I've been in CQF for a week or so now and if you're looking for a solid group of guys to play with, then you just found them. Running with a clan gives you protection and help, it takes Day Z to a whole new level. So if you're looking for a survivor friendly clan that makes a point of not shooting everything that moves come check us out. -
How long do people live? Not noobs, I mean the average pro.

I used to look at the "days survived" counter on the leaderboards as something to aspire to, not anymore. With all the disconnecting from PVP firefights and doing it to simply get rid of zombies it's not a true reflection on a characters longevity. I watch my own because its the only one I can vouch is legit. -
OK so I read about all the "broken zombies" before I had a decent chance to play since the patch. Last night I spent a white knuckled 25 minutes sneaking through Vybor with a buddy to go patch up a wounded clanmate. Yeah Z's aggro from a crazy distance compared to before, so you have to be a LOT more careful. This is a bad thing? I think people got used to "John Wayne-ing" their way through the Z's and as such they became almost irrelevent. The "zombies" aren't shambling mounds of deaf and blind rotting flesh, they are supposed to be infected people. They may be degrading over time but they still have their senses intact. Anyways enough of that, my main point is that now the zombies matter. Me and my buddy spotted a cow with a couple of Z's prowling nearby during our trip and we spent several minutes discussing how to get those steaks without getting aggro, loved it! People complained Day Z was turning into a PVP deathmatch, it was and still is to an extent but now ZOMBIES MATTER and I for one love it. I've played for a couple of weeks now and that little jaunt through Vybor had me white knuckled and my heart racing as if it was the first day or two of playing the game. Yeah it makes this game tough and if you hate it so much go do something else, nobody is forcing you to play - simple. Also props to Rocket for pushing things like this, the pressure to "carebearize" the game must be overwhelming due to the ever increasing numbers.

I agree that they aren't perfect and obviously a little tweaking is still needed but its going in the right direction IMO -

Well, I tried to give people a chance before just opening up on them, now thats changed. Yesterday spawned in Electro, sneaking around trying to find some gear, hopped a fence, hopped another fence, just as a guy comes crashing into it trying to chop me with a hatchet. OK, I run. I look back and this ass is now chasing me with said hachet although he now has two zeds for company. I loop around him twice until he has to take care of the zeds who are chewing on him, I make my escape while he does. Now I'm leaving Electro with a lee enfield and a couple of supplies, running up the hill I swear I feel/see bullets smack into the ground around me. SNIPER!?!? Run around a tree to get cover, no more rounds coming in but I do see Mr. Hatchet trying to sneak up on me from about 20 meters away. So 3 shots later hes dead and I'm one murder to the good. Verrrry long story short, I'm tired of being attacked by bandits and dicks waving hatchets about, now I'm with a KOS group and that was the transformation from someone trying to do good, to someone who just gave in and wants to fight back.

and fingers crossed something is done about it in an upcoming update. Its getting pointless to check some places since its so blocked off, starting to make playing kinda pointless when you're denied a fair chance at loot.

OK, I know people bitch about the fast zombies, from what I've read they aren't zombies at all but people infected with a virus that rendes then mindless and craving human flesh. So since they aren't undead (i.e. rotting away) there is no reason for them to be slow, shambling targets to be picked off at will. They are like us only a lot more bitey :)

I read a post a day or two ago that someone wrote about how Day Z could have happened, vaccine in the clouds falling as rain caused the infection etc. I told my buddy about it but now cant find the thread, can someone post a link for me?

Barbed Wire .. Getting really annoying now

So I've heard you can dismantle the wire with a tool kit. I came across some wire in the power station in Electro, had a tool kit on me, but could not work out how to use it. Mouse wheeling etc nothing seemed to give me an option to dismantle it. Anyone know the proper procdure to get rid of the damn stuff? -
Regarding the direct voice chat as mentioned by several players beforehand if I try and communicate through comms and get no response as far as im concerned you're a hostile. Friendly players are most likely to respond (obviously since they want to be well, friendly) So just a tip, make sure your mic is plugged in and working ;)

A little tale I can share with you guys. Direct chat has made a world of difference, previously if I saw a player it would usually be a shoot on sight gunbattle. I would usually lose since I seem to suck at PVP, plus I hesitate in case they are friendly and I didnt want to shoot them. So anyway I spawn in Cherno and in the space of 20 mins met five survivors and through voice chat was not shot at once. I then moved to the outskirts and was scavenging through a barn, I was up on the one side and turned to see another armed survivor on the opposite side nervously waving a rifle around, I told him I was friendly. We then hear gunshots from quite close outside, we duck behind our respective hay bales and I see a new spawn survivor run in. The other guy never reappeared so I assume he heard the gunshots, hid and dc'd. Anyway I talk to the new survivor, point out the lee enfield laying on the level below me, I then give him a clip of ammo and a can of food. We then team up and head along the coast towards Electro, we have added each other in skype and I now have a playing partner to run with during the day. So the point of this long assed post is - direct voice chat is awesome not being a dick to people will eventually pay off

So I read that tents are now going to be locked on that particular server. My main question is that will the same thing happen with vehicles when you hide them?

Can we please get rid of them? They make it far to easy to plot a route into and out of towns. They persist when the zombies are walking on the other side of objects( ie a wall) to me this ruins the tension and nerves of bumping into one or missing one when you scope the place out. Not a huge deal but one I would like to see fixed, other than that awesome job and don't let the bastards grind you down.

OK I hold my hands up , did not know that I was on a recruit server. The "smartass" comment was since a lot of responses are just trolling, which I thought this was. Once again I apologise for being a doofus and appreciate the help.
