so far condition (haven't checked ruined) has no affect on books, but lets be honest, you should burn "War and Peace" on the spot every time you find it. 90% of "PVE" "NO KOS" servers are run by admin who set up the server specifically to draw in easy kills. The other 10% are packed full of people looking for easy kills. Sucks for new players but most experienced players know to either go there to KOS or stay the hell away from them.

Oh lol Funny that, the second vest I ever found, after a press vest was a tactical vest on the boat at riffy, lost it soon after falling through a wall or some such, haven't seen one since and when i found my first black uk combat vest I thought that was what I found way back when and i had simply called it a tactical vest, but seeing that picture what I had back then was a tactical vest.

Try using one of those replica katanas , Ill be the one in the tree line, laughing my ass of as it bends against the zombies neck just before the zombie makes lunch out of you. The game dead island had a believable justification for katanas, the game took place on an island that had old ww2 Japanese bunkers, so the Japanese swords you found were those that remained on the island after the Japanese were expelled.

Go to just about any military base or airfield, its dangerous, but after hitting up one or two of them you should find a vest in either the ATC, jail building, upstairs in the fire stations or in the barracks (barracks are your best bet, server hoppers tend to avoid), typically the ones left by server hoppers are damaged or badly damaged but they still work, another option is to check the wrecked ship north of BZ, also the train stations you can enter, such as the one just north of BZ can spawn them. but both of these have them far less often than a military base/airfield. Few people are going to be carrying around a spare combat vest/press vest, they take up 6 slots in your inventory so the only time I carry one is when I am looting an airfield while being covered by my friends with mosins from outside the airfield, then I will grab them a vest if I can before getting the hell out.

I found origin of species in french (I think) but I didn't loot it as I do not know what languages you can read. We should probably post what languages we can all read. I am fluent in English, English and English :D

Finally someone who gets it. About the eye candy, given that every serious pvper in every game that allows it cranks all that crap down for the FPS boost and assorted other competitive edges, HOW THE HELL DO PEOPLE NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS? I just don't get how any gamer at this point doesn't understand that just becasue they see something blocking/restricting their view, doesn't mean everyone sees it.

As for the no zombies outside of points of interest, I ran into a soldier type in the middle of nowhere running direct from NWAF to Polana at first I thought it was a player I was shouting "friendly" before it started moaning. Now maybe some player trained it to there but once we get more zombies its going to be more common. The only issue for me is not knowing if I lived or died EVERY time I log out. Even a small chance will bug me every time.

Oh I go to military bases, and get the guns I am just far more interested in the book spawns!

happens on 30 man servers and also on the ATL servers I believe that is Atlanta tho it might be Atlantic. So I avoid them like the plague, no sense tempting a character reset they happen often enough on their own!

Here is what I currently have on regular, I have alot more on hardcore and will put one of these togther for that latter tonight. Unfortunately it seems every time I log off with a completely full backpack everything below the top two rows gets deleted, lost a lot of good books! Originally I thought it had something to do with storage cases (have had problems before) but after 3 incidents with no storage cases I came upon the idea to leave a slot open in my bags, no problems since!

Nesting a container in a container, be it backpacks in backpacks or medical kits in protective cases or protective cases in protective cases can cause continuous deysnc, I had the same problem caused by just having a protective case full of books. Pick a server from your favorites list and join and drop any protective cases you have, then join a different server and see if that fixes it,if not go back and loot the case, should be able to drag and drop and have it update after you re log.

But we are just getting to the gun porn!

Honestly why bother with those pants? Plenty of other camo six slot pants in the game, but only one camo 6 slot shirt that I know of , got mine ruined in a fight and now can't find a replacement!!!!!

Pray tell why should civilian arms be less deadly???????? My favorite rifle is my Remington 700 in 7mm rem mag, it is accurate and lethal well beyond 800m, accepts 3 and 8 round magazines, has a bi-pod and a 6-24 scope. In comparison to the M4 it shoots a bullet with 2.5 times the weight, faster with more than double the muzzle energy. In comparison to the Mosin (now a civie weapon anyway) it fires a round of comparable weight faster with more muzzle energy. In comparison to an AK/SKS It fires a bullet either the same or heavier, about 1000 feet per second faster, with about twice the muzzle energy. In addition to all of those advantages the ammunition civilian weapons fire is of the type signatories of the Hague Peace conference agreed not to use, bullets designed to expand and do more damage. despite shooting expanding rounds it will punch through any ballistic armor currently in use. There are loads that preform better than those I am using for all of the rounds mentioned (including the 7mm Remington magnum), I used the most common. Now the 7mm as a civilian cartridge is cool and all, I like it for its flat trajectory and stopping power, but its one of the smaller magnum rounds, heck its based on the popular dangerous game round the 375 H&H This is just one example i could provide dozens of others.

This almost always happens to me if I log into a 30 man hardcore server, also was happening last night in 40 man ATL servers, kinda sucks becasue last night I had great ping to the Atlanta servers but i was afraid playing on one wold wipe one of my characters.

The camo has served me very well, I spend a lot of time in the treeline before visiting any city, I rarely go into them if I believe someone else is there. I only initiate contact with other players when I am confident I have the upper hand and that I can help the person in question. I am using gas masks atm becasue since the last patch the servers I have decent ping to tend to be night time when I can play. I shudder to think how far away my bare face is visible to someone with their gama cranked up. You have no idea how true that is. I grew up on a farm, so I know how to ride, shoot, hunt, raise crops and livestock, then went to college to become a gunsmith. I am great with anything mechanical. I also like to read books! Yes IRL I am also a book hoarder. While I do love the classics and scifi/fantasy books I also like reading technical books, the kind of books that teach you how to turn the alternator out of a car, a bunch of car batteries, and a couple of 50 gallon drums into a wind turbine, or the Us Army Survival Manual among others. My hobbies include video games, blacksmithing, welding, knife/axe collecting and shooting. Problem is in a real world apocalypse I would never be as nice as I am in game, in the real world you only get one life! That is not to say I would be a bandit, but I sure wouldn't be giving books, food and guns out like I do in game! Stay off of 30 man servers, every time i have had a problem like that since the last patch it has been on a 30 man server

I don't KOS, I have a grand total of I believe 3 PK's to my name. One attacked me with an axe after I dropped a magnum and some ammunition for him, another asked me and my buddy if we wanted to kill some french kids, when we said no he came at me with a crowbar, the third, well I feel a bit guilty about that, the guy wasn't doing anything, all he was wearing was a clown mask and a crowbar, but he wouldn't respond on voicecoms or in chat, and I had just got decently geared after a character wipe. Right now I am in full mill gear helmet and gasmask, with a loaded M4 and a hunter backpack, the backpack and the camo combat vest are both full of BOOKS dangerous dangerous BOOKS! I have given away more guns than I have shot bullets at other players. Yet many of you would shoot me because you think my helmet, mask, M4 and camo means I'm a bandit? I wear that gear becasue it helps me blend in with the environment and NOT GET SHOT BY BANDITS. I have a M4 with a suppressor becasue its better versus zombies than a Mosin, Even so I do not belive i have fired more thna 30 rounds total in dayz, I prefer the silent axe take down on zombies because like my camo it helps me NOT GET SHOT BY BANDITS.
