I think a lot people would disagree but, I think the walking dead zeds are the best solution. The servers I've played on where zeds ONLY walk were quite nice. You can get too lax thinking they're slow and can't get you. Then boom there's 6 of them in the building with you.

For me, no. I find most of my enjoyment in the game right now scavenging.

I like to scavenge. I also enjoy how it's striving to be more realistic than most games.

Everyone and their mother has camo. Why would it all of a sudden not be around once zeds hit?

I'm running a 3.7GHz i3 and a GTX480, have no issues

I saw several pairs last night on the stable branches.

I have a mic. I also have loud 20 something year old roommates and a PC in the living room. I can't always be using a mic.

Then by all mean suggest something else. I have no issues with the current system. Each new character is exactly that, a new person. Guns for the most part are easy to find if you don't hang out in the same spots as everyone else.

It took a few minutes for me to figure out but, once you get the blood test kit it's a doh why dind't I think of that with just about everything else int his game :p

So with about 300 hours in game I think I've killed 4 people only 1 was KOSish. #1 was a crazy bambi my friend and I were trying to help. she didn't like the look me of I guess and started swinging but was friendly with my friend until I popped out from behind a corner. #2 I was playing inventory tetris in the garage near NEAF crouched in a corner. I guy came in the garage and popped a shot at me and missed. I dumped 15 into his chest. #3 I was a freshspawn in my undies and only had an axe and little girl backpack. Oh and a cowboy hat! Well some dink decided to attack me with a bat. Axe > bat #4 I was on a hardcore server at dusk friday night. Walked into the porch of a house on Gorka. Turned around to a man with what I thought was and axe held up at the door. Pulled my .22 out but realized I only had one round in it so grabbed my sks and put 2 in his chest before he got to me. Gave him one more once he was down. Ended up being a bambi with a hoe and puffed jacket. This is the only one where I was not attacked first. He however did not speak, try to escape or lower his weapon even after seeing me pull my sks out. Or he was just blind as a bat.

I thought that was a pretty good description of what I've been noticing! They can be closer to me and miss with other attacks. But, that one seems to get me from several meters.

I like the current one. I used the other in epoch. what is the carry slot for?

Did you just set a bunch of AI into the map or something? I'd think it'd get pretty borring just running form zeds.

sorry I'm a american nub nub I can't do meters for shit ;) But great work to everyone, this has really re-energized my DayZ playing :)

Coming from a vanilla noob, my only complaint so far (and I don't know if this was an issue before, but heard others in server talking about it) would be the zeds hitting you from like 15-20 feet away. I was hit by one from the complete opposite side of a room, and one who was a good 15 feet off the side of the road hit me while i was running in the further lane from him. But otherwise this is a blast. wouldn't mind a tiny bit more loot around but it makes looting more fun when you don't find everything you want within a half hour.

have never kosd took me probably 100+ hours before I killed anyone. Then I got 4 or 5 kills in a week.

There are some maps on epoch that allow harvesting and selling :p

I ran around like a noob and got killed a bunch. had a blast. Then my roommate got helped out by a geared guy, showed him some stuff and where to loot. My roomamte showed me and since then I just go to the high loot areas when a freshie and then just sorta explore once geared.

Yeah definitely keep moving as much as possible and just hit em with whatever you've got. For awhile I would just shoot em but now that they spawn all crazily I don't. Once you get the hang of it they aren't too bad. Other players on the other hand...

I've rarely met people who don't kos and it seems when you do both parties are uneasy waiting for the other to shoot. I just try to avoid interaction if geared. If I'm a new spawn or somewhat new spawn I don't care and run up and talk to everyone. I get shot most of the time. Once in a while I'd say 1 out of 4 will just say hi and please go another direction. I had one guy talk to me for a few minutes, offer food and ammo just to shoot me as soon as I opened my inventory.
