I think you are being overly harsh on people. They just need to be reminded to search first. And if people are going to take the time to get pissy about it how about naming who you felt was not searching first so we know who it was and can give them a reminded to search first and not get pissy about it.

They are just clothes! Its not like I said spawning with police uniform you get to keep your gun belt and pepper spray. Picture a uniformed police officer running around with black pants black shirt badge maybe even the police belt with no weapons or gear. Just the clothes. Not special clothing. Nothing that would help you... Just to give you an idea this toon had a life before the world ended. How about that firefighter running around in bright yellow pants with red suspenders and white t-shirt? Once again they only special meaning to them would be role-playing to those of us that wish to role play. you can just dump them after you find a gillie suit :)

Sounds like you want Saints Row The Third? They have lots of crazy stuff like that. It's good for a laugh. Maybe after release some modder could make wally world location where if you Played during Christmas you can find a Santa hat.

By added mechanics are you referencing different sets of clothing that spawn with new char spawns? Theses are just clothing that would spawn as the clothes do now. Just made to look like a profession was involved before the fall of mankind. I fail to see how that is added mechanic's. Keeping in mind that there are already clothing in the game so no new mechanic's. This is just another aspect of DayZ that makes it fun to play and more realistic. You can stick to your missionary carrying bibles if that is enough for you. Others have responded with positive feedback so I think I am not the only one. "Why I like the game ? Freedom of choice, freedom of movement, freedom of objectives to accomplish. Ultimate goal, to survive the longest while trying to interact with other survivors." Freedom of choice? I am not asking people to do anything they don't want. If you spawned in a firefighters uni I am not asking you to run around and fight fires I am also not asking for theses clothes to be "Special" clothes. they are just like your bambi clothes.

No its just clothing to let you know what you did in the past and gives you a chance to role play if you like. Career Clothing is only visual. Also makes DayZ seem more realistic.

I think 30 seconds is better than 15s If they are behind a bush getting there a$$ handed to them 15 sec is enough for a combat log. make em wait 30s that is not to long to wait to log out. Hell you could even log out and walk away. if you are in a safe spot you will most likley live to see another day.

What about spawning with Career Clothing on? Picture that guy in the target shirt (as in Target store shirt) complete with name tag and all? Or what about a crossing guard? How about CEO dressed in that $2,000 Armani suit? Police uniform with badge? Bum? I like having everyone spawn with a wallet and id. That way I can run around with everyone's id that I have disagreements with. That would defeat the purpose of DayZ. Sounds to me like you need to spend a little more time and energy searching for an alternative mode of transportation. It really saves your time and life sometimes. a faster mode of transportation.

A Garrote for quiet dispatching with style. Camo tent/netting for covering cars/trucks/bikes. I know it was suggested before but a kit that would allow for a Spider Hole is worth reiterating. could be just like a foundation for a house but much smaller hole as far as coding goes. It would be awesome if while moving though the forest or tall grass that a random number of birds would take to the sky where you just ran over. say 2-6 birds (ducks,geese,doves,pigeons) that could be seen from a medium distance away. also maybe random trees/buses maybe 1 in 6 might have fleeing birds. Where is the twig snapping if anyone spend anytime in the forest you know how noisy it is. if running in the forest you should hear twigs snapping at least once a min of running. Same thing with bushes they make alot of noise you should hear rustling. Would be neat if the more gear you have the most jingling and rustling you make. Would encourage people to not be loaded up if they care about making noise.
