Sorry dont have much to add but I love these ideas. Especially the idea of the risk/reward system depending on HOW you go about unlocking the doors. Fast but noisy or slow but silent. :) -
I dont know about a Train but I would love to see Handcars. You know those things with the seesaw in the middle that you pump up and down to propel it down the tracks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handcar

It may not have to be 1:1 but the mouse movement needs fixing. It currently feels very unnatural and sometimes makes me a bit motion sick in its current form. I am all for the OPs suggestions. -
I got to say I remember when I used to actually BETA test games over a decade ago from home. The company would send me the discs in the real mail and I would report bugs through email. Those BETAs were in much worse shape then what many companies call ALPHA today. I feel ALPHAs and BETAs have completely lost their meaning in the last couple of years. As you can see on steam forums and here people expect that ALPHAs and BETAs be completely playable and not crash, as well as be feature complete. In the "old days" an ALPHA build would almost certainly be an unplayable broken mess of ideas. DayZ is currently very stable and playable for an ALPHA.

I love this idea. It would be pretty simple to implement too. As others have said dont make it public and no kill stats, just your survival times beside you character at the main menu.

people need to understand that DayZ is Zombie apocalypse GAME and not PVP deathmatch

PVP is integral to the game for sure but what I dont like about this community so far is that many people do treat the game as a PVP deathmatch game and dont understand why people want to play PVE too. This game is called DayZ, its about the zombie apocalypse, it is advertised as a zombie survival game and right now there really isnt a zombie apocalypse feeling at all. The core of the game needs to be about zombie fighting, not player fighting. They should focus on the zombies in the upcoming updates as much as possible, build up the core game and the PVP aspect will still thrive. People will still fight for resources, but at least they have more of a reason to team up and work together to survive the zombie apocalypse rather then run by the 1 zombie to kill 10 guys on sight. -
How to fix KoS and banditry with this great system

ZOMBIES. Yup that is pretty much the solution I see to the KOS problem. The more the danger from zombies the more people will want to work together to survive. The bandits will want to group up too to protect themselves from the zombies as much as to attack other players. Being a lone bandit will be a hard life, and it should be. -

To the guys saying this is Alpha, we know. The point of alpha is to test and offer to suggestions to help the development of the game. Improving animations seems like a pretty good suggestion. -
It is fixing 3pp or breaking the EXPLOIT if you want to use the word breaking. If people want to play 3rd person because they like to look at their character or they get motion sickness then that is fine, but being able to see over objects, around/through walls is an exploit. The fourth wall idea is so far the best solution I have seen to this issue. It just shows you the same information that you would get in 1pp. The idea behind this thread is not to remove 3pp but to make it balanced with 1pp. There should be no advantage to using either, it should just be a personal choice.

ZOMBIES. I want to the next updates to focus on zombie AI, zombie animations, and performance optimizations to handle tons of zombies. The game name is DayZ and right now I dont see too many Z in the Day while travelling. I think focusing on the zombies would help with the survival aspect of the game too because it will make people band together a lot more to fight off the zombies rather than KOS.
