I wondered the same thing, i went down spawned right at balota. Went to search everything, nothing there. All i found was an orange and an empty waterbottle. Then i checked a complete empty server. Took a while to get it, checked balota, the airfield, everything. All doors were closed and unsearched. very few loot if none found. Something caused this patch to be completely empty when it comes to loot, i searched for 1 hour and all i found was an orange, a pair of sneakers, a bottle and an armature for an M16... ON AN EMPTY SERVER THAT HAD A FRESH RESTART...

As a freshmen survivor in the day z standalone, i wonder what your funniest pvp kill was. Mine was today, i was at the NWAF and i saw a sniper near a bush sniping people with a mosin. I sneaked up behind him and managed axe him in the balls. he then turned around and i chopped his face off with my axe after a few swings. What makes this so funny is that the kid ( less then 12 i suppose) in broken english said; " Wah matherfocker giiiet awaaaay from meeeeee" and i think i heard a tear falling before he died. With that same axe, i killed a bandit spawning behind me while i picked my axe up yesterday when i spawned near berezino for my first ever game... Now gentlemen please, share your stories with me :D

As a freshmen survivalist, i've seen some funny and shocking stuff. some of which i've explained before on this forum. But i'm going to keep a dairy or as i like to call it a "dayz-ree" on the events when i play day z. everytime i die, I will call my character a different name. NOTE: I'm belgian, my english may be rusty at some points. don't eat me for that thanks! d^^b 15-01-2014. Character -JIM- ----------------------------- I logged in on a fairly full server for the first time. "Jim" spawned with nothing except a flashlight. I spawned right inside a town. I think Berezino, but could be mistaken. So anyhow, at one point, i enter a large house, one of the last houses before my trek west toward electro-cherno. I opened the door, and i found a fireman axe in front of a flipped table. "Excelent, i have a weapon against those zombies now." I equipped the weapon, and to my surprise i suddenly heard "Hands up or i shoot!" A bandit spawned right behind me in the other room when i picked the axe up. As a new player, i didn't knew how to "surrender". and when he started aiming for my head and shouted "hands up or i shoot" one more time. I'd figured i'd be dead before i got to the controls panel. I lunged to him and managed to hit him right in the head. He tumbled down lifeless. I've been in the game for 5 minutes and i already have blood on my hands. I checked his gear, he had a used mosin, with a prestine scope on, an ammo box with both 5.62 rounds and 45. rounds for his sidearm. I took his clothes, his tactical vest, his throusers, his combat boots and before i could pick up his helmet. I heard another person shooting me. Must've been his buddy spawning behind him, since he spawned in the house opposite of where i was currently. he sprayed his rounds all around the house through the windows. he got a shot at me, and he hit me. I was bleeding severely, but he was out of ammo. and it seemed he only had one mag and wasn't paying attention because i selected the mosin and took a clean shot right at his head. So i took a medical bandage and applied it. and headed to the other house after i took the helmet i was supposed to pick up before being shot at... He was loaded! M16 all prestine parts, he had one mag, empty. with also an ammo box with roughly 120 rounds for his gun. Suddenly i realised i couldn't takeall of the good stuff. And at that point god was listening because suddenly i heard somebody yelling "I'm friendly, don't shoot me please!". I looked around and i saw a figure running away from the dooropening when i turned around to look. He yelled it again " please don't shoot me! The name's jackson. I saw you moving in that first house and i suddenly heard shots inside. I thought someone else got you. Then i saw somebody shooting from the other house and you moved out the other house. I figure you're friendly... i'm not armed! I'm a fresh spawn." and some other jibber jabber i couldn't remember. I said him his name (well not jim but for this dairy it's jim) and said it was alright and told him the story of the night with the fireaxe and he had a laugh. I suggested we formed an alliance and gave him the other guys stuff. We were both fully armed, fully stocked and ready to move. So the plan was to get to balota, to check for ammo and military gear. since i only had 30 mosin rounds with around 55 for the sidearm. while he had only a bit less then 120 rounds for the m16. We passed 2 small town before we went up on the mountain to see how electro has changed and for a quick scout on our way. We decided to stick most northward of the town, close to the trees. When we passed electro, we heard gunshots coming from the centre of electro. "Good thing we ignored the centre for loot" i said. "Well, i like to take my chances, it's not that we're not armed." Jackson was very enthusiastic. Like he wants action. Me, i just want to survive my first day on Day z SA... We went to cherno. First thing i noticed were the apartments. I knew that they were accessible all to the top. Plus i knew that balota was a sniper haven and that the server had 26+ players. I asked him if he wanted to go around. but the answer was no, he was ready... Poor chap, never saw it coming. I suggested we stick close to the treeline. He was okay with that. When we passed the first block of the apartment. I heard gunfire. It was distant, and i figured it comes from balota/the larger apartment blocks up ahead. "This is bad" i said to him. He just schrugged it off and offered to take the lead. We aproached the second complex. Jackson looked up and said " i think i see someone on the roof", he took cover behind a tree and peeked right and said "he's on the second roof on the left" I peeked down my scope and saw a top of a head move toward us on t he roof. The angle was to bad for me to shoot him, a man who stays on a rooftop isn't a friendly. So i moved a bit further away from him to get a better angle. Jackson came with me, but before jackson could get close to me, the sniper noticed him. *bang* one shot and jackson died. his body was 50 meters away from me and i quickly shot him in the head. It almost missed, but he moved toward the bullet. He dropped and i went to check on jackson. Unfortunatly, as i discovered earlier. You don't survive a shot to the head. Jackson died. So i did the best i could think off. I took his ammo box, dropped my mosin in the forrests and took his M16. I cleverly disposed of jackson's items in the woods, spreading it out. it took me some time, but scavengers wouldn't get the best out of him. I took his camo clothing and made scraps out of it. I did took his pack, i was runnign around with a mountain pack, he had a miltary 30 slot pack. Better camo rating at the loss of 5 slots. Still worth it. So i figured i did the best i could of disposing of jacksons stuff. I went further toward balota. the closer i came, the most shots i heard. I figured that all the loot would be gone by now and decided to walk around the base. But then i saw a group of 7!!!! men enclosing around a person looking for a firearm. I came closer to investigate,very close until i was able to hear them talk. and it seemed the group cuffed him and wanted to play games with him. They first took his blood " blood bandits" i thought. But then they were sadistic. Shot him in the knee twice and were about to force feed him rotten food. I used adrenaline and sprayed down 5 of them in the back before the sixth one tried to fire at me. I was lucky, because the idiot aiming at me used his revolver for the guy handcuffed and happened to only have 2 rounds in his gun. I reloaded and shot him down. when i searched for the 7th guy, he logged off beforei could get him. The guy cuffed still lived, He bandaged himself and i gave him morphine and some injectors. Then i took the bloodbag from the bandit and gave him his blood back. he said "thank you, first time i see somebody trying to save me from a group this large." I just schrugged it off and said " well, take whatever you want from these guys. I already have what i need except the ammo for this gun." I searched for additional ammo and found roughly 300 rounds of them on several dudes. enough to fit my ammo box and my spare magazines... The guy who i saved asked my name. "Jim" i said in which he revealed himself to be peter. We made an alliance and we shared each other our skype data. We both logged off at the same location and said to meet each other the next day when we're both on skype... 16/01/2014 Character -JIM- ------------------------------------- So I contacted peter, and we went online on a 10+ player server today. When i logged in, peter was waiting for me. Peter asked if we would check balota again. for medical items. Peter went in to the baracks while i was covering him fro a distance. He came back with 2 bandages and a saline bag. "good enough" i tell him. and we move toward kamerevko or whatever it's named. we scavenged some more homes and decided it was time for us to head toward the NWAF and stay there. We passed a "military base" with no military loot and went on toward petro (or something close liek that, my russian is rusty) We took climbs and decents, and it took us a good hour before we were finally at the NWAF. peter and i zoomed in and to see everything clear and silent from around a km away. "Looks like it's quiet" peter said. I said ; "I've been here plentyfull of times. You should be afraid when it's quiet... when they're firing you can find their positions, when they're silent you cannot" he said " fair enough" and proposed to split in 2 groups. peter would cover the east, i would cover the south. and we would meet at the top of the airfield near those formations of rocks. So we went on our way. Peter said he saw someone running over the airstrip toward the hangers. I stopped and saw a shady figure running in crouched position over the field. I resumed my walking until i heard mosin shots. Peter said it wasn't his, and since the shots were pretty close. I went on and went closer and closer to the guy firing at the another guy at the airstrip. When i spotted him, i had this moment of me derping. I equiped my axe, and started chomping at his balls. figuring that people sniping for far distance don't have them in the first place, he wouldn't notice. But he did, and he turned around and started shrieking "Omg motherfucker get away from me" in communications. I figured he was a kid since he was starting to cry for some reason. And one final blow to the head did it for the silence. Peter saw it from a distance, and asked if I was okay. I laughed a bit and confirmed my sanity is still in place for now. We moved on and peter was forced to give away his position to a person trying to kill him with a revolver. He killed him, and peter was panicking. He seemed to think that his cover was blown but it wasn't. as we were the only ones left on the airfield. we went in to check for loot. Peter found himself a new sidearm and I took pleasure by replacing my damaged combat boots into worn ones. we went a bit more north, and peter said he was going to get to his girlfriend or something. In which we both logged off safely away from any human settlements in a bush...

Yeah, i notice it's a bad idea. I logged off today in the woods in a bush in prone position far away from a road. so i should be good the next time i respawn.

IYesterday was the first official game i played in Day z standalone. So i spawned in i believe berezin. Started moving toward electro. I happened to see a house i could search for food and water, so i went in. I opened the door, and i saw a fireaxe laying next to the flipped table. I took it and equipped it but when i turned around, some bandit spawned right behind me with a mosin. He said "hands up or i shoot", me as a noob didn't knew the button for it yet. And out of panic, i lunged out with the axe. Hitting him straight in the head and a kill. I shat my pants, but. He was loaded! Mosin with 30 rounds, prestine canteen, enough food to fill my belly with, had a prestine scope for the mosin and most importantly, he had a fn with 3 mags and an ammo box containing both mosin and 45. rounds. When i finally made sure of what happened. His buddy must've spawned aswel in another house, he began shooting me through the window. Hitting me in the process. When he began reloading, i popped out of behind the window and blew a bullet right through is skull. I bandaged myself and checked his body. They were fully loaded with guns, his buddy had a M16. but i had no space to carry both. Then somebody shouting "friendly" takes cover behind outside. We made a chat and his name was jackson. I gave him the weapons and stuff on the other body, and we began an alliance. In the end Jackson died due to sniper fire near cherno. But i avenged him and killed 6 more bandits near balota. there i made a new friend ^^. I had the most wonderfull, but at the same time super terrifying first day in dayz. I killed somebody who spawned behind me with a mosin with an axe. His buddy with his rifle. Saw my first friend die right next to me while we were scouting the apartments outside cherno, avenged him, killed 6 bandits (should have been 7 but the other one left before i could get to him) and made a new friend called Peter... I will never forget this, this game is excelent! Worth my 23 euro's even though it's in alpha...
