I don't understand how this isn't a suggestion. Now If it is not a bug (if it were then I wouldn't care and wouldn't post about it because like you quoted this is alpha) but if it is in the ambient sounds then I suggest against it. If it is meant to sound like something ells or if it is placed there to create excitement it is taking away from the realism that create so much action in this game. But sure I guess it a different suggestion then how you should be able to make armor out of phone books and duct tape, but this has been released so the creators would be able to get as much feedback as possible.
Yea I didn't check the forum at all on this. I didn't think it was the exact same sound as the can opening players do, even if it did catch my attention. I assumed it was meant to sound like something ells and therefore wasn't a bug but a part of ambient. But thanks for the oh so passionate responses. And about: Explanation #1 : You can hear gates opening/people eating/cans opening/people drinking/people reloading because it is all a part of the ambient in game sounds That was what I was suggesting against if this was the case.
A while ago a new sound was added to the ambient sounds. Birds and wind is perfectly fine. The one that sounds like movement in a fence is also perfectly natural. But this new sound sounds just like someone is opening a can of soda. Don't know if this is to create excitement but I still feel like it is not natural and distracting from the real action. Maybe it suppose to sound like something else but the resemblance is undeniable and really uncanny. This is a alpha so thought I should voice my opinion even about the little things. This is already a really fun game. I'm hoping it will just get better with a strong community at the developers backs.
