    On the first .50 branch i ran into about 8 other players. They were so busy trying not to starve/freeze to death that we ended up having a nice chat.

    What is "Fully Geared" to you?

    Do painkillers do anything? I thought they didn't.
  5. Actually I dont think you even die from blood loss. You die from health loss and loose health when your blood is gone. I believe the game has 'vital areas' also. Headshot or heart-shots are instakill as far as I know. Not sure about the heart but I believe that it was there for a bit.
  6. Firestations and sometimes police stations are especially bad about this. If you have high amounts of lag it makes the problem worse. I would avoid the types of buildings that kill you when you have your gear until the navmesh gets tightened up. It is a known bug and I have had it before, when I have things i go slower in those types of buildings and avoid them if the server is laggy.

    How do I not panic/shake when I get in a gunfight?

    Go into your situations with a plan and understand your gear. Practice shooting tacticly at zombies when you have the chance. Remember your plan, practice it. The shaking isnt what is killing you, its the panic. I get MASSIVE addrenilin too. The difference is years of games and real life experience have trained me to act in various situations, I can thank paintball for some of it! If you dont have experiance to draw on you have a couple choices. You can use iintelligenceto learn. You can learn from arma 3, the combat is very similar it would help you get over the awkward mechanics of ranged combat in DayZ. You can watch streams or videos of people in combat situations. When you do either of these things think about what happened. Why did one person come out on top over another? Was it aim? Awareness? Setup? When you die, reflect on what happened and what choices you made that led to your death. Think about at least one alternative action you could have tryed. You could also use in game practice. Fimilerize yourself with weapons, learn how they shoot and what effects accuracy. Have a plan for what to do if your in a building and you see/hear a hostile. Have a plan for what to do in a city outside when you see or hear a hostile. Have a plan for small towns and woods. Go over that plan a few times. When you hear that gunshot make a choice. Ask 'was that shooting at me'? If yes, move! Move to cover as quickly as possible until you have more information. If the bullet hit right next to you the next one wont miss, moving is your only choice because of how you have to ready weapons. If the fire is not at you, or distant, do you investigate or run? If you choose either choose how you will use cover to move around and what your goal is. Always know if you are willing to fight or if flight is your best option. However be warned, because of the godlike camera in third person, if you are playing that, flight becomes harder unless you have distance and cover.
  8. Seems to be either shock damage, had this happen when my friend is fireing a shotgun close to me very often. It could also be some kind of suppression effect for bullets hitting close to you. It could also be a hit on you that didnt penetrate your gear inflicting shock damage. It seems intentional, even if not consistent yet.

    Ah yes, you fell through the floor. I would recomend against logging out in buildings and especially on the airfield. Though the building could have eaten you anyways just for walking on it. Has happened to three of my characters.

    Requirements to make Tents work

    Thes is exactly what most likely happened. My friends and I always leave at least the last lower right slot empty as draging in an item refreshes the inventory. Also long or awkward sized items can be deleted if the server 'organizes' the loot tetris but cant find a place to put it. I would recommend trying to find an empty slot in your tent with a small item or if you can have a friend see something and drag it out.
  16. Well the development message has never once changed. Its frustrating to see the uninformed masses jumping on the developers and complaining about things every single day. The things I say definitivly I say because I am confident in what I say. (I however admit when I am wrong) The development message has never changed, it has only increased in scope. The largest two problems with the development of this game was the lack of easily accessible information before the dev-blogs, which fed the the uninformed bellyaching. That is definitive, as if you spend some time poking around on redit you will find basically the same information coming from rocket that you just linked from Brian. Do you disagree? Or is my definiteness justified? -regards Judo
  17. Err. Well I guess this we disagree on. Rocket was/is the goal driven leader. He just sucks at PR. Your statement is funny, because as far as I know Hicks was hired by Rocket. Thus Rocket is ultimatly making great decisions about the games design LOL. Im glad your happy with the development. I hope you continue to reflect on your understanding of a very complicated situation and wish you luck.
  18. Thats kind of what happens when you make millions of dollars and hire dozens and dozens of people to make your game.... How has any of this changed? We are still working on the original vision. Mostly just getting around communication problems.
  19. Ya I think my biggest criticism of the entire development of this game I ever had was that i needed to to hunt for the information. Until the dev-blogs, it was hard to track down anything specific unless you were already looking for it all the time. Dev blogs pretty much solved everything on that front.
  20. Fair enough. I think the perception of the community is that they have any clue about what is happening with the actual overall direction of the game at any given point. In reality we only have a small window to look in from. People then complain about everything not meeting their expectations but they have no context for expectations, either with the time it takes or how the process actually works. The development message has not changed scene day one. Do you think all this criticism from people that know nothing about game development or the current status of said development is fair now that you have had a slightly better look into the window?

    Although, isolating 'problem players' is virtually impossible as far as I know. The only methods of viewing player information are either hacks or if you kill them fast enough to get their pulse. Therefore you wont be kicking a hacker out of 40 people any time soon, nor will you be able to easily identify whos hacking. If this is not the case and anyone can give more info Id love to know. Otherwise having the kick option is rather pointless at this juncture.

    I am sure that this won't be the final implementation. Even with my monster computer I loose FPS in those apartments, checking dozens of rooms is seizure inducing.

    Come on, Man.

    Couple things. You didn't mention if you checked for zombies. You implied you logged out on an airfield. You implied you logged out in a building. You rejoined the server immediately after it crashed or restarted. These are four no-no's in dayZ at this stage of development.
