Part 2: " Under sniper fire!" -
