i dont recommend using them right now. why? well they make it easier to spot you. its kinda like having the weapon flashlight on the m4 during daytime. even tho its off it looks like the light is on. making it alot easier to spot you if you have it out. while say laying still overlooking an area you wanna scout out before heading in. The glasses kinda reflects or something that makes it alot easier to spot you as well.

Those gasmask aint for bandits only. i mean its a zombie apocolyps, hell i use them, not allways tho but it helps with the immersion. trying to keep whatever fked up stuff that might be poluting the air from getting in to your system, but i do admit tho it does make you look extremly suspicious

racial slur ? i would have just shoot the guy in the face and considered that my good deed for the day done. (just cant stand stuff like that) you killing him wasent a mistake or atleast in my eyes. you allowing him to get close enough to actually take a swing tho was.

i gotta disagree on that one. the Compass is extremly usefull and stopping to look around and pulling out your compass to get your bearings is part of the charm of what dayz is. but maybe add abit more modern stuff like a compass watch or such. something that can be added to your equipment "that goes on your body" instead of your inventory. it would still be something you would hafto stop and "look at" to get your bearings and have some of those glow in the dark markers on it? so you can actually see what the heck your looking at in the darkness (i know you can do inspect but feels kinda weird doing it that way) having it displayed on your HuD once you found one would be simpler but thats not what this game is about tho, or atleast thats the feeling ive gotten since i started playing

i gotta admit i probably prefer the magnum over the FNX, that cold steel look just makes it kinda sexy. but im using the FNX, problem is the fnx has alot of mods to it and one of the most important ones isent working at the moment but once they fix it.... Silencer / pistol flashlight / red dot sight and clip with 15 bullets...just makes it kinda awesome. here's what i dont get tho. saw some people complaining that it takes more then one bullet to kill zombies...what the hell you shooting their foot? its extremly rare i need to shoot a zombie twice if i do its usaly cause i dident aim properly and hit them like in the arm or leg wich dosent happen often. chest shoots and headhoots 1 bullet is all it takes on zombies that is. Even tho i prefer the magnum im using the fnx since im trying to get use to it. once the silencer starts working its gonna be sweet. now if they ever introduce a silencer for the magnumg ´then ill probably switch to that.

So as the topic says im wondering where the heck you find them now. ive never actually used one but ive found plenty before. usaly in cars. i usaly ended up giving them to a friend or leaving them. But right now im kinda feeling the urge to test one out. ive searched high and ive searched low. Small and big buildings. and since cars dont seem to spawn anything since latest patch im just wondering where you guys are finding yours since the patch.

any barracks will do. ive found them in the barracks and theres more then 1 military base. also im fairly sure ive found them in the building that we both have in the screenshot.

click it once dont hold it in. right mouse button i mean. the scope use works like a toggle "click once for use and click another for stopping of said usage" i have heard people complainig they cant get it working but they usaly hold down right mouse button instead of just clicking it one.

i took a swim in a pond "hand to wash the stench off" so id be harder to detect while lurking around. kinda sucks if your lurking and the hole thing goes to hell cause the enemies can smell ya from a mile away. anyway noticed my green raincoat had gotten damp after the swim. nice touch.

After i posted last i went in a town and thats exaktly where i found it for the first time since the last patch as you did on the Screenshot. thats kinda funny. Anyway guess my search is over for now.

hmm i must just have been extremly unlucky then.

i gotta admit the hole finding friends at the start is extremly frustrating i do get it tho its part of the hole game experience but honestly i think DayZ is one of those nitch games where its just not for alot of people. its extremly newb unfriendly wich in its own way i really like, its extremly unforgiving wich is part of the hole experience. but yeah not being able to spawn with your friends "when your both fresh spawns" is really annoying i admit.

If i had the money to do something like that you assume i would broadcast to the world? no no you missunderstood i would build something similar but in secret of course. i mean come on! I would hire a set of contractors have them sign confidantiality agreement's and then once it was done they would mysteriously all die in accidents! wich i ofcourse would have no hands in uhm "coughs" yeah!

the problem ive got with the restarts is the military bases and such. i mean it feels like everyone and their grandmother is running around with a Mosin or m4 because of the rolling server restarts. this stuff is suppose to be rare but due to the extremly fast server restarts and server hopping people are gearing up like mad. im playing on a server thats usaly on medium to full and i do get that it would suck hard trying to find food and other basic supplies without the server restarts to the point of you would just be starving to death just about all the time, wich is a problem in it self. the map is huge and it surely feels it when your trekking cross country to meet up with friends and most of the places you hit on your way to them or if your simply going somewhere and you hit the towns /smaller villages on your way to wherever it is your going and they are basicly empty cause their allready looted shows how much of an illusion this really is. True the map is fairly big but there is only so many spots you can hit and on a server with 30 or 40 people you can run around for hours without actually meeting someone unless you hang around the bigger hotspots. but it also shows another problem. i get that theres suppose to be hard to get food and such but on a map this big and with so few people actually poppulating its weird how fast we manage to ransack just about every village and town / airstrip and military base. Dont get me wrong even if i notice that people have been in there ransacking a village/town before me i usaly go in and give it another check. i dont know its just weird is all im saying 30/40 people isent much for a map that size but yet we manage to clean it out pritty good in what 2-3 hours? dosent that feel weird at all ? (just make sure im clear here but at the end here im talking about basic stuff such as food can openers axes etc)

well judging from your screenshot i can see we got shadow time on max both of us and mode on same, the only diffrence im seeing is that your using custom on quality (im guessing you put it on 1080p) while im using the Max Setting wich is set to recording at ingame setting wich is running at 1900x1200 and every possible graphics setting to highest. thats the only diffrence i could think of. ill set mine to record at 1080p and see if that's whats making a diffrence. its gotta be that its recording it at 1900x1200 and not 1080 or however that works. Edit update: Yup it even shows a decrease in size on the shadow time once i put it at 1080p

im not doubting you at all but that sounds like a really small filesize for running everything at max. and 1080p vid.

what i want to know is your saying your recording those vids in under 4 gig? im running the game in max settings and ive recorded a few vids in an attempt to catch when something funny or simply awesome happens. and the vid is absolutly perfect. but if you look at the shadow time option "wich i draged to 20mins" it shows the ammount of data or in this case 7.5gig is how big a 20min file is and i can confirm "since ive been doing the 20mins vids at a time" thats how big my files get Normally i just toss the vids unless something happens. but under 4gig? how are you pulling that off? unless you set the quality on medium thats the only way and there is a big diffrence in the vid quality between the medium and high quality recording.

well i for one would like to see some more diversity on the incoming rifles. here's one i like and one i would love to see ingame. i know theres more weapons incoming "as mentioned by rocket" but would like to see a good diversity this one can be modded for sniping or close combat fighting and it's a really nice weapon. very versetile and has alot of mods and attachements. anyway adding a vote for this one think this should be added? i do checkout the review. there's better reviews out there that tells you more about the capabilites of the rifle and how much it can be modded. but decied to link this one.

Well i for one would like to see them implemented, am i in a rush? no for more then a couple of reasons. right now if you want to gear up it can be easy as hell with server hopping between empty servers. i for one would not like to see everyone and their grandmothers running around in the darkness with nightvision googles. the server hopping needs to be fixed first and if they where to implement the NVG they need to be very rare, anyways thats what me and my beans thinks (yes i did ask my beans first and they totally agree with me on this!)

Weapons crosses borders just like most stuff does. either legally or illegally. i dont see how just cause its an israeli weapon it cant be found here. all kinds of weapons can be found all over the world. why would this be any diffrent. Sure we play in Chernaurus but does that mean we can only play with weapons made locally or in neighbooring countries? that would make even less sense, weapon import and exports is a major buisness for alot of countries and last time i checked the blackmarket for weapons is global. but thats my opinion. Edit: and yes i do think we should have weapons from the uk. i would like to see alot of weapons giving the players a nice broad range to choose from. if you only got 1-2 of each type most people are gonna try and figure out wich is the so called "best" and then you end up with a player base running around with mostly the same gear wich is boring as hell.

Baracks / firehouse and i think ive actually found them in the normal larger buildings (check out the stalker post ) some of them are small and easly missed and then you got the BiS one that's even smaller and seriously easy to miss. i dont know how many times ive searched places after people allready been in there (sometimes after they just left ) ill notice someone heading in to scavenge and ill usaly hunker down, they go in with no m4 and come out with one but totally misses the scopes thats under a bed or some other spot. this applies to other stuff as well Just gotta make sure when your looking around to actually look carefully and not just do a quick overview. thats usaly when you you miss something.
