Hey everybody, I've back with another odd thing that's happened to me while playing DayZ. A while back when we had the last server update, I lost a character I had that was fully geared and ready to kick some bandit ass. But when the previous came out, I lost my character. Then the most recent update caused me to spawn in as that character again! I left the server, logged back in, and sure enough I was a fresh spawn again. I repeated the process, and taa daa! I'm back to my fully geared ass kicking machine. No idea what was going on, but I happened to be recording it at the time, so I decided to post it for anybody that would like to see what was going on for themselves. Has anyone else had this "problem" before? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI6hzuGQIkc

So a while ago I lost my character that was fully loaded. But today when I logged in, I got him back! I did this a couple of times and it just switched between fresh spawns and my character. If you guys have also had this experience, help me out haha. I have no idea what was happening. I was recording it so I have examples.

Okay guys, so I'm playing DayZ and roaming around the coast trying to help fresh spawns, when suddenly i see about a dozen men wearing clown masks and playing Tiny Tim's "Living in the Sunlight" and it was probably one of the scariest things I've ever witnessed in a DayZ. Can anybody please tell me what was going on?? Skip to the last 3 or 4 minutes to see what is going on. I have yet to witness it a second time. I don't know if this is a glitch or somebody managed to hack the game or whatever. But it was creepy as hell. Has anybody else had this happen to them in the game before? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U54K1aF324w

I actually was in the same town messing with people too. I had the Dallas mask on and was holding a screwdriver with no clothes on. Scared the hell out of a guy -

Haha the game wouldn't be nearly as fun if we didn't get to watch all the glitches slowly disappear. If you really think about it, it's so cool! We get to watch a game be built and be a part of it!:D -

Nah there was no gear on them, just crowbars and small backpacks. Which could be taken advantage of I guess. But you've got a really good point -

Yeah, I thought that was an awesome subtle touch that some people didn't notice. Did you happen to see that there's a tent in the trees about 10 meters away from the bus? -

Game breaking?? That was the funniest thing I've ever seen on DayZ haha. Definitely not a game breaker for me -

I'm so freakin glad a recorded that though! -
I think probably the best thing you can really do to improve your FPS in the game would be to go completely overboard when buying a cpu. The game is wicked hard on your cpu, so the better it is, the smoother it will run. but avoid massive bottlenecks

haha I'll admit, that would be kinda funny to do to a freshly caught bandit or something. I'm going to guess that if we are able to draw things with the spray cans, then its going to get taken away from us just like the whole pen and paper thing was. But back on the gun thing, I love how it looks. Maybe its because i actually own one or something, but I think it gives such a cool surviver type vibe when its slung over someones shoulder

police/desert and black spec ops clothes

Not gonna lie, if they put police uniforms into the game I would go crazy with it. Could you imagine getting a squad of about 8-10 people roaming around Electro just making sure that there's no banditry going on in the city? It would be like Altis Life/ DayZ crossover. -
I think painting up the mosin would be kinda wasting the fact that the gun is really pretty looking already. I mean yeah, it would definitely help to have it painted so it would blend in with the brush, but I still think that it takes away some of the cool factor of it. I dunno though, I guess I'll have to check it out.

Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]
aleination replied to Blade4777980's topic in General Discussion
Honestly, I think the DayZ standalone in its current state should only be bought if you cannot (or dont want to) get the mod running on your computer correctly. I actually had a hell of a time trying to get the mod to work on mine because some of the files were fucked. But I bought the standalone and have probably put about 120 hours into it so far. Its really lacking in a lot of places when it comes to bugs and the different amount of loot that is in the game, but it is a hell of a lot of fun once you get past it all. Hopefully I was a little helpful in your decision, but ultimately you'll just have to see what is right for you. -
Second thoughts about my banditry..

I think that bandits are a very needed thing in DayZ, because they make the game have that human level of experience. however, being a DayZ hero is a lot more fulfilling in my opinion. I try and help people as much as I can because it just makes the game about then times better. Plus, very few people are fortunate enough to run into a friendly that is willing to help any way they can. Ya outta check this out if you want to see the fun side of being a DayZ Hero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i095KtVL5Eg
