Is the DayZ Mod better than Standalone?

I started as a SA noob and have quickly moved to Epoch. so much more to do and more fun :) The inventory and scroll wheel system take some getting used to coming from the SA, but it just takes a few hours a of playing and dicking around to figure it all out. -
As a fresh spawn, how do you deal with Zombies since the latest Patch?

hahahahahahahaahahhahahahahahaha I'd take my maadi over an M4 or variant any day. it all depends on the AK. my maadi has a 20" barrel so its very accurate and much quieter than my friends milled sam7 classic. I prefer the 74 to either but I prefer the AK format to any other rifle. Easy of use can't be beat.

anyone who wastes their time hiding things on people when servers will just reset in a couple hours just blows my mind. Why care so much about dying? I mean I cared when I fist started playing but, cmon there's no way your guy is gonna survive till the actual release when everything is in and it's worth trying to stay alive. I'd say now is the best time to dick around and get used to the mechanics of tactical gun fights and what not. -

Yeah I don't understand this "there's too many guns!" Here in Vermont everyone and their mother at least has a shotty in the house. And that's not counting police and national guard/military bases. After a little time ammo will become scarce but guns will still be around.

Yeah I've seen some days when it seems to rain 90% of the time from server restart to the next. I know it can rain for days in real life but, I doubt most people are going to want to hope on a server to sit around for hours doing nothing.

I think forcing characters onto a specific server and only that server is the best way to solve hoppers. Can't hop around if they gotta start a new guy every time.

I have had characters go forever without finding a single mag for the FNX then I have others who have had 5+ FNX mags. just luck of the draw imo.

Same with me, if I see you and you don't see me, I'll just head off as fast as I can. No need to ruin my time getting killed or ruin someone else's for a can of beans I can get 10 minutes up the road. And 99% of the time now I'm just running around in the NE fully geared and healthy so no need to kill anyone for anything. -

I have more than enough 5.56 and 60 rounds mags for all the zombies to come for me :) I'm enjoying the meaner zeds -
in 200 hours I have found 2 press vests and 0 stab vests. The two press vests I've found were in train stations. I'm sure when someone see my friend and I walking down the road each with a press vest they"ll automatically think we must be server hoppers :P we have yet to be shot in them so no idea how they work out besides the info in those videos!

I actually have no problem being sniped from long distance. yes it sucks but at least it takes a little skill. I'd much rather be picked off from far off by a good shot then by some asshat who says friendly then shoots me in the back. -

The only trouble I've had at the ship was being pulled through a wall on the 3rd floor and of course falling to my death with my just fully geared guy. I had gone in to look for a compass for my friend who had just logged out in one of the storage containers. That's what I get for looking for friends. Seems every time I get fully geared and start collecting stuff for friends I end up getting thrown off a wall or ledge or some sorts. -
