No.1 rule of DayZ - Stick with your buddy(ies). Make sure you guys have 1 dedicated "helper" - the Doc - the Mule. We had a session with 3 legs broken because of ladders and walls. Gladly our Doc had two splints and morphine for all. Teamwork wins over bugs until they are solved. Going alone I rather not take the risks. Greed shalt never triumph.

IIRC battleye is not DayZ exclusive. Sometimes the comms to BE timeout and we get dumped from a server. BE ban as i understand it completely bans you from using your steam account in certain games? Not sure, but something along those lines. -

I reckon the discussion is not about preference but WHY the camera aspect is so blatantly different. @Ghostflux - the camera angle opens as you move it back so to keep the same FoV. Both 1 and 2 have same aspect. There are no independent FoV controls and it would make no sense. If the Devs want to balance it they know exactly what to change. -

Yep. Apocalypse crafting is one of the things i hope the most out of this game. Ability to create, combine and put to use.

3PP should automatically close the FoV by 30º to compensate the camera position. Would solve the issue. -

If beards ever get introduced ( and hair ) one option would be to: - the more you hop the more hair you lose. - therefore a bald character would be easy to identify and a half-ass-bearded dude would be hilarious. - streak of hours in same server would enable the hair and manly beard to grow thick and strong :rolleyes: -

That is a proper apocalypse individual transportation method. Carts + Extinguisher = vroom for a bit.

I hop servers. My group hops servers. We hop when population gets low. Hopping looking for trouble and good fire fights. We don't mind the timers. -
Nope. IIRC some dudes were manning their base in the mod, for some time, 24/7 with their worldwide group. Eventually it got overrun. I guess it was a great week for everyone involved. Human comms ( skype, TS, steam, PM, ... ) will give you the alarm you need... as long as you have your buddies there. IF not ? Tough luck. Make a nomad base when tents and other cool beans are implemented.

OR, to end the silly discussion going on... ... stick the GUNS to the server. Only basic survival items go through the hopping. Sounds better than the timer now ? Welcome to hopping and hoarding simulator. -
WHEN and IF they implement a balance in weaponry - 95% civilian types ( shottie, revolver, blaze ) and 5% military issued - then this idea would be great. IF not, then use it for common loot. +1 for good suggestion.

Should be implemented AFTER all diseases system are in place and properly implemented, not before. -
The timeout message for server restart shows up after you connection has been down for almost a minute. Meaning most of the actions you took in the last 30 secs are null. The server restart takes close to a minute and you can immediately connect after you exit to server list.

True. As it stands now I agree. In the future with more permanent and persistent options - read. dynamic loot, bases - that obstacle will be overcome. In all games two thirds of the server barely reach a third of the slots. Popular servers will always be popular and as we have now most servers are owned by groups, meaning their own members will ensure the timer should not be that long ? The whole timer scene is awkward but can evolve to a more complex scenario and eventually spring some nifty admin toolset to deal with loggers and hoppers, like a signature timer as we have now. 30 minutes in a server will reset all your timer clock. 30 minutes is enough to get yourself proper survivor basic needs. -

Better suggestion would be: - the more players there are in a server the less time to log in - 120/180 seconds for a 39/40 - the less players the more time to log in - 20 mins for a 1/40 Would force the Easy Mode plebs to rethink their methods. Saying this because most groups that go through the DayZ process in one server, one go, eat them hoppers alive when fire fights begin - yes, logging is now a bitch isn't it ? - , and I expect the quality of gameplay ( read "player team skills" ) to improve over time instead of getting lost in loot loopholes.Nothing worse than facing off a group which gets slaughtered like lambs because they know nothing more than hoarding stuff and hopping. Relog timer has improved quality gameplay regarding server population, but a computer mechanic will never improve human nature, no matter how idiot it is at its most basic. -
Call me a fundamentalist, but I am more of the opinion that Easy and Normal should be removed from Public Hive and let it be Private hive options. With the camera changes ( they are slight but damn make a whole difference ) in experimental yesterday, 1PP is better than ever. Plus the removal of 3PP camera advantage is no big deal once you have your apocalypse gang going on and teamwork makes up for that advantage.

Was up 'till late on the server 0-1 80 slots hardcore The performance is immense. On the negative side, whenever a player with horrible latency problems tries to login, everyone suffers until he time's-out with the 10k desync. So far, regarding stability, the mentioned is the only issue. All the rest seems to be greatly improved. Suffice to say that with all settings at Custom MAX I get the same performance in experimental as I get now in production hive with High settings. Great to read that all hardware major companies got interest in the game and gave it a great push. Now, onto the damn netcode and please just please, make a buffer zone for new server connections instead of immediatelly trying to connect them, as these huge latency players completely messes up everyone else for an entire minute. -
spawn delay is nice, but 300 seconds is way too long

Spawn time should be tied with number of players in a server. The less players the more time. The more player the less time to the minimum of 180 secs for a 39/40. -
Disagree. Let them play their survival dream the way they enjoy. Nothing more rewarding than hunting them down. For example, yesterday, one KoS in a undisclosed location... I volunteered to die ( did die twice ) so we could flush him out. He got shot once, didn't die and tried to make a run for it downstairs. Tough luck, our third man was already inside. He died like a coward. Jumped off the rooftop.
