i just hope that the final version of these zombies will have some more gore to it... like... being able to blast off their legs and they will still try to crawl to you...

once it happened to me to see 3 zeds around what it looked like someone's body, "attacking" it. When I killed them, there was a t-shirt, jeans and shoes on the ground... It was too far to be a bambi all the way to Stary Sobor, imho... maybe they are trying something new like you say? Or this happens with players body?

This Game is Being Advertised as an MMO Right? Char Bound to Server.
merlointhesky replied to gjhook's topic in Suggestions
MMO stands for Massive Multiplayer Online, until there is a limit to only 40, even hundreds of people per server, this cannot be defined an MMO. I think that having 1 character per type(normal, hard so far) of game is plenty, without chance of trading/emailing between characters to avoid "cheating". IMHO having too many chars would actually ruin this game. -
most of the time it's bandits killing bambis anyway. If I have to die, I'd rather punch back even once.

you cannot fill a bottle halfway, ingame! You would have to drink half of it.

Yes, my reply is to the OP. Not EVERY suggestion should be implemented and tested on the ground. The game designers will have their own ideas and might find inspiration from us, but at the end of the day(Z) it's up to them to decide. It is also possible that they pick up an idea from the forum and scratch it before beta.

not only defecate, but also loosing energy levels so that when you log back, your character is not in all green conditions. Also, eating rice should increase the duration of the logout period, since it dries up your bowels too, making it more difficult to take a dump. /sarcasm off

You know how blood type works right? 0+ can safely donate to B+.. Would have worked if you were AB and you said you were 0 :) On topic, I hope we get the character interface to be redesigned at some point, including some info we get while we play, like our own blood type.

the way I see it, the suggestion forum is open for everyone to write whatever crazy idea they have, then it'sup to the game designers to filter out what is unwanted or impossible

Remove pointless ambiental sounds please
merlointhesky replied to infiltrator's topic in Suggestions
I heard alot of these "wrong" sounds while being in the forest chilling out. After a while you convince yourself that wild animals are throwing a party :) -
I think my post included the possible drawbacks, this is not just a win-win where you use any ammo in any weapon :) But I'm no weapon expert, and it's interesting to read what you guys know about it. My idea comes from that video, and the fact that if it was me, and I had to die, I'd rather gamble for my life for the last time at least :P But despite lacking knoweledge on weapons, I'm well aware that bullets are designed for their specific caliber. I also like that in the video clearly shows the effects on how the pressure deforms the bullet.

i'm not being sore or anything :) was just typing quick and didn't add any smiles eheh As I said in the OP it's not something anyone would use normally, but IF you find yourself in a life threatening situation and the only option is to risk to damage your weapon to fire a round, since it's possible IRL, I don't see why not. My point on this is that it would add a possibility that other games don't offer. I don't think it requires utterly complicated mechanics, other than having extra info about combination of weapon+ammo = what power and what chance of ruining the weapon. The real addition would be if (not realistic example) you try to shoot a more powerful bullet, introducing the chance the weapon explodes in your hands/face. I believe we are going to get a nice and long list of weapons and relative ammo, this would reduce slightly the possible frustration of not being able to shoot because you can never find the right ammo spawn.
-
not saying people shouldn't have their opinion, but the point of this is that you give, at least, a glimpse at the guy in the video shooting the wrong type of ammo in those guns and what he explains about it, i.e. bullets having the same "shape".

I was zapping through youtube when I found this video: I've not seen anything like this discussed on other topics, so: PREMISE: this might be something to look at once in the game there will be more type of weapons and more type of ammo. IDEA: allow players to chamber certain bullets in the "wrong" weapons. WHY? Because I believe that with some bad luck, one might find a certain weapon but not the ammo associated with it. If I was desperate to survive, I would be tempted to shoot the wrong bullet just to be able to survive a fire fight. From a gameplay point of view, it would make it slightly easier to fire a shot, but this system should have the same drawbacks described in the video: lesser power (damage done) and having to load each bullet manually since it won't load a second bullet. Firing a more powerful round will instead still be underpowered but give a chance to ruin the gun, lowering the status (i.e. pristine > worn) or even backfire exploding in the user face (helmets and masks might provide some protection?). It might be a bit complicated to check all the ammo and what they do, but could be an interesting thing that I'm not aware any other game allows to do.

Server hopping has gotten worse. (actuall analysis, not a whine thread)
merlointhesky replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
I noticed this as well, and rather than a single server hopper event, I considered this a "horde of hoppers", like the biblical locusts. I've been playing for a while on hardcore servers and it didn't happen during the week, but in the weekend I noticed that all the freshly restarted servers were 40/40, while it was enough to have them get to 9am and they started emptying. By logging on any of the available hardcore servers, all you can find is dust and leftovers (ruined jeans etc..). I even tried the unusual locations, but it didn't help much. I really hope loot spawning is going to come soon, in the meanwhile I will avoid playing in the weekend on a reborn character :)
