  1. I just thought it would be funny to show the contrast between what I have in my backpack versus my friend. As shown side by side with the magic of sick photo editing below: And yes, the case and ammo box is full of, you guessed it, more bullets. I didn't even check his top clothes. It's all about priorities. I told him you can't eat those mags, yo. But he won't listen to me. Don't ask why I handcuffed him. What do you stuff your sack with?
  2. I was overlooking the boat in Rify from the hillsides on a hardcore server with my friend. He was down low while I kept watch with a mosin, 4 bullets and an ironsight. We see some guys and try to make contact through direct, but they do not show signs of beeing friendly. They keep looking for us with axes out not responding so after a fair few warnings, I take a shot at one guy with what I like to think was a damn nice shot for an ironsight mosin from that distance and he goes down. His mates hide. Maybe they combat logged, we don't know. The server restarts shortly after and we find another. On the new server I see no one in the area. It had around 6 people on it, including us. My mate is down on the boat and I tell him to look my way to see if he can spot me. To check if I was well concealed. I stand up to show him where I was and wiggle for a bit. ( Dumb move, you'll see why later). I keep overlooking the boat while my mate looks around it for loot. A short time passes. I hear a small sound but think little of it. Most likely some rustling of the wind or maybe some ambient noise. But I casually decide to maybe move a little bit and just do a quick scan of the hill to be safe. Then as I start getting up to turn I get a shot right in my side and I see a guy crouched right next to me staring me in the face. He was properly armed and fully camouflaged. He hesitated slightly and I managed to pull up my gun and fire one, two, three shots. All my remaining ones. I miss, EVERY single one of them. Only milimetres away from his body. One slightly to the left, overcompensated on the next shot, very slightly to his right. and same for the last one. Then he kills me. My heart is beating so fast and I'm filled with mixed emotions... On one hand I'm really upset about missing that guy because of my reactive pull of the mouse made it go past target due to the mouse accelleration and poor mouse control in the game currently. I had a chance to kill him and survive in that split second window, but I failed. I like to think that maybe if the mouse was 1:1 like a normal shooter I would have lived. The other part of me blames myself for simply not beeing good enough to hit him. I don't really know what to think. It was all fair game technically. But man was it sour. I hope rockets does gets arround to it eventually and I believe he will. This is an amazing game and it has the power to invoke such strong emotions and reactions in you. My hands are still shaking after the encounter! The game has it sweet sweet moments of which, to be honest, I've been pretty lucky with and those oh so sour moments like these. Do you have any sour moments to share?
  3. The improvised backpack looks pretty cool! You mirin mah FNX? I even got a long range scope and compensator for the mosin. I got the mosin as reward for giving medical aid to a random group in elektro right after a firefight as a newspawn.
  4. So after having been mercilessly KOSed five times in a row in a time span of thirty minutes, I spawned on the coast near electro and were perusing the town for some valuables. I didn't find much at all so I decided what the hell, I'll hit a fire station. Or in other words, KOS central. After scouring through other peoples measly leftovers, I went into the tower. I sat there for a while. Suddenly I saw the tip of a hat sticking out the side of a window looking out towards the roof. He had a stylish brown cowboy hat on and some dark shades. He was wearing military pattern pants and a green hoodie. He had a hunter ruck and a very sexy looking blaze 95 in his hands. I instantly greeted this western looking fellow and he tried to communicate as well. I couldn't make out what he was saying because his microphone was broken. He twitched rapidly to the side, signaling that we should meet downstairs. When down on the ground he asked me if I needed anything and he gave me some food and supplies. I gave him morphine in return as a fair trade. " I can help people with this, thanks! " he said. I complimented this lone ranger on his more than fashionable wear in the zombie apocalypse. It's good to see he too has his priorities in order. We raised hands in a gentlemanly fashion, wished eachother luck and parted ways. No more than twenty steps away from the fire station I hear a barrage of gunshots coming from the firestation. I instantly think of cowboy man. With the speed of a thousand cheetahs I leg it towards the firestation. Upon arrival I see cowboyman laid flat on the floor, his legs most likely broken. He has his gun out, desperately trying to shoot his assailant. He was beeing circled by a guy with a hardhat and a shovel in his hand mercilessly wailing down on cowboyman with a shovel. I pull my fists up and let out a menacing roar like a tiger mother protecting her young cub. I yelled out" GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM COWBOY MAN YOU PIECE OF SHIT, ILL KNOCK YOUR HEAD CLEAN OFF" And chased him away behind a container. I started unleashing blows like Kenshiro from the "Fist of the North Star", unfortunately he had a hard hat on and it had little to no effect on him. He swung his shovel right into my supple unprotected facial area and I went down like a sack of shit. As I laid on the floor helpless I could see cowboyman calling out for help in the chat. " Help me." I'm sorry, Cowboyman. I tried. I really tried. His name was Annie. The Cowboyman. I will never forget. I now wear my hat in his memory.

The short tale of Annie the cowboyman.

Haha, glad to see you enjoy the story :) It brightened my day after having been KOSed all day aswell. It's nice to sometimes meet some legend players like these.
  6. Haha, very well written. I thoroughly enjoyed that story my friend. Beans for you!
  7. I learned that when I pull the mouse slowly, it goes slowly. And when I pull the mouse quickly, it goes quickly. Did you not learn this? Hurr. If I get good in a certain sensitivity in any FPS, that can translate to another. For example Counter strike, Team fortress, Battlefield, Cod. But I am not saying I want this to be an arcadey twitch mouse shooter. I just want simple mouse logic to be present.
  8. Interesting. To some degree I agree with you. But i believe we can still be at an even playing field with the mouse controls and still have it slightly differently. I'm in favour of having a system where it depends on different variables, but as it is now with the acceleration issues I'm having where you pull the mouse fast, it does barely anything and if you do it slowly it will go nuts as I said earlier, it just goes against everything you learn as a PC gamer kind of.

Players in the distance are almost invisible

I've tested it myself from a very far distance and my friend skylining himself ontop of an apartment building. I was zooming in to spot him. On very low to low he is almost completely invisible except for a single pixel floating arround in the distance almost impossible to see with the naked eye. He had to move for me to see him ever so slightly. On normal it was slightly better but i could clearly tell his whole shape did NOT render. on high to ultra I could clearly see his whole figure in the distance. The problem with this is that it clearly gives players with high end rigs an advantage. I MUST play with low settings to even be able to walk through a town to avoid getting that slideshow of a framerate. If only they could somehow separate object detail and introduce a single option to increase player distance rendering singlehandedly that would be GREAT! Then again I have no idea how that would work or if it's even possible.
  10. Not blaming the game man, just stating my dissatisfaction with the mouse mechanics. I said in the thread that I know it was me that did poorly under the circumstances. To some degree you are right. But i also believe that maybe under better mouse control conditions I would have been able to perform better.
  11. The tale of the Orange Raincoat. Haha, good stuff my man!
  12. Haha sounds like fun! Once on the boat of Rify ( Yeah, It's homely there) Me and my mate was so tense after a firefight earlier. I found a new crash helmet and put it on. I snuck up silently on my mate without telling him over the mic. He turns arround, looks at me for 3 seconds dead silent. He raises his guns and fires a full 60 magazine into me. He then let out a huge relief sigh on the mic and said " Duuude, I just killed someone. There was someone here!" I paused for a while. " Dude...That was me." Somehow the mere changing of headgear was enough for my good and very nervous friend to pump me full of lead haha!
  13. I see what you mean. To be honest I don't think it's neccesary but It's an interesting concept. The thing I currently don't like about it is that a slight touch of the mouse gives huge turn speeds while rapid movement of the mouse gives super low turn speeds. It doesn't make much sense even in terms of the system they have in.

Players in the distance are almost invisible

Interesting. I know what you're talking about because I have it myself but I have no idea what can be causing it, sorry. I'll want to hear an answer to this aswell.
  15. So I was raiding the NEW airstrip with my mates and we spotted a survivor in full camouflage with weapons and all. She ran up across the field, I wasnt sure wether or not she knew we were there but my friend has sights on her and shot a warning shot that hit her accidentaly. I turned arround and saw her on the corner, arms down not carrying a weapon. I completely panicked and filled her face up with bullets in a heartbeat. I instantly regretted it. I was going to ask her if she was friendly too. I'm the typical friendly guy and I always ask if people are friendly but this time... I just panicked. And I feel terrible about it. Man, i feel serious real life guilt from that. I'm sorry, random person on NW airfield. You were probably friendly but I was too scared. T_T Please forgive me...

How I shat my pants over nothing

That stuff smells and tastes like absolute crap in my opinion. My mate baked me a super strong snus once and i actually went super dizzy from it. I felt like i was about to pass out and i got sick for days after. Now i cringe everytime i smell someone using it and whenever i think about it haha.

    why good samiritans irritate me

Nope, don't agree with you. The same hate you apply to what you are talking about i send right back at you and your opinion.
  18. Good post! Dont mind the people dissing you. I think its cool what you do. I'd like to play with you sometime :)
  19. Hey man, you seem like a fun dude to play with. Do you think I can have your steam ID and play with you at some point? :)

    DayZ is peaceful

Hello, I'm Hagon. I'm 19 years old and I live in Norway! I started playing DayZ SA a few weeks ago. I'm quite the friendly fellow and my preferred playstyle in DayZ is to try and help new spawns and survivors in need and kill bandits. It's not all black and white however. I always assess the situation and act based on what I believe is the best thing to do. I don't shoot on sight without a warning unless i have high suspicions that the player is agressive. I prefer to play tactically to my best ability and I'm always trying to get better at it. If you're an alright and mature guy with a microphone and decent english skills that lives in Europe, feel free to add me on steam if you want to play with me!

WHY ARE YOU KILLING PEOPLE FOR NO REASON? -.-"

Many of you use gear and supplies as an excuse to KoS but almost all gear gets ruined if you kill someone and will become completely useless (especially after the upcoming patch) So i think that is completely bogus. And as long as you stay concealed this 'they are a threat ' thing i don't buy into. If you stumble right onto someone with a raised weapon, that is a different story. I think it has to do with being able to get some slight amusement out of it without any regard for the consequences it has on others player experience. Just because they can. ' its not me so fuck it lol'
