The game is not optimized right now. People with really good computers are sometimes having trouble, sometimes not. It all depends. Post your specs. However AMD processors really seem to suffer more than intels. The truth of the matter is this is not currently a game, its an alpha. If you dont know what that means I would suggest you wait about 6 months and come back.

You were most likely shot. Sometimes the sound doesnt register, or you were hit from a very long ways away.
-
Provided you have a couple hundred rounds you can probably get 200m. After that wind, environment become problems. Going prone, moving with a heavy rifle, zeroing windage, compensating for the environment, time to target, are all beyond what you could learn in a couple hundred rounds. And yet again, in real life you dont aim guns with a mouse. Learning to correctly shoulder and squeeze the trigger properly are non intuitive. Making the guns less accurate is a game balance decision. If you want a simulator for sniping go try Arma III it looks fun. The game DayZ, is a survival horror sandbox with emphasis on player interaction, not how well you can head shot people from 600M

Than no one in the game should be able to hit anything past about 200m. Making it realistic would mean you need to make it so that these 'survivers' who washed up on a beach dont have sniper training. Even 100M with any consistency would be pretty good for someone untrained. Point is its a game. And there needs to be reasonable amounts of compromise because in real life you dont use a mouse to fire a 7.62.

I really enjoyed that :)

Rain -> FPS drop (it is not the rain, but still FPS drop )
Judopunch replied to zv0n3's topic in General Discussion
I will not read your belligerent immature postings. Though you raise a good point, your constant spam and capital letter have instead lead me to report you as an offencive person. We can do without you. Please think about how others view your behavior if you want their support. Good day. -
Its not the Rain, there is a massive Memory Leak.
Judopunch replied to blissfulkunt's topic in General Discussion
Like I said, im sure there will be a couple bad patches that make this one look like a walk in the park. Until beta rolls around, and even after there are going to be crazy problems with every patch. But I understand the frustration, we all love the game and want to play :) -

Though it may be frustrating please bear with them. They are adding massive chunks to the core of the game. Im sure we will have MUCH worse than this before they are done. -
I give up, what are the other two words?

Server Hopping has become godlike post patch
Judopunch replied to ASDF991's topic in General Discussion
I cant wait tell the OP realizes instead of hopping he can get just as much loot by running. And will be somewhere other than an airfield after an hour. -
Its the weather.

Optimization can do a LOT. And like others have said, the mod had most listed features and ran ok. Im sure with the engine reworks this game will run much better and be able to do much more.

The patch broke something. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle! -
The new logout system is bad. Very, very bad.
Judopunch replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
The server rolling your back to another position and being able to watch yourself log out are not related issues. waiting only 30 seconds is not to much to ask, even if you are blind. There are various harms if you allow players to see the world around them while they log out. It enables door/corner camp combat logging for example. -
Pending Changelog: Experimental branch: 0.34.XXXXX
Judopunch replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Not sure if this is on your radar, but there are several buildings that never spawn loot. I recall rocket saying 'all buildings can spawn loot'. This is not true. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/170764-lootable-buildings-are-becoming-an-endagered-species/?hl=%2Bloot+%2Bspawn for more information. -
How do I carry more than 3 weapons at a time?
Judopunch replied to ImDeafDontShootMe's topic in New Player Discussion
Generally its not wort the risk. I use a primary and a pistol. If I have an M4 i have never had a reason to switch to the pistol. I use the pistol to clear close quarters if i have a Mosin. I tryed having a Mosin and an M4 but the hassle of not dropping the one in my hands was never worth it. I have also never lived long enough to use more than 150 rounds of ammo. There was a post on how much amo/weapons people averaged using before they got killed. Its probably around 20 rounds for the mosin and two 60 round mags for the M4. There are exceptions depending on how you play, but generally more than that is a waste. -
Ghosting can also mean that someone is watching the streamers stream, and ambushes them. Though I would wager it doesnt happen as often as they say it does. Combat logging and bhopping (moving in a 'safe server to attack someone in another server) was set back in the last patch. There is now a logout timer, and if you attempt to switch servers to quickly you get a 300 second timer.

Cheater / WallHacker caught on tape. Hope this stuff gets ironed out
Judopunch replied to Ponder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
You caught a 'you are dead' screen on tape. There are at least 3 places he could have shot you from. I mean, I cant say your friend did not see anything. But all you caught on your recording is you dieing no hacking. -
Im not sure who that was directed at, or what it means. You still have not provided a compelling case, or suggested a viable alternative. From what you say, you and your friends like to switch servers all the time for whatever reason. The game developers and most of the community would rather you stay in one server for the majority of your time.

Lootable Buildings are Becoming an Endagered Species
Judopunch replied to DarkwaveDomina's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like they are getting closer to getting it right than. Food should be an issue. Survival, yada yada.... -
Not sure what a 'forest troll' is. Sounds like avoiding players you dont like. Did you just invent pre-combat logging? People are part of the game, if you arnt willing to deal with people you should stop playing. This also sounds like you guys ghost. Also your friends sound like they have the attention span of 7 year olds. If they cant stay in one server for longer than 300 seconds, you have bigger problems. Dont take your groups problems and think that they are more important than the overall scope of the million people that have this game.
