    i agree with the title ,but its a bit too late :/, on the other hand according to the dictionary, a bandit is a robber, and true means correct, i guess your right for saying a true bandit is kind of "wrong" to say, but then again it is the true dictionary definition of a bandit.being confrontational is a good writing style, controversy is a good way to cause discussion

    I always try to just make it impossible for them to escape, otherwise, they will try to axe you, they will run, and they will turn around with their gun to shoot, you aim the gun at their head, and let them know if they screw up all their work is over, and all you want is a bit of their time, and they can survive another day with all their great gear.

    Well according to yourself you only tried it once, and you say you'll give up at 10 fails, you have a cat's amount of lives to try it again! It is hard to do alone, but it works best if you listen to the steps, jump them while they are in the open, give them no hopes of escape (if their in the open, they cant get behind cover, and if there is a wall about 3 meters away, they'll run for it.) We had situations like you said above, but we have a huge advantage when they do come in because we're in cover and they will be moving in toward the spot you were, and they get punished for not listening to you. If a person doesn't talk for a while, i'll make them start saying blah blah blah blah, over and over, and tell them if they stop i shoot them, it will clog their team speak, and make it so they cant communicate.

    I wouldn't know, because i waited for stand-alone to come out to play DayZ, I enjoy this play style more because of the interaction,and not so much the items, because it is fun to see how people handle these situations, plus you get a couple cans of food or some extra supplise just to add to the situation of a "robbery", there are some times i have robbed people because we do actually need food, I will tell you though, i give people a warning not to run or I'll shoot, and people will still run away, and I will shoot, it is just simple Darwinism: stupid mistakes make a stupid death. If however you do listen, i will let them see another day, and give an experience for them to tell their friends the next day.

    Why all the judgement?

    that's why i don't stand out in the middle of the open when taking a hostage, only idiots do that. you have to move them to a safe place, make them speak, and if they don't speak you shoot them, I've never died trying to take a hostage yet. again it doesn't take a lot of skill to go around shooting everything that moves, maybe skill isn't what your worried about, but rather your own sense of "safety", with your logic of shooting any "treat" your right, there could be more people in their group, and they'll come to kill you, and I'm sure its happened to you, because you made it sound like that's happened to you a lot. just remember you always move you'r hostage swiftly, and you keep them in doors, you keep them speaking, and if they rebel in any way (doing stuff you told them not to, or refusing) you might give them one warning if you know you're safe, but other then that you're the boss of the situation. I'm not sure how you play, if you run around and KOS, or if you try to survive and just kos when you see a player, but if im reading you correctly, you make it seem like you would shoot ANYONE, even at 500+meters away not even going your direction because they are a "treat", and don't even try to avoid them, i think you have alternative motives other then your "safety" im sure you said you tried it before, but here's a challenge : go to a city where people occasionally go around, i heard you like shotguns, so carry a shotgun with you, hold someone up at gun point and rob them, its much more intense then jsut shooting them while they aren't even aware that you're there. and since you have a shotgun you would normally ruin all their gear, but here are the steps to a proper robbery: 1. make your presence obvious to them,(get right near them, point gun at them, and make sure they have NO HOPE OF ESCAPE, otherwise, they'll make a break for it. 2-3. have them move to somewhere with cover for you(and have them drop everything, as quick as possible, in case they have a hidden weapon, search them,take some stuff, and let them have their stuff back) optional: handcuff them, way safer for you honestly, I only use them when i have multiple hostages) 2-3. start conversation, (this is so they don't talk to their group members, i usually have them start saying blah blah blah over and over so that it clogs their skype/teamspeak so they cant talk to their friend anymore, ask lots of questions, and give them a rough warning if they don't respond quick enough, and tell them you know about their friends. 4. finish, make sure you are COMPLETELY safe before moving,( even humanize yourself through conversation in step 2-3 , tell them your name, get theirs, people trust you about 100% more when they know who to call you, and know your back-round, if they have friends, they might tell them to back off just because you were nice and let them live, make sure they stay at the spot you left them for about a minute, that way they don't give information from where your going.)

    you can simply walk away, no need to jump them out of nowhere and shoot them. it takes a lot more skill to hold someone up at gunpoint then to just shoot them outright, i learned in dayz you should always give people a chance, there are some amazing people out there, and im the leader of a squad of about 10-12 guys who we meet over time, its much more rewarding, because in the long run your rewarded for talking to people, and you can punish them or reward them according to how they are. people have thanked me for robbing them, think about that , its kind of ironic.

It happens every time, you find a nice piece of clothing, maybe a weapon, or even carry your food in your pant/shirt pocket because your backpack is full, then, the one who carries God's hatred comes, the gurgling dead smacks you once, and suddenly your glorifies rider's jacket, looks like it got run over by a track team 40 times, had been used as a condom 50 times, and was used as a tampon. This is annoying. especially with the current zombies, I've lost firefights i should have won because i didnt have anywhere to put my pistol, and the first zombie to come at me ,destroyed it in mid fight. Now a way to solve this would be to: make it so when a zombies DOES damage your clothing (ruin) it will only go down 1 damage grade... Meaning pristine<worn<damaged<badly damaged<ruined (like it should be honestly) Or for now just get rid of the zombies doing damage to clothing for the meantime. because this has made me angry (because i like my clothing looked nice, and not shat on) Anyone else feel me?

    there should probably be an option of not caring what condition you want the gear to be in, but ruined could work too i guess for that. it should also so both sides of reputation, good and bad, because i can see a guy going rouge because he has 50 rep, and decides to take advantage of 20 of it, bringing him down to 30, but getting full gear from killing people every time, dont know if that shows right now.

    a zombie literally doing a slap animation: should ruin stacks of bullets, magazines, and even pistols in one hit, because "humans are tougher when affected by adrenaline and rage", this is more so about them 1 shottings items, and not slowly degrading items as they hit them, sure, id like to see them destroy a magazine, after 20+ hits straight to that part of the body.

    I've had zombies hit be while i was behind them, I've had zombies hit me from 10 meters away, I've had moments when ill clearly be axeing a zombie, and it doesn't do anything, but this is a whole different topic i wont get into.

    I ment the same chance of your items being ruined right now should only down grade your items once. So every 5-10 hits you'll only go down one damage stat

    well first off you should start a conversation by calling someone stupid, secondly the next line you spelled perfect wrong, its really hard to avoid zombies in combat with another player in a major city while they keep spawning (and btw, what happens when you have a gun and you don't have a backpack to put it in? instantly I'm a stupid person for having my pistol ruined to a stupid glitch, or a "not hard to avoid" zombie who can hit you while your behind it.)

    Sudden instant death and player Hit Points

    Is "spine" damage fixed in .50? Is this fixed? my regular character, if this is still a problem by .50, will die very very soon, due to how many zombies have hit me due to lag, or a zombie hitting me while I was behind it (lag) broken arms and legs too,. I might need to find a tent otherwise, and go jump off a roof to get full "spine" back.

    Well pointing out the issues is a good way to have them solved, not sitting around and saying that eventually they will be solved. This isn't really gamebreaking as much as its just annoying, don't even know why they couldn't just fiddle with some numbers to ruining items, and put it on experimental, the chance of something being ruined should just ruin it straight out, but put it down 1 damage grade, so every 5-10 zombie slaps will make your item worn, that sounds MUCH better then ,1 zombie hit, then you look like you got run over by a tank then burst into flames. It just makes the experience really annoying and tedious, and yes, that's what alpha is, but again, saying "oh they'll solve the problems later" will only add less stress to a topic that should get fixed. What i should be saying is, that the damage system is a huge part of the game, and having it be broken for this long is not very 'nice'

    What is "Fully Geared" to you?

    canteens are useless, drink at a pond/well in almost every town (except like 5), compass is useless unless you dont know the map, and can opener is the only useful thing you listed
  19. *Title* IF As long as it takes time to create. and by time i mean DEDICATION. you shouldnt be able t place a new engine in a heli, and be able to fly it, it should require weeks if done alone, and if in a group it should take maybe a week or half a week if you divvy up the work between your members to create something. An Organized group should be able to create a war machine (pickup trucks with mounted gunners, Humvee's with grenade launchers, tanks, and the sort) if you spend time on it. When you see an organized group coming for you in a tank your words shouldn't be "oh maybe i can kill them and take it" in fact, there shouldn't even be words, it should be "*censored* these guys are organized, and if i mess with them,it's game over" but in the form of a wet stain, and droppings in their pants. Edit:(Please read) Some people seem to be confused, or aren't reading/ skipping over this fact: I think it should take WEEKS for a lone player, or a week for a organized group to build a heavy military vehicle, if they work hard at it, and put a lot of time into it, now if their dumb, and decide to go on the coast with it instead of use it tactical reasons (defending a base, attacking another base, fortifying a location, or putting a city under martial law) they will most likely die instantly to the first guy with a semi-decent weapon who knows how to use it. To Mods: this really wasn't much of a suggestion, more-so a point of discussion, even though the title sounds like a suggestion, its just to spark some discussion on. Ty.
  20. constructive reply, i honestly think having these military vehicles would make the RP nicer as well, also infuriating maybe not a base, but a city, and putting it under martial law. those are the kind of things id like to see, base take overs, city take overs, post-apocalypse governments, warlords. i think the main use for a tank for me would just to have it stationary at your base, so when they come in you could be able to use it as a "turret" same with any mounted gunners, a moving turret.
  21. if a new spawn has a mosin, you could probably kill the gunner, the driver, or anyone inside, you could also hide. this would make it badass for you to be a freshie, worrying about the warlords of the server, and as i stated like 5 times before, if you run around killing people on the coast, your gonna find a group of baddies who are bigger and stronger then you, or even just 1 guy with good aim/ a scope. you see it every day on youtube "guy takes out 5 man squad solo!"

You CLEARLY didn't read the rest of the rest of the arguments i put up on this post, i said that this will take weeks to acquire, and if you went around "swaggy and blowing people up" you'd quickly loose it to some guy with a blaze who knows how to hide and shoot. but these vehicles would be better for base invasion, RP, when dayz might have a private hive, where a group of warlords might take a city, and become known on the server for having weapons.

  24. -private hives- 75% of your argument is invalid -ignoring the fact that i said it would take forever to get this stuff-, almost to the point where its not really worth getting it unless your a huge clan that works together PROPERLY, not some random team of 3 or so rambo's, im talking an organized group with a similar goal. and those "overpowered doughbags" got their stuff because they WORKED FOR IT, so if you feel under-powered, it would only be because you didn't do anything. (i used tanks as an example, but id like to see more Technicals , Humvee's, and Helicopters.)
