When can we expect gun shots to be heard reliably

Never. Someday my supressors will function. -
Petition: No more randomness in weapons, SKILL based combat.

Bad argument is bad. The effective killing range of a modern compound bow is about 50m, 60m is doable but a tad unethical. Olympic level archery takes place at 70m, 100m and beyond is mass fire range for bows sure you can get lucky, and there are probably people out there with the skill to do it reliably, but that is roughly equivalent to a 2000m+ rifle shot, yeah it can be done but not many people can do it. On the other hand there isn't a long rifle in my collection that I can't use effectively at 100m, hell Ive shot guns with barrels that look like sewer pipes that are still point of human at 100m. -
Actually free floating doesn't always improve accuracy, as I pointed out pressure on the barrel IMPROVES accuracy in some cases heck just moving a pressure point or changing the amount of pressure can increase or decrease accuracy. The affects of bedding can have a large impact on accuracy, far from tiny. Its not just handling, accuracy is dependent on the mechanical repeatability of a shot, if the gun shifts on or in its stock it WILL affect real world accuracy. For proof of this see the complaints about vertical stringing in the SVT40 caused by shifting in the stock during firing. I have used index cards to increase the accuracy of rifles. In the case of the SVT40 the "cone of fire" was improved in the field with chips of birch wood ( I corrected the same deficiency on my friends SVT40 with a dab of acraglass). You are out of your depth bro.

A better fit/made butt sock can make the gun more stable against the shoulder and during firing increasing accuracy by increasing the repeatability of shots (that would be decreasing the cone of fire FYI), not to mention making the gun more comfortable increasing the shooters ability to make accurate shots. A hand guard CAN have a real measurable impact on accuracy with an AR15 or M4, some guns shoot better with a free floated hand guard, some actually shoot better with contact for whatever reason some will shoot great with the contact one of them provides but suffer under the contact from another. That you don't know that indicates you should find another hobby horse or educate yourself. Correcting your repeated belligerent displays of ignorance about firearms is becoming tiresome. The real world of firearms accuracy has some very strange occurrences.

You know I actually agree, the attachment system in game is a bit COD, after all Ive found multiple machine shops and with a bit of work in any of them I could put any of the attachments on any of the guns. If I couldn't get the machines powered (child's play) I could do the work with just hand power. Bring on the realism!
-
Machine shops can be found in Grishino, Berezino and Vybor that I can remember. Realistically a military airfield would have a well equipped machine shop.

Give me this battle rifle and no one gets hurt.

Dayz Anti-Game philosophy, is this still relevant and true?
Franchi (DayZ) replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
Given the size of the world there would never be a last man, plenty of room for plenty of families or "tribes" to live without necessitating they back stab each other to death. -

No, the backstabbing insures that those who have the best genes for backstabbing and avoiding said backstabbing pass those genes along. Natural selection at its finest. -
Remove all long firearms = best kill on sight deterrent.

Ive had people try to KOS with axes and crowbars far more often than with firearms. I also believe most of my kills have been with fire axes. I don't waste bullets on idiots who come at me with melee weapons. -
Regular and hardcore are separate characters. One account gets you two characters, two accounts gets you four.

I don't have enough beans to properly compensate you for that comment.

Did you even look at the pictures? That base mounts as a PU would NO SMITHING. Nearly every rifle will require particular basses for a scope, they are drilled and tapped differently and often have different heights between the front and rear ring. The base from a Remington 700 will not fit on a M77 or a Winchester model 70. Heck the B95 has a proprietary mounting system. Unless you want to make people search for the appropriate mounts for each and every gun that gets added mounting a LRS to the Mosin should not be a problem. About the only thing you have right is that mounting a scope to a flat top M4 is child's play but even then you need the correct rings, the rings from my 700 or Mauser or Howa wouldn't work.
-
I am sick and tired of your plebe tier misinformation, I have told you numerous times before, the mosin can EASILY mount a LRS without smithing. There you have it. The mosins in game have a bent bolt handle, so it would work on that side. The scope can be mounted on the other side for straight handled mosins. Now STOP IT. On topic that same style of mount can work on a SKS

In this thread yet another player dies in or near Electro, they never learn do they?

Construction sites, one stop shopping for everything, always get at least a melee weapon, some ammo and a backpack, sometimes firearms and attachments. -
You can stand up and vault to get out.

Sure if I stand still for the ten misses, then the reload but who would? sorry bout the video accusation, it was demoths video not yours, I stand corrected on that. A pitling 10 mile per hour wind over a 300yard shot with a 22 equates to about 55 inches of drift, combined with better than 8 feet of bullet drop, add in the FACT that the bullet will start tumbling erratically at around 250 yards and you have next to no chance of hitting a person with the first shot at 300 yards from a 10/22 carbine. But whatever. Why follow reason, logic, experience and science. You are right The 22lr is a MAN KILLER effective at 1000 yards! Heck on the box it says it can be lethal at a mile!!!!!!!!! I wash my hands of you.
-
My Father is dead, my step dad (who gave me the wingmaster) lives 1561 miles away, Did I somehow make the 22 hour (one way) drive in under an hour with enough time to spare to pose the guns, take the pictures and upload them? try harder. But I will humor you, even if they ARE my "dad's" guns (they most certainly are not) I obviously have access to them and the ammunition they fire, meaning I probably have fired them. Meaning I do in fact know what they can do. The ballistic chart came from a firearms forum (not a wiki), it is accurate and relevant. A 22lr at 300 yards isn't going to hit me with any reliability or regularity as YOUR video proved, much less ruin my day.
-
The problem with that is that realistically you get shot and you are probably going to die. There is no ER with trauma surgeons in the apocalypse, no ready access to antibiotics. Damaged flesh around a GSW turns necrotic, sepsis sets in and its over. Then again, total realism might drive away all the KOS players, wouldn't be much fun to gank people if a simple stab wound or GSW in the arm or leg could turn fatal. Eh that is a part of a collection, as are the other pics. I LOVE guns.

Not all of them in under an hour. Not with perfect shadow. Not on a semi complex background. Reverse image search them bro. Nice try wiki warrior. Edit: 300

That better? Cut in half off screen to the left savage magazine fed bolt action 410, next on the left 308 howa 1500 (hand built by me walnut stock, black walnut for-end tip and domed Oppenheimer grip cap), From right, Marlin model 60 22lr, 7mm Remington magnum Remington 700, Top to bottom in center Winchester semi auto 12 gauge, Spanish made double barrel 12 gauge, Savage break action 410, sporterized GEW Mauser 30-06, S&W AR-22 22lr, S&W DA revolver 45ACP (with full moon clip), S&W 4053 40SW, Colt 38 SPL, Rugger 10/22 Carbine, Norinco SKS, 12 gauge 870 Wingmaster NRA edition (chromed bolt, gold plated trigger, engraved receiver, laser cut checkering), 12 gauge 870 Express. How about now? (This is the point where you vanish from the thread or claim you were just trolling)

I have first hand experience firing weapons. LOTS OF IT. Here is a small sample of my collection, picture taken some years ago to prove a point on another game forum (MWO hence the NGNG teamspeak used as proof at the time). In that pic 22long rifle (10/22 Carbine), 7.62x39 (Norinco SKS), 38 Special (colt) 7mm Remington magnum (Remington 700), 45 ACP (Springfield 1911), 22long rifle (SW AR-22), 308 Winchester (howa 1500), 223 Remington (bushmaster AR-15), 12 gauge (Remington 870), 40 SW (Smith and Wesson 4053) I have killed animals with all of those save the 38 and the Howa, The Howa I built from the action, new barrel hand made stock. The Remington is in a custom stock with new bottom metal and a matchless finish that I again did myself. Sorry wiki warrior you are wrong again. That is getting to be a habit for you.
