Being geared up is not the be all and end of of the game. You see far too attached to your pixel rifle and ammo...

Most Ive managed is shotgun on my back, M4 in my hands and a pistol on my person. I'm sure i've seen a sawn off in someone's backpack taking up an entire row, but I only use the burlap pack so only have 4 slots width ways. Suppose with a holster you could carry a magnum too. 3 'rifles' though I can't see how that's even possible.

Most fun I've had so far is fist fighting on the coast for nothing but lulz and pride. You can draw quite a crowd with more than enough willing participants to keep you entertained for an hour or two. Being fully geared is only part of the fun. You'll be surprised how friendly people can be when you don't have a weapon screaming 'ohhh shiney' and a backpack full of survival for other players to take from you.

The 'hardcore' referred to those of you who beat their chest about such servers, not about your prowess. Personally I find both views to have its advantages and disadvantages and I'm quite happy to switch between the two when the need arises. It's an in built feature of the game and one I will use to aid my survival. You say that you use TeamSpeak every now and again, is that because it's advantageous? The difficulty setting is not hard wired, it's the skill of the guys trying to kill you.

Do those of us that confess to being 'hardcore' use such things as TeamSpeak or Skype?

The game is about trying to stay alive, different items and services are gonna have different values depending on the situation you find yourself in. Some things will be valued more than others, but rather than sticking a set price on em, let the players wanting to trade negotiate a price between themselves based on their actual needs and wants at the time. I have 3 tins of beans and nothing to open em with. You have no food, but you got a pristine can opener, I'll give you a can of beans if you open my other 2 for me? That's the only workable trade system I can see. ... and matches will be the most valuable item in the game. Ammo and bandages ain't gonna cook ya meat and boil ya water!
