    Dayz Standalone in animated form

Very funny, would be nice to see more of these :)

    Hardcore players

Death by a thousand glitches back in January. Stopped playing for a month and came back to the new zombies and towns. My first death then was starvation as I ran strait for the new town on the NE coast. Made it there and the place was already picked clean. I starved to death on the tracks heading west.

When Bandits Attack ( N.E. Airfield) Situation Critical

Good video, I wish more casters would use hardcore. The NEAF seems to be a good place to find action even if you are not looking for it.

    Misuse of the term 'Bandit'

I always call them marauders... I dont like murders as I tend to think of murder as a personal thing. Marauders try to kill you just because you are there... nothing personal about it.

Can you trust a stranger with a loaded gun?

It is a rare thing that I give a loaded weapon to a stranger but I did yesterday and lived to tell the tale. I was looting the NEAF and was walking in the barracks as he was walking out... we literally walked right into each other. He yelled FRIENDLY and immediately put his hands in the air, stepped back and said that he had looted the whole airfield and that he was unarmed. My friend was hiding in the bushes a little ways away providing overwatch. We were there to try and scrounge up a nice army packpack for my friend or another stripper clip for my SKS. He ended up giving me about 40 rounds of SKS ammo and a stripper clip so I gave him a FNX with a clip and some ammo. We both walked away with something we needed and added each other on steam. P.S. At least when I try to give people guns I always have a friend watching my back ;)

Maybe 1st person is more friendly.

My friends and I play strictly on hardcore servers just because we did not like the magical ability to look around corners and such. I can echo what others have said earlier about just stumbling into people on hardcore servers. It adds a real shock factor and lots of interaction. I would say half of my encounters in hardcore end up in a gun fight... even between groups of survivors because of misunderstandings and such. But I have been able to trade ammo, food and drink and guns without either side turning on the other. (I always have a wingman so it may be that they are dissuaded from being hostile when they are out gunned) As for 3rd person view my only experence is watching video casters like frankie and co. so I cant say if it is more hostile or not. Sidenote: Even though 1st person servers seem to be lower population we have not suffered from a lack of interaction. We try to stay inland and head to the NEAF as that place is almost always hopping. I was on the Bolata Book Exchange server earlier today and there were a grand total of 4 of us on. And guess what... every last one of us were there! It is a common joke with my group that based on our experience many people like us try to stick to the outskirts thinking the NWAF, Elektro and such is where the action would be... but nope... the new cities and NEAF always has something going on even on low pop servers it seems.

    DayZ Standalone - Bandit Appearance?

Not everyone in military gear is a dick. Many wear it for the extra storage and that it is harder to see people in cammo. The rule of thumb I use is if they come towards you with a weapon drawn you shoot them first before they shoot you. If you see them sneaking in your direction with a firearm ie crawling in the weeds in your direction.... you shoot them. This is not done because me or my friends KoS but for self preservation.

My biggest massacre to date (with pics)

His fun is killing fresh spawns? would be more impressed if the scene was in Berezino, Elektro or another high bandit area. Well maybe it is not fair to call them bandit areas... they are just places people shoot each other in mutual defense a lot ;)

    Falling to Death a lot?

With the new patch I have been glitching through stairs, floors and towers at an alarming rate. Every single death I have had since the patch was from a glitch leading to my falling death. I am ultra cautious on ANY elevated surface but it does not matter even when I am not moving it will even drop me though floors/stairs or gently push me through a wall. My latest death was from a tower overlooking a military base. I was watching a guy sneak out and head for the hills and just wanted to make sure he didnt turn around and catch me in the base... I make it up there, stand in the dead center of the platform and use freelook to look around and zoom. Sure as shit it pushed me off to the side and I fall to my death. It is almost as if DayZ is trying to kill me at every opportunity. People dont kill me and neither does Zed -_- So for now my characters will have a psychological disorder and will refuse to get on any elevated surface, I am sure the guys in my group are going to have a field day with this.

    Dayz User Stories

I just found these today and wanted to say I enjoy watching them. I like your intro, even if it lasts 6-7 seconds it is a nice touch. I think you might get more traffic in general discussion though. What we really need is an after action report section for all of these stories.

    Stuck in a room.

How does one "instantly disconnect?" I am stuck in an apartment in electro after glitching through the stairs!
  12. Had a similar situation yesterday. My wing-man and I were heading east from around the NWAF all the way to Gorska to rendezvous with the rest of our gaming group, of course we avoid roads like the plague and hike across the wilderness. I end up getting separated and find myself being chased by 5 zombies while having lag/rubberbanding issues that made axing them a pain in the ass. My buddy ended up killed 3 of them and I was able to put the other 2 down. I did wonder why there were so many zeds in the middle of nowhere, if I had the time I would have liked to search the area and try and find a source like an infected survivor camp.
  13. So after a few days my friends and myself have added some allies and we tend to wolfpack together. I found that it seems much easier in groups of 2-4 to keep everything coordinated and on the same page. But recently we have been doubling that as we find new survivors who want to come along. This makes in game voicechat and teamspeak hectic at times as so many people are trying to talk at once. Can any of you vets share some knowledge about operating larger survivor bands and well keeping it orderly? We dont have a problem keeping everyone fed, geared and manage to get plenty of water. So gear wise distribution is not an issue. So any tips in general about managing a growing hero/survivor group in DayZ would be great! :)

    Crawling Through the Crossfire

I love hearing these stories :)

    Helping is nice....

Had a similiar thing happen last night. Two of my buddies and myself spawn on the east coast, raid the vilalges near by and make a daring run into electro to nab some stuff at the firehouses. We make it out alive and armed with axes and magnums and 45s. After a tense standoff with another group of survivors (which i think the only reason they didnt try to attack us was my firing a warning shot and telling them I dont want to kill them) when one of them rushed at my buddy with an axe; we decided to get out of dodge and head east/north to Berezino to try and find more gear and supplies. One by one along the way we find and help 5 more players, added them to teamspeak and getting gear. When we finally make it to the construction site (all 8 of us) one of the new guys I found out was starving and had red thirst.... so I tab open my inventory and drop my canteen and some food from him... thats when hell broke lose. The bandits show up and knock me out while i was going though my things and the newer guy i was helping; and then proceed to just murder everyone there! While we were trecking up and picking up more survivors the entire server filled up.... the constructionsite became a huge battleground as we tried to get back to help and get some gear back.... I have never seen such chaos... The spawnpoints and small villages along the way to the construction site were a battleground also as a bunch of fresh spawns and survivors were just duking it out with fists in the streets with the occasional zombie rtunning interference. It was an aderaniline high to say the least! Then.... the server went down! We ended up losing 80% of our gear but ended up making 5 new friends and making our wolfpack much stronger. The game has a great way of forging friendships when you share adversarity. show kindness and a desire to help one another out... we are forming our own community in a lawless waste and even after losing everything I can honestly say it was worth it and fun! Long sotry short... keep helping people.. add them to steam.. join up on teamspeak and make a hero community for yourself like we are! edit: spelling is my bane
