    Giving the v3s gas

V3S tank is 120L (fuel gauge is labeled). PET = 1L (120 times) Jerry Can = 25L (~5 times) Tried PET filling before, it's so so so painfully slow, you're better off running wherever you're going.

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

DayZ isn't increasing the temp of your CPU, it's putting your CPU under heavy load. The increasing temp is merely a symptom or result of increased load. As the game isn't fully optimized yet, and you're running on a 2nd Gen i5, this isn't totally surprising. BF4 is a final build which is optimized for a broad range of hardware, which is most likely why you don't see the same results there.

About the next coming camera angle

Every time you start a new character, you start with nothing of value. It can take hours to get a lot of the gear you want/need. Then you run into a town where someone is lying down next to a window in a two story house in 3rd person, waiting, watching for movement. "You are dead." This is the play style that led to outcry for a new camera. The person running into town above could look over walls too, but this was in no way a balanced encounter.

    Awaiting .57

I loved when .55 dropped with the persistent central economy, it was actually difficult to survive. There I was, fully geared (IMO) with AUG, TTSKO, Hunting Bag, Full Plate Carrier etc, and I was stuffing my face with berries hoping I wouldn't die of starvation, all because we couldn't find a cooking pot to cook our steaks. Finding a bag of rice or can of beans was like Christmas! My friend and I setup a camp with multiple tents, a stone oven, farming plots, we had a V3S stashed nearby, and all of this was valuable because being able to store food and water was important... and then they took it all away by disabling that loot system. Haven't really played since, waiting for centralized persistent loot to return.

    Status Report - 19 mar 15

Server performance has been a constant task, is this your first status report? Melee shouldn't be worked on until the new player controller is implemented. Diseases are coming, and water contamination will certainly be a component of this. (water purification tablets anyone?) Renderer is coming, for all we know they're keeping quite to surprise us, they've done it before (look at the Holiday update) Chris is the art lead, his team creates item art, creating items for cars doesn't hinder the work other teams are doing on actual vehicle systems...

    0.54 Issues

I'm guessing it needs more tweaking... I've had the same issue of being stuffed and hungry or thirsty, pretty difficult early on to get hydrated and energized without over stuffing yourself.

    0.54 Issues

And all those titles are AAA with big budgets and dev teams. DayZ spent its first year with a very small team working on it. So what's your point?
  8. Players are not being fucked over, or intentionally put into unsurvivable scenarios. The game doesn't know that it's spawning you in the rain near no matches or food. The game is not out to get you. If everything you need to survive was given to you on a silver platter, what's the point? The environment is supposed to be a challenge, and this is part of that. Again, loot is in no way final, so I really think this is a pointless discussion.
  9. There is a logical reason for you dying to the elements. You couldn't find matches, and therefore couldn't build a fire to stay warm/dry. It is believable that a person may not be able to find matches in an post-apocalypse environment. I personally would not be able to build a fire in the rain without a lighter/matches, I don't think it's that crazy. And it doesn't matter if you die early, you just start again, hopefully near some matches. Also, please remember this game is still under development. Loot is not final yet. No need to cry because your character in an Alpha version of a survival game died to the elements. You will die in DayZ. If you can't handle it, maybe it's not the game for you.

Tired running around for trucks >=[

Trucks are easy to find currently on west part of map. Friend and I keep jerry cans in our "hands" glitch, when we login we find a truck pretty quick usually, then fuel her up and tear across the map hitting 90% of heli spawns in under an hour. Usually find 1-2 helis. They make the map so small compared to running. And actually did a full lap recently which only took about 15-20 minutes, from Pustoshka to Kamenka, all way way around East -> North -> back West on the Great Main Road, and then back down to Pustoshka via Lopatino and Vybor. Drove right through all the big cities along the way. There were about 15 people on the server, and we were looking for trouble, but didn't see one single person. It's very possible people hear the truck coming and just hide in a building and watch it zip by. It is rather intimidating, especially if you're without bullets.

DayZ Standalone Or Arma 2 DayZ mod?

On a Surface Pro 3? GL with that... really hope it's at least i5 or i7....
  12. Even on a private hive? I thought for public 1st and 3rd were separate hives, which would make me think that a private hive wouldn't change when switching between 1st/3rd modes.

Krasnoe and Kamensk are great additions.

Yea already there, along with a new military base near Kamensk. http://www.izurvive.com/chernarusplussatmap.html#c=82;-37;5

Can opener--handy tool or cruel taunt?

Stone knife is the first thing I make when I spawn on the coast. Indispensable for early game.
  15. Just jog instead of sprinting. You get it over with and adapt for yourself without penalizing everyone else. Problem solved. I think there is still a good balance of fun and realism. Weather and temperature are good steps towards forcing survival decisions, and I think sore feet could be a good way to limit long range sprinting depending on shoe type/condition, rather than a stamina bar or encumbrance. It's too early to be calling for speed reduction currently, we still have a year before Beta even comes around, slow your roll.
