Holy shit the sporter is a potential death machine if it's more accurate than the mosin... No wonder you can't mount any optics on it xD silent and scoped? Good lord...granted, limited range/damage considering the cartridge though. Yet I still find it strange there's no optics options for it or am I just sounding like an idiot here?

Mod = tuning up a car, standalone game = getting the DIY build a car kit and putting every screw, nut and bolt in yourself. That's why the standalone takes so long to release stuff.

Hey all, Just an idea that came to mind. What if all the loot in the game was to be randomized all over the map so that it may encourage people to not just fly over to the airfields, what if all the loot was to be random? Yes, I'm talking about finding M4's in regular houses, wool coats in airfields, ACOG scopes in light houses etc This would force the community to actually go around the map and hopefully encourage more people to explore further inland too! Thoughts?

I thought that would still somewhat limit the spawns rather than totally randomize them like I had in mind. That's an awesome idea, actually. Though I'm picturing some crazy admins setting ALL the items spawn in just a couple of towns where literally, in 5 min from spawning, you have everything :B

The Standalone is about 2 years after the events took place, I believe.

As the title says, how far will you be able to interact with the area around you and how much will the effect show/last? Examples can easily include: Utilizing a stove to cook Sitting on a chair/bench in a town/house Creating a logo that you can spray on buildings or 'free-hand' spraying (In a situation like this, there'd be graffiti everywhere) Climbing through windows/breaking windows (Epic to have) Making locks/locking doors (and the opposite) These are a few that come off from the top of my head, this could be taken as a suggestion, also. Though I did want to know if anyone's heard of anything about things like this o:

Haha, I was just curious to see if anyone's seen them mention anything along those lines. They're working on drawing the path finding for the AI to go through the doors. At least nowadays they actually go close to the door-frame instead of clipping through bloody errythang :D Yeah that's why I'm suggesting/asking about this stuff! The whole point of releasing the game in Alpha (from what we're told) is to develop a game with massive amount of community input to affect the development of it. Not sure just how far they'll go but I really hope more people support this idea to possibly get their attention! At least for it to be added to their 'to-do' list, I don't quite care for when it comes about but more IF stuff like this will come out!

I think the courier bag should be acceptable, it's only logical to have a container to allow surplus items :3 mind you, I specify courier bag, not improv backpack. How one stick can make that is silly.

It'll probably be 2015 for Beta probably, the game upon release was Early Alpha, not just Alpha. At the moment I'd say we're pretty much mid-alpha considering the mechanical functionality in-game and network wise.

This story is a few days old but still good enough to show! So the day before all this, let's call it just a prologue to these events; Was lightly geared, mosin + PU Scope, wool coat, a nice hat, cargo pants, improvised backpack, the usual stuff. I've long since stopped going TAKTICOOL YOLOSWAG 360NOSCOPE so I've come to appreciate the...'simpler' things available? I'm also pretty sure I had a kahki assault vest (it was hard to part with my holster but I felt I needed the space :c ) going along the cost, I see two dead bodies and another bambi a few hundred meters further off jogging along, looking kind of oblivious. So I go to him, offer him a can opener, show him the bodies (one had a hoodie and another had cargo pants he could use) and when I offered the can opener, he took it and dropped a 6 round speedloader. Just as I was about to pick it up, darkness "You are dead" I heard the gunshot of a mosin, yet with no one on the road for all the time I looked around, so it must have been your typical sniping dick that just wanted to take out some easy targets for their E-peen points, or could've been a friend of the bambi. Regardless, I respawn in Svetlo! Now let the fun begin Push forward to the next day, I login and remember what happened. So I start roaming about on a 30+ Man server. Find an SkS bayonet and a top. I see a guy and hit up the coms, " Ey there buddy, got any food?" no response. A few more times trying to talk to him are met with nothingness, so I stab him in the head with the bayonet 'till he gets KO'd, just nab the can opener from him and waddle off. Normally with anyone who doesn't respond, I don't quite like as you can see. Push on a bit more and I find a child's briefcase, 4 slot top, cargo pants and pristine PU scope in a garage (Yay!) Then I see a dude with an M4, he's wearing a big ass fluffy jacket and raises his hand at me. A quick "Ey there buddy!" response from me and we part ways, bumping into each other a few times. The thought of taking the M4 did come to mind but he did have the courtesy to interact so I didn't try anything. T'was only a few minutes later that I see two zombies attack a dude with an SkS, pretty much wanting the SKS and hoping the dude is AFK, I just stare at him from across the road, he eventually shoots the zombies and tries to shoot me as well, so I get to stabbin' work! After an ungodly amount of stabs, he's bleeding like crap, giving up on trying to shoot me (zig-zag sprint with 1 handed weapon does makes one a hard target :D ) takes out his baseball bat...inside :D so I stab stab and somehow he still is up. We go outside and I hear the mortal Kombat music going on in my head and we, well, engage in Mortal Kombat! Needless to say, he knocks me out twice, I knock him out last and finish him off (Fatality, anyone?) Since he was pretty bent on killing me, as he's try to down me while trying to stand up again. I take his gun as my prize, thankfully I found the PU scope and a spare box of bullets! Next guy I met, was by the hospital. He had an M4, saw me and started shooting. Thankfully I'm smart enough to stick to my bayonet, so he doesn't hit me, once. By this time my sniper friend is on a roof of a building and I lead him to the sniper's sights while he's shouting "STOP MOVING OR I KILL YOU, YOU FUCKER" for whatever reason he thought I'd do that, he continued to shoot regardless. Eventually, sniper fired off a shot he started to run away (the m4 dude) which is when I take the chance to use my SKS and plug his skull with about 3-4 bullets. The last two worth mentioning; Found a dude and started talking to him, my sniper friend still on, I set up the guy so that my sniper 'friend' holds me and this random ass dude up and we see what he has...which isn't anything worth anything really. So it turns from a holdup to a good-will thing as we try to fix his clothes! But for some reason, he stripped him of the clothes and backpack, which was when the server reset. Leaving the guy with a helmet and shoes. Thankfully he logged back in a bit later and we helped him with tips, tricks and re-geared him as an apology for making him losing everything. Lastly, found a dude that rocked a shotgun and never wore shoes. Was his 'style' props for him making his character(s) have hobbit-esq feet by the time he's done with them! Needless to say, it was a helluva fun day, anyone wants to share their stories?

I tried the blaze, it's a nice gun but the two-shot needs some steady hands and a calm head to use well. So once I get better at PVP I'll try it some more. Gimme an SkS and I'm good doe :3 Most kills with that as it's the best of the M4 and Mosin! Power like that of the mosin with being semi auto! 2-4 hits with that and bitch is down. 1-2 hits with mosin and 492394293589 hits with the M4, though mosin is bolt + 5 bullets and the M4 requires a whole mag to kill someone...so I'll stay with the SkS 'till they do anything good with the shotgun, not bothering with it either.

I spent a total of 9 Eur, on the Arma2 pack (OA included) and donating 5 Eur to DayZRP.com :3 Best investment ever.

Hey guys, I just got ARMA2 + OA last night for 4 eur (thanks steam!) so I thought I'd get some pointers before I gave the game a shot. Was wondering on how to discern between the different mods (I hear Epoch being mentioned as the 'all round good' one?) along with RP communities that I really want to try out too! So if anyone could nudge me in the right direction, I'd be pretty happy to start making my way to some servers!

'ey guys! I've just been wondering, howcome the sporter 22 is so rare even though it was the latest gun to come out? I suppose to a point the crossbow too. Though my major issue is that I've ever only seen about, what, 2 mags for the sporter ever since it came out. I know most of the loot spawns but I just hardly ever find any mags for it. Is it just me or are they extremely rare? Personally, I'd rather have the sporter be far more common (especially since it's quite the civilian class weapon) than the Mosin/M4. I'm not sure if it's suggestion worthy but I think it has the right place here since I hardly see the sporter along with almost never finding the mags for it :c

We'd just see how it goes along but it's great to see so many people interested in the idea! I'll consider what place(s) to utilize and move onward from there c: Could be, though we'd just have to find somewhere large enough to still act as a town with everything but small enough to accomodate the people we want. So I think Berezino would be good for the mixture of scenery it has. I don't think we'd out-grow any decent-sized town really, while base building would be a good idea to customize the town, we have more than enough land here in Chernerus :3

Thanks for your reply! First off, thanks for the DayZ commander, I'll be sure to take a look into it. Though with regards to the DayZ RP I've gotta say I'm really, really disappointed at that :c if you might know any friends who are actually into it and have some good places, I'd love to join in!
