    RAIN!

My opinion in the current state is that you get wet too fast. I don't think that we would be soaked after one or two minutes or at least not where I live. And second I hope that there will be things like umbrellas. And I hope it will rain in a some kind of predictable way so I can try to "run and hide" without sitting there for hours. But probably my attitude would change if there was something to do in this free time, like cooking, reading, writing, planning, crafting and the like.

    zombie anticipation

Hello, I know that the zombie behavior is not final and there will be a lot of change which I cannot fully foresee right now. I'm just thinking if it was possible to give them some anticipation ability? From the dev-videos I've seen so far it appears that only their following pattern is improved, so they get faster to your current location. But they never seem to anticipate your future position. But wouldn't it be easy for the engine to calculate your future position from your previous behavior and jump to the expected "future position" instead of your "current position"? Enemys within the Arma Engine must have tried this in order to shoot on distance, no? This affects especially zombies who approach you from the left or right side, they seem always to follow your pattern instead of cutting your way off. The result is that - as a player - you only have to run straight foward, sometimes straight through them. It would be much improvement if they would force you to change direction instead, because they beat you within movement, because they know where you will be one or two seconds later. The most freaking moment in zombie movies is when they approach from different sides and the actor doesn't know where to head anymore. I don't see a way to achieve this without anticipation abilities though.

    stun grenades/flashbangs

I was interested why people voted "no", could you explain yourself? And would you vote different if it was pepper spray or smoke bombs instead of glare grenades?

    Walking With Hands Up

Today I had the situation, that I wanted to go to a building where somebody was inside and I wanted to show that I am friendly, because there was no response to my words I looked for a more visual solution. But the only possible way was to move, hands up, move again, hands up again and so forth. It should be possible to walk with both hands held high, same goes for other emotes like greeting or hand signs. Maybe it should even be possible with handcuffs. Solution could be: f2 doubleclick.

  8. I have a question. Can hackers influence your own controls? Like hindering you to move properly on either side? There was a situation in elektro in one of the firestations, where a zombie was ground floor, I was middle floor, a guy I wasn't aware of was upper floor. And I got hit somehow, but couldn't see where it was coming from. So my first reaction was running upstairs, saw that guy loading his gun and again run downward (I'm not the killer type, rather the runaway type) and suddenly I was not able to move anymore. Got hit again, and was then able to flee. The zombie didn't move at all, was stuck into the stairs. Strange situation. Is this desync or hacking? °-°

Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

I don't quite understand why people are talking about "cooking pots" as if it was something despicable. I understand and accept that this kind of feature is not satisfying to anybody, but to me this is a GREAT improvement. The reason because I support this game is not pvp, weapons or vehicles, but the survival part of the game. Living in the woods, hunting animals, cooking, fishing, building shelter, learning navigation, carefully approaching people in the hope to find friends, crafting things from natural resources others may have not the time for, sharing, looking foward to the new sounds they add at some stage of the development process (sound is SO important!)... And because Dayz is not developing as you wish in every single moment it doesn't mean its going down a bad path. Different people play Dayz for different reasons and I call improvements where you might call it a waste of time. When you people talking about cooking as if it was silly I feel personally offended because this is MY Dayz you are talking about.
  10. I didn't play Arma or the Mod. Or at least I played it after Standalone was released and only for an hour or something, because I was curious. I don't like both.

    different wound statuses

I'd like to have different types of wounds or different wound-status types which effect your ability to move or move fast. After you are bandaged (or medicated) I'd like if you needed a certain transition time in which you could not run, or only jog or walk slowly, or had at least risks in doing so. Because wounds could reopen or the general health condition deteroriate. It would add to the game in different ways. Friends in gunfights for example could be forced to hold places, because buddys with wounded-status couldn't flee with the same speed or not at all. They would be forced to leave people back, or leave them in a position where either the whole group or only the injured player is vulnerable. Different rescue grips could be an additional feature in which friendly people could help each other out, or they could at least pull you to a better place. Bandits and heros on the other hand maybe dislike this idea, because different statuses could force them to have a break with doing what they most like. I'm honest, I was too lazy to use the search function. If you think I am guilty of the sin of repetition, give me what I deserve.

Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year

I trust Bohemia that they will do well. I think Dean is visionary and popular, but Bohemia is responsible and trustworthy as they have proven with other games. Never understood why everything focusses on Dean in that strange way, while there is obviously a great team on his side which deserves faith and support. So I have in no way any doubt this game will be inspiring and fun for a long time to come.

    DayZ Background I made.

The silhouettes seem a bit small? The overall design it great though.
  18. I'm not generally against nudity, because this game is sick enough already and I know this is not me. And you cannot kill with pleasure and have inhibitions with nudity. But I don't feel comfortable with giving people the ability to humiliate others in a way, that might affect them more than just virtually. We are all very different, some more vulnerable than others, and it is maybe a good idea not always to think in extremes.

    Sleeping suggestion

I don't like the combination of sleep and logging out. Think it should rather be part of active gameplay, some kind of idle/resting mode, like clicking "pause". I often find that I logout because I temporarly have something to do (like doing homework) and that I'd like to stay in the game meanwhile, because I don't want to start on a different server or because I want to have a look sometimes. But there is no benefit for idly staying in the game, and so for my own safety, I logout. I really loved to have the ability to rest on the ground instead, lying in my sleeping bag and recovering from fever (with reduced food consumption). Don't think my suggesion is worth another thread, so I post it in yours.

    [poll] days alive count

Would be an easy way to make life valuable. So yes. Would be a bit harsh to have my hair visibly growing daily. A beard is good feature for male characters, but I think there is no need to add anything like that for women (at all).
