Based on input I've seen from various places, it seems the game is not utilizing the GPU for some reason. -
Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.34.115106

I haven't been able to play to check it out, but is there a chance that some video settings got set to higher than they were prior to the patch? Can anyone check it out? -

Can we just start banning people who go on and on about the mfing tents? -
Critical Unplanned Update of 0.34 to Stable 7 February 2014
Gladius270 replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
I think it may be helpful to put the entire changelog in this thread. There seems to be a bit of confusion among the folks who haven't been up with social media/reddit as to whether the changelog from the Experimental 34.xxxxxx thread is included in this stable patch or not. -
I want a the lever action Marlin 336 in 30-30 more than anything in this game.
-
The cyrillic stuff is really what makes this game. You are supposed to be confused at first. Eventually, you'll figure out how to read the signs well enough to know where you are.
-
If there was no lag on experimental, that would indicate that the lag issue on stable has to do with the individual servers. Seems like some are running fine, some are lagging.

Explain to me this. How is it better to add small things to the game before fixing major problems?
Gladius270 replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
I absolutely love the pace of development. We get shiny new toys to get excited about in each patch. The dev team is also fixing things that are improving performance with the servers/code that we don't notice. This method of development is keeping me interested in the game. Imagine how boring this would be if no new items were added, and all the patches did was fix stuff that we don't really notice. I'm sure the "big issues" that we all want to see fixed (zombie clipping is the biggest, IMO) are all dependent on some smaller fixes (hive/server/client communication) happening first. Be patient, and enjoy the shiny toys that come with each new patch. -
Lootable Buildings are Becoming an Endagered Species
Gladius270 replied to DarkwaveDomina's topic in General Discussion
I certainly agree that each building should be able to spawn some item, and should spawn items that make sense for that building. Items found in residential buildings should vary wildly, with some holding nothing but rotten fruit and pens, and some having weaponry. Specialized buildings (police stations, military, hospitals, etc.) should have items that are geared toward t the use of the building. I'll be clear in saying that I don't think that there should be more loot. Just more variety in where it can spawn. -
Guns and fighting work differently between games. Just seeing how stuff works. Shove it.
-
Sorry, seems I'm misunderstanding which side of this you are on. I had a response here, but I believe we might hold the same opinion.
-
Why won't you people go away?
-
Didn't realize the M24 may be on the horizon. Rem 700 would be unnecessary at that point. I think the Marlin 336 could be my favorite gun of all. I absolutely love shooting the one that I've got IRL. It's a joy to shoot.

What are your biggest issues AFTER .114782?
Gladius270 replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Zombie wall glitch is probably my biggest peeve at the moment, along with the rabbits that make zombie noises. -
Would love to see some more traditional sporting/hunting rifles in the game if they don't break immersion. Marlin 336 in 30/30 would be amazing. Beautiful gun. I also agree a Remington 700 would be great. Maybe chambered in .30-06 or .308.
-
Let's call it a day on this issue. haha. I didn't mean to incite an internet peen measuring contest, of which I willfully participated in and encouraged. My apologies.

.22lr is a rimfire round. We are talking specifically about that cartridge in relation to this game (I've heard the Ruger 10/22 mentioned, and maybe a .22 pistol). There are centerfire versions (magnum, wildcat, among others), but I've heard no mention of those being in the game. I'm not arguing that 5.56 and .223 are different rounds. I'm arguing that it's a stretch to say that a .22lr bullet is anywhere near the same with regards to ballistics as a 5.56 nato or 223.
-
I'd say that the military doesn't use a great variety of calibers/rounds relative to what is available. There is a huge variety of rounds on the market to account for individual needs of the consumer, from home defense to target shooting to hunting. There are some rounds that the military does not use that might have better ballistics, but wouldn't make sense for military applications due to price and availability. It also makes sense to standardize a round that is efficient and relatively cheap to manufacture for the military simply due to how much needs to be ordered.
-
They are very close in measurement as far as diameter goes. They are nowhere near the same in bullet weight, length, casing length, amount of gunpowder, or ballistics. Hell, one is rimfire, the other is a centerfire. Have you touched a rifle?
-
AK/SKS are definitely widely available as civilian weapons. AKs that are available to civilians are generally semi auto unless they are modded. I know many people who use the AK for a deer gun. Ammo is cheap and widely available for the caliber.

Is this hardcore/regular? What server? I'd be interested in being a cop or hunter/gatherer. Age: 26 Players Killed: 5 (I don't KoS, generally. Four were from when I first started and wanted to figure out melee and weapons controls, one was in self defense) I've currently got an M4, and the survival basics, besides being a bit short on food at the moment.
-
In that case, I agree with you. There may be very small differences in accuracy/muzzle velocity based on barrel lengths and the action of the weapon, but I don't think a game needs to get mired in differences that are so small.
-
There aren't guns that shoot identical 7.62 rounds in the game. Sure, the bullet itself is the same, but the 7.62x59r (mosin) and the 7.62x39 (SKS/AK47) are much different. the 7.62x59r has much more gunpowder behind it.
-
I've killed 5 people. Admittedly, four have been in cold blood for the sole purpose of being an asshole/testing out the Mosin. One in self defense.
-
Can we just agree that the 5.56 is a more efficient round for killing at any sort of extended range? Point blank, we're not talking too much of a difference if there is no body armor involved, on an unsuspecting target.
