only ones i have found recently have been from killing server hoppers.. this and the acog have been non existent for me

I don't really understand the hero going to save the bambi thing, but to each their own.. If i come across a bambi in a town trying to get food and a weapon ill keep my distance and talk to them, and occasionally throw them some food/drinks or a weapon (not loaded)

i agree, real life gets in the way sometimes.. And when your on the second floor and a wall zombie comes through it sucks...Hopefully this is fixed soon but for now it's still a fun work in progress game.
