I've had Z's today hit me from 15 ft behind me as I was on a full run in an open field. They were keeping up with me the whole time, it wasn't until I ran them through bushes and trees that I finally started pulling away from them. I also noticed while holding the axe the same thing as you experienced...it might be just the missing foot step but in 1 player mode it really seems like you're running a lot faster, not by just looks but by distance too. Point A to point B seemed to happen a lot faster when the axe was in my hand running today.

I've seen two streamers that own servers that they set the server to reboot to a short time so they could get geared up before heading to a pop server. If there's not a public hive...they'll just restart it when they want to gear up....so they're not technically server hopping...but they are loot hopping their server so they're fully geared to play on it....so there's nothing wrong with that? if not... then this topic is definitely hopeless...because you're pickin' and choosing what to complain about. There is NO difference from a public hive with a guy jumping from server to server looting than a private admin rebooting the server in short time so it spawns loot quick....same principal.

So I log on a private server on off hours.....loot the crap out of it....my guy is ready to go the next time I log in......next private server......I log in on off hours....loot the crap out of it...my guy is ready to go.....next server.... on and on and on....... well that didn't seem to work did it? Next would be that the admins can shut the server down when they're not playing....so then my guy is basically shutdown until the admin decides I can play on that server. There's got to be at least public servers and quite a few of them that people are not stuck with either paying the server owner or waiting around until the owner/admin decides to start the server up again. I only play on about 5 servers normally...so if these servers were private...I'd have 5 guys in different states of gear...but I'm limited on which guy I can play depending on which server owners have their server up and running plus if it's full or not. Let the private ones do whatever they want to do with the game but please provide a good amount of public servers for us that want to just play the game without all the drama.

Never played ARMA so I don't know what the VSS was like on it, I did however play America's Army and this was my weapon day in and day out on the maps that it was available in. It's truly a 1 shot 1 kill weapon from 400 yds or less...after 400 yds it starts dropping big time, do to it's sub-sonic ammo. I rarely flipped it to auto because it's a beast to handle when it's unloading. No matter how hard you attempt to hold the rifle down as you're firing, it's going to climb. On semi setting, you can continue to scope and never have the target out of your scope like you would from other rifles because there's just about zero kick on single shot mode. You could drop a group of 6 players in no time because you didn't have to refocus the scope at the next target. Killed a lot of players in America's Army with it...1 bullet between the eyes...wish I would have kept track of how many head-shots I did in that game..I know it was a lot. Here's the specs: The VSS is normally fed from a 10-round magazine and fired semi-automatically. Should the operational need arise, the weapon can be used in fully automatic mode using either its original 10-round magazine or the 20-round magazines from the AS rifle. It uses a heavy subsonic 9×39 mm SP-5 cartridge. Subsonic ammunition is used to avoid a sonic boom. The bullet is very effective at penetrating body armor. For this purpose it is equipped with a hardened steel or tungsten tip to penetrate a 6 mm (0.2 in) high-density steel plate at 100 m; a 2 mm (0.08 in) steel plate or a standard army helmet can be fully penetrated at 500 m; however, the rifle is typically employed under 400 m.

Who's crying? Not me...I'm just giving you facts...do you really think server hopper numbers are low? If I was going to guess I'd say 60% of the players go into servers that are zero to 8 players to loot...where do you think the line should be drawn? At Zero? At one? At 6? Look how large the loot area is....6 players is like 1 on a server. It's not me bitchin' and crying about either one of them....but in my view there's no difference. Both are cheap ways to get around in the game.

So I'm running along heading to another town up north and I come across a rabbit sitting in this bare patch of ground and I decide to try shooting it with my 45. Now keep in mind I'm miles away from a town....so I fire off two rounds at his a$$ while he was sitting up on his hind legs. BAM....what the heck....for a second I thought momma rabbit had come to kick my ass......I get a notice...you are bleeding!! WTF....I turn around and a freakin' Z come out of nowhere and was attacking me! I had to pull out my axe and as I buried it deep in his head I told him....I don't really care if it was your pet rabbit or not.... When I turned back around.....no rabbit!! Figures! That Z ruined my nice black tactical shirt too. So if you come across a rabbit.......at least use an axe if you plan on attacking it! :D

VSS and I'd throw all my other weapons away. (Mosin, 45, 357...hmm...might keep my axe) They should also make the VSS come apart so you can pack it in your backpack. This is 1 all around weapon here....deadly to 400 yds...single or auto select. Problem with auto select is the gun wants to climb as you're firing, so if you're shooting at someone in a house..you need to aim at their knee caps THEN pull the trigger....it'll run right up their body and about cut them in two! The scope screen takes some getting use to with the chart built into the lens but she's a perfect weapon. If Russia would allow exporting them, I'd get a class III license just to own one of these bad boys!

If you're going to bitch about server hopping...then you should be adding 3rd person view into it too...that is no different. Looking over walls and around corners is just as much BS as server hopping. Both of them need to be fixed if any of them. Players can use any excuse on why they play 3p....but the bottom line is they're using a cheat plain and simple. A true character wouldn't be able to look over walls or around corners and at the same time stay out of the line of sight of those on the other side. They should just fix 3p to where if you have a weapon in your hand you're in 1p view period. And as far as server hoppers go.....they probably don't care if you put 4 hrs on it...they'll just hop to a server that's empty and run around gearing up....don't believe me? Go to twitch and watch about every other streamer show you how to server hop to get gear....server hopping is about as popular as 3pp is. I bet if you ask a server popper why he does it....he'd give you as many excuses as the 3p does for using theirs. So blah blah blah...this group bitchin' about this group......and this group bitchin' about this group... just freakin' play the game as you want to and don't worry about how someone else is playing it. I don't like KOS or the Bandits.....but that's how they play the game....maybe they should be timed out for 2 hours when they kill another player for no reason (this is where a KOSer or Bandit will reply with their excuse as to why there's nothing wrong with shooting and robbing another player). :rolleyes: :lol:

I'm probably 5 minutes away from you but question a fully geared person that's at an airfield and that you only have a few posts on here. I'd only help you if you crawled out and took everything off you...backpack...weapons, pistols, ammo... I'm not interested in any of your gear...I have plenty on me. If you're talking about the big airfield north of GM...I can be there in 5 minutes. PM me if ONLY you agree to come out of the building and remove all your gear and crawl about 10 ft. away from it.. Then I'll give you some morphine...and let you go on your way with your gear. Empty server....if I see more than you and I on it...I won't be showing up. PM me your user ID on servers and I'll PM you back the server to use.

It's sucks....of course since there's so many players who hate the night time part of Dayz...there will be less bitchin' to get it fixed. I play about 99.9% night time...and I want it back asap!

If any of your members are up by GM...I have 3 extra morphine sticks I'm willing to give to them. Don't have too much of anything else to give...I am A+ blood type so I'd be willing to give a bag of blood also. PM on here to arrange to meet up...I'm not on TS...sorry. BTW...I am 150% friendly.

Something is going on with the Z's....tonight I only find 4 of them with hours in the game. I got so bored I fired my 45 at a couple just to see if it would bring more of them..1 that's it. Either enough people bitched about the Z's and the devs reset the level of hardness of the Z's or there's another bug that half the players will like and the other half won't...count me in the latter group. Yes, they can be a pain...but that's what they''re suppose to be......it's not suppose to be an easy game to play.

I've been playing on regular servers. Today I logged on to one and there was plenty of Z's and very laggy too...had a tough time connecting my axe to their heads! Fractured my arm and during the 4 hours of game play I probably bled 4 quarts of blood! Completely ruined my tactical shirt and black cowboy hat...them baztards!! Only thing that was black on me was my backpack....and don't think I haven't tried repeatedly to spray paint it with black spray paint....of course with no luck. Z's were so bad this morning I had to throw my 357 away to make room for bandages and food in my backpack. I started out with 2 full rolls of bandages, went through them within about an hour and a half, so my mission changed mid-stream to hunting for bandages to restock. I think I went through almost 4 full rolls during the 4 hours and one morphine Back on topic.....I sure hope there's nothing wrong with the night servers....the two times I've tried logging on to the regular servers that are scheduled for night time, ended up being daylight at 23:35 and 00:35...both servers should have been set at night but for some reason they were not. It's just not the same around GM during daylight hours!

OK, so I logged into a East coast server last night and two things were strange. 1. It was 0:35 am and it was light out. (No I wasn't on a server that was daylight all the time) 2. There was ZERO zombies in towns. I went to 6 different towns last night and didn't see the first Z the whole time. When the server restarted I joined another one and finally saw 3 Z's....but only 3 and I was in a pretty good sized town too. That's not normal at all. Have they changed something that I missed...patch? Update? Also, no...as far as I could tell no one had been to the town before me and cleaned up the Z's. All the doors were shut in the town and there was at least 12 players on the server (night time server OR at least it was suppose to be a night time server). Really weird. I don't like the daylight bug on a night server but it was really strange to not see the first Z in several hours of game play. Anyone else seen this before?

OK...fixed it. I deleted the files and BattlEye. Downloaded BattlEye again and dumped it into the Streamapp\common\Dayz\BattlEye folder and REBOOTED my computer before I launched Dayz again. A window popped up when I started Dayz that stated something about agreeing with their terms blah blah blah...clicked agree and I was able to get in and stay in the game for over an hour+. So it's fixed. Thanks for everyone's help.
