When do you get the error message?

Since the last patch I'm having trouble connecting to any server, hanging at "Waiting for host" I can see people in the servers and the server MOTD displays along with server information such as "X has died" but nothing happens. I'm running DayZ through Worrom's DayZUpdater 1.61. I'm running ARMA II patch 94945 I'm running DayZ 1.7.2.3 I've noticed at the top of the main menu there seems to be "> p" Where I'm pretty sure it was not there before. I've never come across this error before, halp.

Extract it and run it, it's an exe file. It upgrades itself. The version number is 94876

There's two things you need to download, If the server is saying your version is out of date on the server listings that is the Beta Version If the server is saying your version is out of date when you're logged into the game. that is the DayZ Version You need the latest DayZ Version. You need the previous Beta Version. DayZ Version is updated using SixLauncher/DayZupdater Beta Version is updated using http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

Most servers are running this version of the ARMA II Beta. Try downloading this and then connecting to a server ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_94876.zip

Nono, not downgrade the DayZ Version, The Arma2 Beta version. You need to be running DayZ 1.7.2.3 And Arma II Beta 94876 which can be found here ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_94876.zip

I had trouble with 1920x1080 and found that changing monitors of all things fixed the issue. I'm not sure how helpful this'll be but if you have a spare monitor laying around it might be worth it

Apparently the latest Beta is incorrect, trying previous beta and will report back. Working confirmed!

@dayzdevteam The servers will be unavailable for a few more hours, due to a maintenance on the Hive, ETA is around 4 PM GMT time. Live updates are available on twitter, just for reference it's now 2:30pm GMT

Make sure you are a) Running the ARMA 2 Beta client b) Running the correct ARMA 2 Beta client version (It'll match up with the server's version) c) Installed the correct patch (I see you are using DayZUpdater, try a force update) d) Make sure that the server you're trying to connect to is running the patch you are on (They all have what version they're running in their server name, eg, UK1 1.7.1.5")

This is gonna sound silly but I havn't played for a few days. What version are we on? With so many hotfixes I'm not sure anymore

Anyone's updater downloading at the speed of snail?

Shwing shwing. Zombie cannon. Make 'em fly away. On a weird note, on relogging it seems to have disappeared and left me a map, compass, knife, matches, watch, blood bag in its place. So the axe is a genie. Even better!

Maybe it was something to do with the "axe ammo" I'm not sure, but I'm not complaining, I'll stick to shotguns for now. Feels more authentically zombie-y when you've got naught but an axe in a barn full of zombies

There's a lot of elitist fury over posts like these. You really need to get over people not being as experienced with a game as you guys. These are fresh players coming in, this isn't exactly your atypical game. It takes skill and practice and patience above all. These people don't want to hear how you "dodged 50 zombies in a row and have ten guns strapped to your face" already, they need tips, tricks and opinions. Not requests to uninstall. "Unplayable" is perhaps a strong word. But when you're unsure of spawning positions, what kind of things spawn where, there's going to be people dying over and over. Making it at last only to find a windscreen and half an inventory of empty tins. It's frustrating. Be a pal. Contribute

I've had this on servers that arn't running 1.7.1 Make sure both you and the server you're on is running the beta patch.
