Need motivation to play 3p view servers

Read his post. Its nearly impossible to find a 1p server that has more than 8 people in it.

I magically broke my legs. Guess where.

There are about 100 other posts about this already.
  4. Your confusing testing with and playing with new content. We are testing backend changes right now. They already know that interaction with animals works.

Horrible FPS in cities after recent patches

They are also optimizing this part of the game engine.

    Do you love it?

There is some good discussion on exactly how much this game can get to people in this thread http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/212840-how-do-i-not-panicshake-when-i-get-in-a-gunfight/

    Low Fps whit gaming pc?

The game is going over many heavy under the hood changes. Expect a drastic increase in performance when its released (in a year or more) but for now there isnt much you can do. .49 was great for me, .50 on the exp servers lost me about 10 fps in citys. Also try this: http://dayzintel.com/dayz-standalone/dayz-standalone-performance-guide

Sudden instant death and player Hit Points

Unless this is bugged.... Also I thought you had 5000 HP.

    Tents loose stored items

Items within items, in a tent, more often then not will be lost upon server restart. Items that can not be resolved when the server reshuffles the container on restart will be lost. Long items are especially bad, the server trys to stack everything from left to right up to down, if it cant fit it gets deleted. Items 'vanish' because the client requesting the contents of containers is bugged. Leave a couple slots in the lower right hand cornor of the tent. Drag an item into the empty slot. Items not displayed will refresh and appear.

The term bandit what it means now

The first iteration of the .5 on exp was breathtaking. Everyone starving to death, not enough food or weapons to go around. People more concerned with a fire and hunting then running straight to the firestation in Elecktro to shoot someone...... Then they made it easy again :*(
  11. There do seem to be a few more animal spawns on the exp servers. However provided you know where to look they arent that uncommon. Thats how we survived in the first iteration of the .50 hardmode. We were constantly hunting and cooking, it was actually very engaging we never quite had enough food or equipment. ... Then they dumbed it down and made it super easy again :/ To more directly answer your question, they dont add like 100 animals because they are still working on the server infrastructure that handles AI and re-spawning. They know that on the basic level the animals work. The next and harder part is to get the server to work with more animals/zombies. It is one of the biggest most programming intensive tasks they have and ties into every aspect of the game. When they get the optimization tackled then they can add more relatively easily. With the new features its mostly the same reason. They are hard-coding most of the new content as opposed to just scripting it in. This takes a lot more time. They are literally rebuilding massive parts of the underlying structure of the game. The features we are testing are not simply 'the new gun' or 'the cows', they are 'client server archetecture, sync, stability, security, rendering, yada yada yada that you wont ever see. In short we will get it its just a huge ball of crap that they are starting to sort out and get it just the way they want it. I am looking forward to continuing my adventures in this game :)

    Those Dumb Zombies !

I do try to be helpful as best I can. But it still wears on me :/ Especially because there is about 200 topics on this already...

    Those Dumb Zombies !

By the time he finished typing the subject line in there were about 10 threads that he was linked to that would have additionally answered his question. Had he put any effort whatsoever in looking he would have easily found one of the 100,000 topics about the exact same question. Thats the only problem I have with the OP.
  14. Just a couple thoughts on this. You say '"you have to be ok with some degree of server hopping". And as this unfolds we will see what degree that is. Right now server hopping is 'log in at NWAF, run through tents, logout repeat. Thats not ok, no matter how many times they have to do that. Now if the loot economy makes items rare enough that even if you join 20 servers your not going to find anything at the tents, then they can hop as much as they want to, and play the newest version of login simulator 2014. The idea of playing in different servers should not be the same idea as 'server hoping'. If you log into server A and play for 3 hours and log into server B and play for an hour are you hopping? I dont think so. I think you are playing the game. As for the shards and the community I think that the idea of NOT compartmentalizing the community is more damaging to the experience. Withouth 'that masked bandet on green mountain who keeps stealing my pants' everyone is just anonymous. You dont develop a relationship with the other survivors. "oh its those guys I helped hunt that deer a couple days ago, wonder what they have going on now". Now yes there is an advantage to having open servers and multiple experiences with random people but if I had to choose Id try for the private shards experiance over continually random experiences every time I log in. Bringing me to the point I spoke about in my previous post. Its simply to early to tell or suggest how loot should be distributed because we dont have a good grip on how the game is intended to be played. We have possibly half the survival mechanics in the game, functioning in various states. How hard is it going to be to just get by, let alone worry about where the next M4 is going to be... To put it in perspective, what if you could no longer sprint for more than a minute at a time before your character begins to pass out? In .5 the first version you could drink water in one town and be thirsty by the time you got to the next.... It changes the way you play, and the texture of the game....

Horrible FPS in cities after recent patches

That counts as an ubber intel chip. The amd ones people have cost half that much with half as much processing power. As for the FPS it will get better and worse as they replace the rendered. Right now I have noticed a distinct drop on the experimental servers. In the end it should be drastically better then it ever has been, but thats a long winding road!

Why 100+ Man servers will be amazing

You assume that that would even be possible. Do you not believe that survival could be a full time job? Because if you played on the first version of .50 on the experimental branch thats basically all you did when you were playing, try to not starve. And things like polluted water and dangerous animals were not even factors yet. Let alone weather and the fact that you could pick as many apples as you had patience for.
  17. This thread is full to the brim with assumptions on how the system will work with very few facts. That being said let's keep on the idea of how a loot economy across other servers could effect how the game is played, good or bad, and ponder solutions. I wonder how the loot management will be different on private shards. If you have a shard of between 1-4 servers does that mean that there could be, for example, one helicopter able to be assembled between the four? How does that compare to the hundred servers that aren't in the shard? We also need to ask about the impact of even one helicopter on a server, private shard. Does it matter? Does it give a huge advantage to a group with access? Can we even speculate without knowing its implementation? As I work through this thought process I find that at this point we simply do not have enough context to have a reasonable discussion about how the loot system will work. When the game gets harder and peoples priority's change I bet there is going to be more 'where is all the medicine' threads that replace the 'where are all the guns at'. At least I hope.

    New Shotgun MP133

I didnt see the front sight on the screenshot. Does it not have one? Almost every shotgun I have ever had or shot at least has a little B.B. on the end of it... And for you Aim vs Point guys. They are synonyms. The guy was using it as a joke. Lets get back on topic please :P aim [eym]verb (used with object) 1. to position or direct (a firearm, ball, arrow, rocket, etc.) so that, onfiring or release, the discharged projectile will hit a target or travelalong a certain path. 2. to intend or direct for a particular effect or purpose: to aim a satire at snobbery. verb (used without object)3. to point or direct a gun, punch, etc., toward: He aimed at the target but missed it. 4. to strive; try (usually followed by to or at): We aim to please. They aim at saving something every month. 5. to intend: She aims to go tomorrow. 6. to direct efforts, as toward an object: The satire aimed at modern greed. 7. Obsolete. to estimate; guess. noun8. the act of aiming or directing anything at or toward a particular point ortarget. 9. the direction in which a weapon or missile is pointed; the line ofsighting: within the cannon's aim. 10. the point intended to be hit; thing or person aimed at: to miss one's aim. 11. something intended or desired to be attained by one's efforts; purpose: whatever his aim in life may be. 12. Well its fare enough. Considering that this is the early access and not the game :P

Why 100+ Man servers will be amazing

Dean said a bit ago one of his goals is that if the servers ever went down his goal was that the game would be engaging enough on a basic level that you could play it by yourself. Hunting, camping, surviving... Methinks players are to used to Elecktro deathmatch... The winds are slowly 'a changen....

The term bandit what it means now

Careful there tiger. Bandits can kill people too. Its all about the process more then the end result.

    Private Shards

How so? This is the source of a lot of complaining about the game development in genearal. There is no implied date, the implication is between 3 and + weeks, but less than a couple months. Any other information is not implied in the least.

How do I not panic/shake when I get in a gunfight?

True story though. The first few months I played this game were the best. All the unknown and the fear of death, it was a really deep experience that I wont forget! Now its just an awesome experience!
