Is Spy Infiltration wrong ethics/cheating
wingman.edu replied to Dragor69's topic in General Discussion
You do not deserve beans for this. 3rd party comm is completely legit. It's a video game. -
ASUS Maximus VI Hero i7-4770K @ 4.1GHz 16GB DDR3 - 1600MHz (Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer C8) Gigabyte GTX 780 OC 3GB Rev. 2 All video settings (Quality, Rendering, etc.) are turned up to the highest possible option. Latest (not beta) NVidia drivers, running at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz. Game is also installed on Samsung 840 PRO SSD, not sure if big city lag is caused by loading visuals as they come into draw distance? My system is only 1 week old, was running on an Intel Q9450 @ 3.2GHz with GTX 480 previously, and I had pretty bad FPS drops in cities with low settings.

Server hopping has gotten worse. (actuall analysis, not a whine thread)
wingman.edu replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
Server hopping (for loot) is not cheating and is not exploiting. It's playing the game more efficiently. If you join a server that has a bunch of looted buildings, even in a city, chances are as you run through other cities they will also be looted. This is why respawning loot is important, you could run for 1-2 hours before finding any unopened buildings. This is a waste of your time. I've found server hopping to be even easier after the time penalty implementation. Less people are hopping so the chances of spawning into a military base or NWAF to find it unlooted is much higher. 5 minutes is perfect for a bathroom break or to fetch an ice cold Nota Cola Classic. You should try it sometime... -
Not true, game runs like butter for me even in big cities with maximum settings on GTX 780 w/ i7-4770K @ 1920x1080 60Hz...

Spawning in after safe log out or reset with nothing?

You're acting a lot like Jim Carey in your signature... -
GTX 780 and i7-4770K, running on maximum settings without issue. Also, haven't seen rain inside yet. Maybe higher settings it doesn't rain inside?

Spawning in after safe log out or reset with nothing?
wingman.edu replied to Sir Schmoopy's topic in General Discussion
This has happened to my friend twice within the last 2 days, and we've logged out in the same place, at the same time, on the same server. When I log in later it's fine, but he ends up on the beach again. -
Server Hopping has become godlike post patch
wingman.edu replied to ASDF991's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, most of these ideas are terrible. The only solution to server hopping is respawning loot. Currently server hopping isn't cheating, it's playing the game more efficiently. Sorry, I'm not interested in running for 1-2 hours before I find unopened buildings... -
The new login queue is broken. I just joined a server with 1 person in it. Turns out he was an admin on that server farming his own server for loot, because he can. He kicked me off about a minute after I joined. Then I have to suffer the penalty and wait 5 minutes. I think there are other issues that need to be straightened out before this system is implemented. Like how about respawning loot and zombies, THEN implement this system. As it currently stands, there is no good reason to stay on a server that has already been ransacked.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

It's a buggy incomplete world, but man is it fun... definitely a steep learning curve, but after 80 hours total I can say I truly love this game, and I'm really excited to see it continue to improve and grow over the next year. I can only imagine how many hours I'll already have racked up when it officially launches, and then continue to pile on hours. I'm really glad I spent the $30, totally worth it. PLUS the community helps steer development with feedback and suggestions!

No, because then you would always be playing during the day. It's a video game, we should be able to experience day/night/dawn/dusk all within like 6 hours...
-
Edit: never mind

I wouldn't mind night if game time wasn't the same as real time, and I actually got to see transitions between night/day. Why can't a full 24 hours in-game be like 4-5 hours real time? I have this thing called a job that requires me to work during the day, so if I join low ping servers near me when I'm home it's always night, unless I join a 40/40 24/7 day server. Also, why is there sometimes no moon? Is that something that is controlled by server admins? It's just stupid dark without a moon even with gama, brightness, and HDR turned up...

Same here, logged into a fresh start, thought it might have been a hive reset with the patch which I was OK with, but quickly realized that no matter what Regular/Public server I joined it was a fresh start. Even if I left and joined the same server again I would be in a new location with just a flashlight.

Turn HDR up as high as it will go.

Rocket answers to everyone who complains about 3D view
wingman.edu replied to gamer222's topic in General Discussion
I don't understand why there is no much hate against 3PP. People have the ability to go unseen when peeking, and you shouldn't have to reveal large portions of your body just to see what's going on. Ever watch any war movies? How many guys have you seen stand up in the middle of an open window to try and spot a potential sniper? Or lean half of his body around a corner to check if a machine gun is watching the street? I'll give you a hint, zero. It's not like you can shoot while still around a corner or under a window, you need to be exposed to shoot. Plus, it's not an exploit if EVERYONE can do it. This isn't a snap reaction quick trigger shooter, it's slow and tactical... the idea is to stay alive.
