That pretty much sums me up. There is a lot of needless bellyaching and entitlement that comes across on these forums. I probably take it more personally than I should. And my point is you didnt ask a question, you made a statement. In my interpretation the previous posters went through all the trouble to bake you a cake, and you said I wish someone made pie. Would you announce that IRL if someone came in and handed you a cake they spent time making? I just want people to think about how they come off in the bigger scheme. I probably come off as an asshole most of the time, but often people can only comment on the way I carry out my opinion and not actually defend their original position (my second biggest pet peeve). If there is any additional information you would like please do ask.

I find for general in town shooting 200M is pretty good if you are aming at center mass. The small lines indicate shoulder width of the target, as explained in the diagrams on the first page.

Regardless, private hives, loot economy, and many other aspects as yet to be introduced into the game are going to have a profound effect on how it is played and received.

Bullets fall over time because of gravity. Therefore to hit something further away you actually need to aim higher. Zeroing is adjusting your cross-hairs in order to have the center x intersect with the proper distance for the bullet to hit the target. In DayZ if your zeroing is at 300, putting your crosshairs on a target 300 away will impact in the center. However if you move the target and do not change your zero that is not the case. If you are still zeroed at 300 and are shooting at a target at 400 your point of impact will be BELOW the cross-hair, because gravity is pulling the bullet down. Conversely if you aim at a target that is 200 M away while zeroed at 300 the bullet will impact ABOVE where the cross-hair is. Therefor understanding your approximate range becomes very important, especially at more than 300 as the drop of the bullet becomes very significant over time. Trivia of the day. Exactly what cav guy said. Your problem, op, seems to be you think saying 'im friendly im new' is supposed to give you super powers. It wont. It makes you an easy target for people to ruin your day. You must first assume everyone wants to cause you harm until proven otherwise, and even than its hard to fully trust anyone you dont know IRL.

I like the danger the zombies are bringing. However their agro seems to be broken. Sometimes you can walk right in front of one and it will not agro, than suddenly you can agro one from inside a building 400m away. If you can sneak past them and what not it will probably alleviate getting utterly destroyed before you can get so much as a pointed stick to defend yourself with.

Use more mag-pull parts and check your zeroing. even with iron-sights I have never ever experience this, unless you are getting the shooting-the-ground glitch. If you have the QCB buttstock the accuracy of the weapon could behave as you described, but I have a hard time thinking that it would be 0/9 at 100 M even in that situation..

I believe they said you will be able to get sticks and what not out of the forest. As an aside; You classify this game as an FPS. But really its an interaction based horror survival game. I think the real question is not 'is it ok to break someones legs and leave them' but how anonymity allows for a lot of people to get away with this scott free. I think when we see private hives and regular players on servers if you want to be known as 'the duchebag that broke my legs in the middle of nowhere for sport' that will be on your head. However right now there is no community of people playing together, you are in effect completely and totally anonymous in your actions. Kill everyone, grief them, leave the server and go on to the next. Get gear in a 0/40 server, go back and grief again.

In real life do snipers use a mouse and keybord to aim in an environment that doesnt take into account heartbeat, fatigue, eye dryness, atmospheric pressure, wind, distraction, twisting the trigger, bugs landing on your face, amo that has been sitting in a box for god knows how long of cheap civilian quality?

Or, you know. They will get the combo, than kill you.

Id rather have a well balanced thought out game. If you want super realistic why arnt you playing arma or something? My fun would be greatly diminished if some camping prick could pick me off from 500m with one shot from an m4 while im getting a drink of water as a newspawn.
