    rocket tried to explain the other day, that when you add something new to the game architecture, you barely have assurance how it will interact with existing parts. And probably with adding these new mechanics they tweaked others unintentionally. I imagine it like a rubiks cube. You know how to do it but sometimes it just doesn't work out as you intended. Maybe not the best example but as close as I can get.

    As far as I understood it experimental and stable are both experimental - so to say - since both are part of the same alpha version of the game. And probably the developers don't think that fixing the binoculars will endanger the performance and won't lead to game breaking bugs in the stable version. So they felt no hesitation in adding it to the stable branch. Not confusing to me...

    Because I do play Plague Inc. and because we are having this poo-poo discussion I was curious if you guys would play a mod without zombies but some kind of disease, which has killed humanity? I mean where infection on different ways would be the main obstacle to survival instead of zombies? And wouldn't that free resources to have many more players on one server at a time? Or is that a rather boring idea in your opinion? Do you have other ideas what a good mod would look like? Maybe survival only without any external threat? A hunting mod with special animals? I'd love to read some cool ideas.

    It is not illegitimate or a taboo for me but I just don't like it and I try to see more behind the concept than just spreading diseases, because against your point I hold that it is something which is forced on me as a regular activity. For example: I don't kill to my own disadvantage, I wear civilian and only small backpacks to my own disadvantage, in all these cases I am maybe dumb, but I have a choice. But you support something where I cannot choose for a very limited outcome.

    I see a lot of ways. You could add smear infection and you could add droplet transmission, in "Plague Inc." those are very effective ways to spread a disease, while defecation works rather in highly populated areas. Because - simply put - nature absorbs it and on a map with only 100 players it is more probable that a dead animal or player lays somewhere in a pond than that someone defecates in there. Except when he is doing it with purpose and that is where player behavior makes it an unrealistic feature, because humans don't defecate in water normally. Why should they? It makes no sense at all. So I think there are far better ways to spread diseases. Like coughing and sneezing, which has many more advantages. For example sneezing can affect many other player interactions, like when you are hiding somewhere.

    But what potential are you talking about? deseases can be transfered multiple ways, you don't need defecation to spread a desease. Having to rest will be normal too, since not all people like to run around in nighttime or have to make a fire and so forth. I don't see what defecation offers that is so desirable. What was so special about it in "the Ship"? :| I really don't see any real benefit.

    There are other ways to simulate pollution. Like dead bodys, poison.or smear infection through objects. I don't want people to play Mr. Hankey. And I think not changing your underwear in a whole lifetime is disgusting enough already.

    Well, this is probably not the most creative suggestion and I know many more variations of the different clothing types will be added at a later point in time. But nonetheless I want to make some suggestions. People say "killing others" is the only endgame content right now, with which I disagree. Trying different clothing combinations is really endgame for me and motivates me to travel around for hours. This is because you guys do clothing really great and I really love to see it on my character model, changing it back and forth and always trying new things out. So this idea is about shoes, because: shoes are important. Different types that I really liked to see in the game and for which I could travel around for hours without getting bored. I try to avoid types which doesn't fit the game at all (high heels for example) but certain female shoes should be available and so I emphazise them here. Finally I want to suggest that different shoe types should have pros and cons, like sound level, blisters in certain terrain, injuries and the like due to wrong footwear.     It would be very unrealistic because the symptoms you describe (shadows, flashbacks, etc.) are traumatic reactions and not all people experience trauma in the same way. I also don't like that you want to force people to experience trauma before they can get used to violence since all characters survived a zombie apocalypse and have seen horrible things, I guess. I don't understand why shooting a person should cause trauma while the apocalypse has not. :)

    This is tribal behavior. That someone is nice to you doesn't mean he is nice to everyone. Your advice sounds more like a moral judgement than logical reasoning. I would never backstab the decision-makers in my group, I think...

    Poll: Are you happy with update news/management?

    I'm happy with the amount of information they provide at the moment but often when I read all the complaints, I'm a bit afraid they might reduce their effort because they feel false predictions, delays and mistakes make them vulnerable. Also I didn't like the shitstorm that happened to rocket, I felt really bad for him. And I really don't like the hype around certain people while all the programmers and workers have their fair share in the process. I wished people would relax more. I have never been part of a community in a game which is work in progress and it is the first time I see so many information - provided by the developers - for me to follow their work. It's great and I wished it was less to their disadvantage, so they would be rather encouraged to provide more instead of being threatened. But maybe I am oversensitive. I'm not here to judge.
  25. Yes and maybe it is a personality thing. I hate gunfights in DayZ because I'm literally losing my head. Most of the time I don't shoot and avoid fighting with humans at all cost and when it happens suddenly, I'm thrilled and hardly able to cope with that situation. For my atmospheric experience it is a good thing though.
