    Blaze B95 Rifle

Honestly I just assumed that anyone who had been around firearms would make the inference based on the evidence provided. The B95 is actually not necessarily the better gun, it has a crummy rate of fire and only holds two shots. It is however the more accurate gun, and that was the core of my argument. Yes but that is a separate issue all together, with the mosin and the B95 its retail price with a few exceptions the mosin is not yet a sought after collectible item. Even when comparing retail price is no guarantor of accuracy with firearms, many cheap guns can stomp much more expensive ones. The mosin in its day was a fine weapon, it was even used in limited numbers by the United States Army. Today it is still a good weapon. Bolt action rifles peaked in about 1898, most improvements since then have been in the manufacturing process and materials used in construction, allowing cheaper production and better tolerances in the rifles and the ammunition they fire.

What to expect from the Ruger 10/22

Sure it could kill instantly with a head shot at 0-80m, so can a BB gun (some air rifles are actually more dangerous than a 22), on the other hand if it struck at a bad angle it could be deflected, causing a painful wound that would bleed profusely. This little horror show of an air rifle is a favorite of mine, would give left nut to own one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girandoni_Air_Rifle

Gunsmith entails that I understand what affects a guns accuracy. Ok Ill KISS this for you In game B95 is chambered in the same cartridge as the mosin Firing an identical cartridge one is more accurate at 100 yards (the B95) The more accurate rifle will be more accurate at 1000 yards as well (the B95) The groups for both will invariably open up at 1000 yards The gun that shoots the larger group at 100 yards will still shoot the larger group at 1000 (the Mosin) The B95 out ranges the mosin by being more accurate, therefore able to HIT the target accurately at longer ranges You are coming off as a guy who failed Geometry. I literally can not comprehend how you do not get this.

    Blaze B95 Rifle

Wait you are dismissing this as fanboism, I own two mosins, I do not own nor will I ever own Blaser, if I spend 2K on a single gun without glass there are a hell of a lot of other much better (for me) guns to buy. Yet you think I am a Blaser fanboi? What kind of logic is this? I am arguing with you becasue I am a trained Gunsmith, not an armorer a Gunsmith and seeing someone post ignorance like you do offends me. Oh god what to do with this gem, in game the Blaser and the mosin use the same cartridges, so if one is more accurate than the other as the Blaser is, it will be MORE effective at longer ranges. Are you trolling me? At this point the ignorance is just to much to bear, especially from a "marine" Yeah, neat thing about the Blaser is that regulating it is not that huge of a deal so you can regulate the crossover to whatever you prefer. Not that that will ever make dayz mind you, just a neat feature ze Germans included.

Hmm who is more likely to know his stuff when it comes to the mosin, the guy with two in the room with him, or the guy who cannot tell the difference between its barrel length and overall length when desperately searching wikipedia for evidence? With a factory fresh mosin of impeccable manufacture you could give the Blaser a run for its money you would come up short, but just barely, with a bit of gunsmithing and some match grade ammo you could beat it. With a mill surplus mosin and mill surplus ammo? It ain't gonna happen as that is the scenario in dayz it is the only scenario that matters in this discussion. The blaser should be more accurate, the mosin has more rounds and a faster rate of fire. I believe you are letting your probably bad experience with a savage 24 cloud your judgment. The American made double guns have nothing other than the general layout in common with this precision built German rifle. Where and when is that? Mexican revolution? Epic illustration.

What to expect from the Ruger 10/22

I said 2 out of 4, ask yourself if the savage wasn't used in the other two videos what was? http://www.eurooptic.com/anschutz-rifles.aspx Nice job ignoring the rest of my post BTW that is a great debate strategy right there.

    Blaze B95 Rifle

I cannot fathom how you think the barrel is 51 inches, my bet is you read the wikipedia article, and took overall length to be the barrel length, so let me repeat no mosin ever built has a 51 1/2 inch barrel, most mosins however are near that length overall Here one last chance for you this is a WW2 production mosin, note the round receiver and tooling marks next to a tape measure this is one of two in the room with me right now I don't know why I bother you are beyond helping, Given that you are this completely WRONG about this aspect of your "findings" What are the chances the rest of your "findings" are worth the pixels you expressed them with?
  8. Franchi (DayZ)

    Blaze B95 Rifle

OMG where to start???? No mosin nagant EVER BUILT has a 51 inch barrel, no standard issue military rifle HAS EVER USED a 51 inch barrel. That is the OVERALL length of the weapon, the barrel on a 9130 should be 29 inches, 20 on carbines giveing the ones in game exactly 5 inches on the B95. More rifling is irrelevant as far as accuracy goes beyond about 20 inches many guns with shorter barrels are just as accurate, a longer barrel allows higher muzzle velocities as more of the powder burns behind the bullet before it leaves the barrel, increasing chamber pressure and velocity. We are not dealing with a factory fresh mosin in 1882 or 1942 we are dealing with a 70 year old relic, data from WW2 is irrelevant to this discussion, find data on mill surplus mosins, that is what we have in game. In game the B95 uses the same ammo as a mosin, IRL it uses a variety of rounds, many of them are more powerful than the 7.62x54r The United States Marines use a Sniper rifle with a barrel the SAME length as the Blaser at 24 inches. Please call me an idiot in your sig, Ill assume most of the posters on these forums will laugh as hard as I am at what you just said. I was speaking historically about double guns, not specifically about the B95 in this regard.

What to expect from the Ruger 10/22

Two of those videos feature rifles that cost about $1500 without optics, at 600 yards the 22LR in the third video could not penetrate a road sign (that is what they are shooting) the last video the shooter fires 6 shots for ONE decent hit on a target that is 18x16 at 500 yards, the other videos feature targets at least two FEET across. In the third video out of an unknown quantity of rounds fired (probably 50 as that is how many come in a small box of the ammo they are using) only ten hit a target over two feet across and of those only ONE was within what would be the vital area of a human target, I remind you that none of these penetrated the 1/8 inch aluminum road sign they used as a target. All but one video features the hyper velocity ammo that I previously mentioned from bolt action rifles with long bull barrels. Were you attempting to prove me wrong? Because you kinda did the opposite ;) .

I am thinking more along the lines of taking it over with a large group, renting out clubs and balls to interested parties in exchange for food/equipment/ammo, of course we have the members of our country club who have access to pristine clubs and golf carts, could be a lot of fun Hosting a masters tournament has a great deal of appeal, especially given that any member of the crowd might or might not shoot a contestant if they are beating the one they bet on.

Minor correction, fancy hunting rifle once popular for killing dangerous animals.
  12. Franchi (DayZ)

What to expect from the Ruger 10/22

Without an excessive long barrel and hyper velocity rounds 22LR is not much good past 150 yards, the bullet drop becomes to much to compensate for, and a little past that it slows to below the speed of sound, its shock wave then catches it and causes it to tumble.

    Blaze B95 Rifle

I know a guy that built a mosin that shoots 1/2 MOA with hand picked mill surplus ammo, but all that is left of the original rifle is the action, it has a hand-built stock, a hand-built trigger and a bull barrel. He did it when we were both in college to prove that the mosin could be made accurate. Mill surplus mosins in their original stocks and condition shooting whatever mill surplus ammo you can get (what we have in game) are not going to give you any better than 2 MOA (and that is generous) barring finding that 1 in 10,000 rifle, they have seen to much war, to much time, and in the case of wartime production mosins not enough attention to detail. It is not all that and a bag of chips, it is simply more accurate than a mosin nagant, not a ranch rifle and not a general use rifle and most certainly not a survival gun, it can fill all those rolls, but none are its intended rolls. It has fatal flaws in dayz, despite it being made with integral scope mount points it can't take a scope in dayz at the moment, and its real world flaw, only holds two rounds. I don't need or want a thread, I just want the misinformation about guns to stop. You're going to post with a sig about me owning an idiot? Will you be giving me this idiot? Can I have my idiot make me a sandwich? On second thought I would rather you not, I cannot support or condone slavery. (sorry had to not normally a grammar nazi) :D

    Blaze B95 Rifle

It will invariably range a mosin. About the best you are going to get from a mosin in its original stock with its original barrel is 2MOA (and that is only if you hand pick from a pile with a bore scope), the blazer will give you 1MOA. Just stop now, it has become obvious I cannot educate you

    Blaze B95 Rifle

When I say "you people" I mean the other people who think its a "Western gun" or a "survival gun" I own a "similar" gun as well a Savage model 24 it has plastic furniture, it's a 222/20, It cost me $125 and all it has in common with the B95 is the general arrangement of an over and under firearm It is however accurate. I invite you to google B95, NVM I'll do it for you http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/gunreviews/429816/Blaser_Model_B95_rifle_x_shotgun_review.html http://www.blaser.de/index.php?id=56&L=1 Below is a ranch rifle, according to Google. Google next time :D

"More of a ranch gun"? Where do you people keep getting these ideas? I really need to know. SERIOUSLY I NEED TO KNOW ITS DRIVING ME NUTS! Its a German made hunting rifle modeled on the popular European double guns and combination guns, It costs between $2000-$7000. Guns such as this were popular as African hunting rifles. The B95 is VERY accurate IRL. It has arrangements for the mounting of optics. The B95 is as much a ranch rifle as a Rolls-Royce Phantom is a ranch truck.

    Item loot spawn

on the subject of construction sites, its not just the top floor, weapons/ammo/attachments sometimes spawn in walls on lower floors, but it is most noticeable on the top floor, stumbled across an M4 there by accident becasue it was in the floor.

Take my beans ALL MY BEANS The worst part is despite this being a troll I would not consider golfing and a golf course wasted time by the dayz devs. I can just picture it, trying to play through a group of bandits, raging when they rob me of my clubs, not because I lost the clubs but because I was on track to come in 3 under par. Also need attachment for M4 to fire golf balls "Oh you don't think that's fair?" BANG BANG BANG BANG "well I DO"

    Winchester Revival Thread

Bohemia interactive is located in the Czech Republic, Chernarus is allegedly based on the Czech Republic, several units of the Czech Military use the Bushmaster M4A3. They are not the only country in the region whose military uses M4's to one extent or another. Calling the M4 western while accurate in its way is also completely wrong, The USA is the worlds largest arms dealer, M4s and M4 variants have been manufactured around the world either under contract/licensee or as rip offs. 50+ countries from America to Africa to Asia and everywhere in between issue M4s or M4 variants to either their military or police.

    Winchester Revival Thread

The M4 is used by units of the military in the country Chernarus is based on you can call it western, but as its a gun that should be there I wouldn't. Until someone can find a better source I am going of this. http://dayzdb.com/database/chernarus A wiki isn't the best of sources but it is the best I have been able to find.

Have scopes been removed from the game?

People are learning, leaving a LRS is inviting a sniper to blow your head off latter in your gaming session ;)
