Is there an apartment complex loot map?
Judopunch replied to commanderbash's topic in General Discussion
I generally find 'house' loot items on the top floors of the apartments, but never other floors. Often its not wort the climbing for a can and a shirt. -
Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557

I wish they would update the op. The tweet was awfully nondescript. "Delayed" could mean minutes, ours, days.... -
One of the reasons people server hop is lack of things to do other than get guns and shoot other players. Because loot doesnt respawn in a server unless it is reset, you are not as rewarded for exploration. Because there are only 50 people per server, you may not find people inland. Because all the action happens at the coast because of the above you want to be 'in the action'. Because there are not yet enough zeds fireing a weapon in an urban area is not a bad idea. On top of that just getting the gear as fast as you want degrades your experience of the game. You arent attached to your one unique life. You dont die, you re-spawn via proxy. Part of the experience of this game, is the value of your life, and the punishment of death. It is unique. Cod, CS, and other games do not offer this unique adrenalin high, because your playing with hours of your time if you fuck up even once. By proxy respawing your are lessening the consequence of your action and diluting your experience with this unique game. When the game changes, including possibly server jumping limits, the game about survival, zombie, collection of useful items, and player interaction will be much different. But because this is in alpha, its basically call of day Z. Until hacking, server jumping, gameplay, zombies and everything else come to fundamental change the game. People will be playing it as an FPS. Just my .02 from observation. I personally cant wait for it to be more of a survival game and less of an fps. Edit; the searching for that one weapon you want, makes your experience much more deep when you find it. And the consequences much steeper when you loose it. Think beyond instant gratification.

This can also cause some of the 'fade in fade out' of light. You will notice if you go into a building your eyes adjust. The same if clouds go over the sun or you enter a Forrest, your 'eyes' attempt to mimic real life. However there are of course a couple bugs.

This is a game we are talking about. That takes inspiration from real life. It is not, in fact, real life.

"We estimate that reaching Beta version with all key features present will take more than one year from current stage. All features and plans listed here are subject to change, we may add or remove features as seen fit during development process." WARNING: THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING. Its right there on the store page. I just dont understand why people complain about lack of content. Its frustrating because there are several threads like this one.

Please keep in mind that this is a game. Games make sacrifices for balance and usability. Perhaps for fresh spawns the k.o. chance is a bit high now, and could be looked at from a probability standpoint. However we dont know what kind of armor (save bike helmet's) health stamina and other balancing factors are going to or do effect the ko chance. Until gear/protection, and other systems are fully implemented this currently serves as a way to balance people with mil-spec gear and those with nothing. If you, and your rifle, are foolish enough to let someone get withing 15 feet of you thats your problem. Even in real life the minimum reaction distance is around 15 feet. There is a reason police always have people turn away, put up their hands, lace their fingers behind their head, and lay down on their face. tldr: alpha. Edit: My friend got suckerpunched IRL about 2 months ago. It broke his jaw in 5 places. Punching people in the face is serious business. He was eating through a straw for the last two months.

Well then your going to either get into an accident, or get a ticket, or get lucky and get neither. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. Same with said server.

Have zombies already ate half our brains or what? -3rd person view-
Judopunch replied to BrainlessZombie's topic in General Discussion
However there are some servers whos description is off -
Same here, I enjoy fighting the good fight. But I could not bandage my friend or un-sling my rifle. At that point its not combat logging, its lag logging.
-
Separate servers is probably the best. LOS becomes server hungry and un-intuitive. Just play world of tanks for about five minutes if you want an example. I personally love 1st person.

Oh shit, I think I know those guys. I run with them Ill hit them up when they are on :) If its my buddys they helped me get to my GF when we first spawned.

Did I miss something where they robbed you by taking your M4?

<<<< Grass density needs to be improved. >>>>
Judopunch replied to Zeeb (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
They will possibly be adding a grass overlay texture to player models when viewed at a distance. This will help players blend into the ground while not needlessly drawing more grass. The problem with adding more grass at a distance is it would crush most peoples computers. Even the good ones, very quickly. This suggestion I pointed out has a very good post on redit with some examples of how it would work, I think its a great idea. -
For now if you have 'invisible' zombies, I recommend making sure your not horribly desynced, and that you kill them before you move into buildings as they can bug out in the walls and floor.

I wish the devs would solely on fixing the game freezes first
Judopunch replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
That is not correct, the latest patch made a large stability increase. They are working on many of the major bugs at the moment, and most likely they are inter-related. Alpha. -
Were you running quickly from the coast to electro?
-
We could also talk about why flying to the moon wouldnt be a good idea. Perhaps through good discussion we would realise that it was a good idea (i dont think it is) However vehicles will be in the game. It is prudent now to stipulate on what kind and how the impact of vehicles, from bikes to airplanes, will have on the game and players. Players often have good ideas, and mining information from a lot of people can be beneficial for developers. By talking about the impact of helicopters, and different ways to tune them either by controls, parts, ect, we can help the developers explore the design space they are no doubt already working in with fresh outside perspectives. Saying 'why are we talking about this' seems short sighted.

Sounds like admin abuse to me, they probably have teleport commands. The issue could be due to an unofficial/non-whitelisted server?

people need to understand that DayZ is Zombie apocalypse GAME and not PVP deathmatch

Thanks for the updates! We are very excited! -
After looking at your work I greatly appreciate the amount of work you did. There are just a lot of people that claim things they dont know anything about. By being detailed and shairing your methods you can help everyone be more educated and distinguish yourself from the drivel!

point is if you take the three posts you just made. Add them to the OP, you'd have one really good post. Instead of a post at face value that doesnt offer much in the way of reasoning or evidence. Like there is suddenly a lot more real information in this thread than some guy posting numbers that dont have any backing or methodology.
