My games are DayZ:SA get about 40-50fps atm with: Phenom II x4 955 Black edition x4 GTX660 4GB RAM Asus mobo I'm hoping that with my new PC this jumps but primarily i want high fps in games like Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs and Star Citizen when it comes out. With my current build i get 200+ fps on Counter Strike GO so that's not an issue haha. The Intel looks like the way to go and i can OC in the future if needed with the K series just trying to outweigh the cost.

Yeah i don't think future proofing exists in PC gaming :/ but at the same time i'm not going to be one of the people that sit on the edge of the wall and repeatedly say i'll wait for the next gen... Think i'll go for the 4670k and a Z97 mobo then. At the end of the day i want FPS from my CPU and GTX 760 and bang for buck. If i can achieve the same/close FPS with on current/future games with a 6300 non OC/OC then i will go with that if i'm going to get higher FPS in current/ future games with an i5 i'll go for that! The fact the AMD is only £80 and the Intel is £150 makes a big difference so is it worth it?

After reading reviews i'm still pushed in the way of the 6300. Can't tell what is fanboyism and what is true :S

Reckon this will stick in the future. Just feels backwards when i have a Phenom II 955 Black edition x4 (quad core) @ 3.6ghz going for a 3.4 GHz processor. Is this a worthwhile upgrade and will it future proof me by going haswell. I've just seen the mobos you were on about so i'd go for a Z97 chipset rather than a 87.
-
For the Haswell processors? I'm looking at a Z87 motherboard to go with the Intel, Are you saying that performance on this could be increased with a new mobo chipset?
-
Any reasoning why? I could OC the 6300 and the 6 cores would future proof??? Am i wrong?

Okay so i'm doing a new build. My current system as pretty much alright for DayZ:SA get around 40-50fps but it could be higher. The main reason for the upgrade is Battlefield 4. I'm mainly doing a new build cause i can sell my current for a good price, Add £100-£150 and have newer architecture. So the two cards i've narrowed down in my price range are: MSI Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 and the MSI R9 270X 4GB GDDR5 I've always been a Nvidia Fanboy and was an Intel fan boy until my last CPU (Phenom X4 955 125w Black Edition @ 3.2GHZ OC'd to 3.6GHZ) Should i try ATI and will i find out the same thing i did with my last AMD processor? Or will i be disappointing? So GPU Boss says the GTX 760 is better by a fraction! Is that true? http://gpuboss.com/gpus/MSI-Radeon-R9-270X-Gaming-OC-4-GB-vs-MSI-GeForce-GTX-760 Some of that parts i already have i.e HDD, PSU and RAM so i'll just be moving them over. Any suggestions and i know it's only a mid-range system but that's what i want to spend! I've got festivals to pay for! My price I've worked it out for is £443 excluding RAM, HDD, DVD Drive and PSU Just for you nosey people this is my new build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3PkEZ

Lovely i'll get the 760 just wanted to make sure :)
-
Yeah that's what i figured! Don't think i'll be doing any 4k gaming anytime soon either unless it becomes an industry standard which i doubt!
-
It will never make it. Other releases will come and overtake the development/overshadow DayZ:SA. There are many examples which have come to light and it is only a matter of time. The Arma 3 Engine is flawed outdated and other game engines will make better games of this genre.

Right i've been thinking of picking myself up a new gaming headset after selling my iolite WISPR v2 portable vape that i don't use. Initially i had the Corsair Vengeance 1500 7.1 v2 in mind: http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vengeance-1...headset-v2 Only £45 from a local retailer. Reviews are great but then i got put off by the fact it's USB only so i wouldn't be able to use it on my xbox 360 or my raspberry pi. My other option was a Roccat Kave 5.1. I really sold myself on this down to the fact that the audio is real 5.1/has positioned speakers in the headset. It's not going to be as good as a proper surround sound system but i want some surround aspect. The only thing that puts me off is the poor performance in everywhere besides games. http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-So...-Kave-5-1/ £52 from online retailer Another option is Logtech G35 http://gaming.logitech.com/en-gb/product...ng-headset It has some great reviews and features but only has the USB connection but i can get it for £52 So what the fuck do i go for. I just want a good gaming headset with surround sound/virtual surround capabilities. It will primarily be used for gaming but some films and music. If the music quality was that bad i've got a expensive pair of in ear headphones but i'd like a all round headset for when i'm at my gaming PC. Can anyone help me out? Does anyone have these headsets? Regards, P3NN

Very useful it was worth picking your brains! Thank you!
-
I like the Razer krakens but they don't have any external controls and aren't 7.1 but default! Think i'd go for the Roccats i listed above over them but am i wrong?
-
Can you recommend a good headset in the £50 range then? I would go to my audiophile friends but they'll end up make me spend stupid amounts..
-
Anyone got any ideas which ones they go for out of my preferred choices? I think I've pretty much narrowed it down to between the Roccat and the Logitech
-
Never rated Turtle Beach headsets as the build quality just seems poor and the audio specs are awful! If you can convince me otherwise please do! Interesting i'll have a look into that now!

SWINGS AND ROUNDABOUTS. Do you play GTA V Online? That is a sandbox game with a bounty system and a lot more flexibility than Day Z SA. Does that stop people KOS on that no. Do people complain about it on GTA V? No. Yes the game is less serious but you play Day Z SA for realism, the adrenaline when you're about to loose all your gear and to be serious. People shouldn't complain about a fundamental of the game which is not a problem.

Grim saggy bum! You can find that anywhere in America.

Sounds like your misunderstanding, inexperience and blame is the source your dissatisfaction. The game works, Yes it is a little glitchy here and there but surprise surprise ALPHA it's not finished yet. I love the game. Will the game ever be completed? I doubt it highly... Maybe you should go play Rust it's a bit less serious and you may find it more "fun" for your requirements.

I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY. STOP CRYING.

So the backpacks you have suggested are pretty much already in the game. Waste the devs time MORE PLEASE
