When something is looted, another piece of loot spawns within 2km of that location. Currently there are cites filled to the roofs with loot, because no one has looted it for days because they are all looking in the same places. It also means that if you place a tent, or a backpack it will not disappear during server restart. This is not the final version, but most peoples problem is they never check the inland cites and continue to look in the same place the last 200 people looked before them.

Move away from the coast as fast as possible. On servers with persistence most spawn towns will be looted. On non persistent servers, if you are quick, there should be loot even in the spawn areas provided no-one beat you to it. You may also pick berrys (eat the red ones) Or apples. When you have an axe, matches, and rags you can hunt or fish and cook it on a fireplace. Watching a stream on twitch even for a few minutes will show you some common behaviors good or bad. However expect this game to be more difficult in the survival aspect then the mod ever was. This most likely won't change until modding support is allowed. From this point on in development i expect freezing to death, starving, and getting clean water will be serious concerns.

Well since there was no reply… The bug I know of is if you join through the steam overlay (Shift+tab) you can loose control of your game. Solutions include, hitting shift+tab again. Or joining through the server browser instead (sort by friends in the server browser).

It takes months to make these changes. This is an Alpha and its running better then some released games. It won't be finished for another couple of years. If this is not acceptable to you please come back then. It was made abundantly clear that this game is unfinished and under development. Complaining is not helpful, nor is it valuable feedback. Especially if is uninformed.

You need to educate yourself and stop talking out of your ass. general if your sprinting forwards when you draw your weapon you continue moving as you draw.

We killed 30 people in an hour camping Elecktro with 3pp hax. Just lay on the roof, stand pull trigger, lay down.

I was under the impression, from dev blogs and discussions, that one of the major flaws and problems of the arma engine is that it doesnt render only what your camera can see. And that its the major cause of fps drops. However the un-optimized high polly nature of most of the buildings as discussed in this thread also seems to be part of the problem.

Its probably going on with the work on the rendered. Hopefully this is only going to make the game more awesome!

I think its more about how many of them there are lying around. And you start with the battery. Make a good placeholder tell you can find an axe or a picaxe. However on .5 experimental i was one shoting zombies with a hoe......

items within items disappear on server restart. If the server decides to rearange items within the packs, but can not solve a place to put them it will delete them. Longer or taller items are the most problematic.

I think it still takes one less hit even with the cattleprod. Isnt it 3 to kill for body shots? I think its two with head-shots. Given that the battery drains so quickly you probably want to swing as few times as possible...

Why on gods green earth would you assume that. Because your wrong. Head shots deal significantly more damage, and knock out the zombies after 2 or 3 first hits allowing you to pummel them when they fall..

Was there a reason for the high poly count? I know that the engin is old and that they are using instances of the trees and buildings. I would assume this is left over design from before displacement and bump mapping techniques were as good as they are today. Can you shed some light on this?

Unless the developers are testing the temperature system and the players reaction to being cold. Or its bugged.

However, when your in a city, you still render areas of the forest around the city. By eliminating this massive amount of waste you would get more fps everywhere. If the trees are this bad, I can only imagine how bad the rest of their models are. I hope that when they replace the rendered they will also be able to work on things like this.
