if you mean throwing a knife or an axe I hope you know its harder then it looks then in video games.

im just saying in image one that's kind of correct to human vision, if you went on top of a mountain and saw a giant crowd of people, that's about what it would look like. wouldn't see eyes, or faces, or anything, dayz zoom you can hold right click, all the sudden you see what they are carrying, and weapons they have, and what they're doing. and im saying the only way you should be able to see whats going on down far away is by having a scope, or using a pair of binoculars, that's what I wanted to say in the psot I put pictures in, bit I couldn't get a magnified image.

im done, you may proceed to cheer in victory, this is stressing me out, I cant tell facial features from 100m away, or tell what a guy has in his hands from 300m away unless its in an obvious position (holding like a gun) and we cant crop images to our liking to tell what people have from a distance, but technology hasn't reached this capability, to be able to be realistic from 200m+, which a human cant even see letters on a gas pump, or someone's face from that far, so it almost doesn't matter. im finished, have a good day. by the way, im basing meters off feet, 3 feet per meter, 100 feet is like the distance from 2 telephone poles, so basically 3 telephone poles away, im not superman so I cant see what people are holding from that far.

I cant tell if a guy is my friend from 300m away, in dayz I can.

im suggesting the middleground, we can zoom 1.5x - 1.25x just so we can have what a human eye can see, but its ridiculous when you can crop an image of electro from sniper kill wth just your normal human eye to see what a guy is wearing. or if he has a gun, all that.

so this is what I think here. now imagine you have like twice the viewing power you have now, right now your standing on top of a big hill looking down, but now you can zoom inward, go ahead, put your face against your screen, it helps finding this waldo guy. I'm too lazy to find him, I think I found his evil twin brother though. this is why I think its a slight bit cheaty, from here everyone looks like an ant, but when you have this power you crop the image to find him, its far easier to catch waldo. oh I found him! he's at the skull , 1cm to the right, now if I actually tried to find him without magnifying the image it would take me like 5 mintes longer maybe.

I understand, but what if the game weren't in alpha still, and objects could look like their regular sized irl counterparts, im about to post an example of why this is a bit odd.

by make out a bird I ment its "parts" eyes wings, but from where I was looking it was the size of like my half small toe looking at my feet

I know, your just cropping the image basically, making it so you can observe a figure from further away then normal.

well I cant make out a human in 1 second from 300m away, id have to at least look for a few seconds, and I think if the game were more optimized it would work better, its just you are literally cropping an image from your screen and observing it. and I don't know about you, but I cant do that in really like, from 300m youd look like an ant, id have to observe a bit to see if your a person or a zombie, or just an oddly shaped bush, or a sapling in a forest (depending on camo) but my example is mainly in a forest zone, I wouldn't be able to tell, if you were wearing something brown, if you were a person or not, id just run right past you, and when you have the ability to zoom like some superhero, I can crop the image on my screen and see "ya that's a person" and proceed to kill you.

this is a great point, I just think it should be slightly less, maybe when the game is more optimized? its just I've been spotted from distances that normal humans cant see, they pull out their gun and blast me, back to the example of my backyard and seeing birds, I couldn't see them clearly from more then 30 m away, I just got glasses, for me it was a black figure hopping around, I grabbed my binos, could see it was obviously a bird (I knew because of the way it moved around ,and I threw bird feed out) BUT, what whould a human look like from 300-400 m away with your naked eye, an ant, most likely. and youd have to observe a small while to see, "is that a human? or a zombie sitting still?"

you completely missed your target, im talking about how you can right click and zoom in x2 with any setting.

if the zoomed in was my normal perspective wouldn't I see my feet and not my legs and body? maybe a bit of my legs, but still. the ability to go half-superman is a bit off, and I'm not talking about zoom on a scope, that's a magnifying glass, it works like that, but an eye needs a magnifying glass to see far distances, our eyes in dayz don't really need it as much, on certain occasions above 600m+, but that's only because our dayZ eye can see up to 500m by holding right click, and some scopes have the same power as your right click, its someone ridiculous. But still I need to make a public service announcement, that I live in the US, and we don't have the metric system, so by 200m I may be a bit off, and I actually mean like 300ish.

I was thinking we should have less zoom , like an eye squint, like x1.25 - x1.5 when you hold right click. the game is super easy when you have this invisible binos ready to go.

depends, service would probably go out after a day or two because all the workers would be going to their family probably, not sitting around at the place worrying about others.

im pulling the 2x view from the holding right click down and seeing something in the distance. im guessing twice as powerful? because I cant just crop a fourth of what my eye's seeing and look at it in a big picture, to see what's going on into the distance.

well I heard glasses IRL, I might be a little off with 200m, because I live in America and they haven't switched to using metric, and im pretty bad at telling distance, but say 200m is from the front of kamishovo to the end of kamishovo, with your normal eye your only see maybe a figure, you wont be able to say "oh, obviously a person" or you know look 400m-500m up a mountain, with your naked eye, and see someone in the woods running around, but in dayz you can go 2x zoom with your naked eye, so either your character is carrying a pair of hidden binos that only have x2 vision, or we have a pair of slightly weaker superman eyes. I get all your arguments about our screen not really giving the human eye enough to look at, but heres the thing, find binos, gives you that zoom back, but like 16x more powerful, and I think we should have zoom, maybe not in hardcore as powerful, like in hardcore it should be maybe (saying the eye is x1 zoom) like 1.25x - 1.5x zoom when you hold right click down in hardcore. and hardcore mimics more of this "you don't know until it happens" feel, where you are weaker then you are in third person, you can look over walls, or see things behind you, so in hardcore you only have first person perspective, and that's already more human, but we can still look on top of a hill from electro, and see EVERYONE in town from 600m+ running around. I had to use a pair of binos IRL to see some birds eating at some feed I threw out there, and they were like 30m away, so what's a human going to look like 300m+ away?

in reality id say the zoom could be a "squint" if you really want to see 2x better with one button, should be more like x1.25 or something in hardcore.

we're talking about holding right click and zooming in 2x with your eyes in hardcore, no human can do that.

well from "not seeing someone from 200m away" I meant being able to tell weather its a zombie or not,
