What DayZ also needs to be even more realistic?
Trigger Hippy replied to Otis.Driftwood's topic in Suggestions
More realistic? How about fighting your way through hoards of zombies; cold, tired, and alone. Scrabbling your way through the forests and hoary undergrowth to find safety, and perhaps a little food and water. You find a house. What little furniture is left is broken or badly worn. Cut off from your family and friends (who knows if they're even still alive?) you break one of the chairs up so at least you can have a fire. You pray that your matches haven't got wet. Hunkering down against the door to keep it shut for the night, you manage to grab just enough sleep to see you through to dawn. Suddenly a letter comes though the door "Dear Mr. Survivor, we noticed that you haven't submitted your tax returns recently...' -
They should have these: They make me high as a kite. Seriously.

Put the one you want to fill in your hands. Maybe try putting the full one back in your backpack before putting the empty one in your hands (not trying to over-swap one for the other)?

...oh...I thought you said 'Iraq'

I like that idea...It makes up for the fact that there's no true facial-recognition. Lots of people have the same face, so it'd be good to help distinguish them. It should only work from close-range though; you can't sit a mile away recognising people you don't like and sniping them.

Am I going to spawn in to find you and a pack of zombies all dancing to 'Monster Mash' on the beach?
-
In real life you'd probably twist around. If you bend your upper body, the backpack moves with you. :D

That's a damn good point. *Makes mental note*: Next time you find a gun, make sure it works before pulling it on someone. -

you'll spawn in one day to see 40 heads gently bobbing in the ocean...bored...but alive. -
Nights simply too dark. Like walking on the dark side of the moon.

I think too many people just adjusted their brightness/gamma settings and were running around like it was daylight. -

What would you do when you are kneeling, handcuffed, bag on your head, and through a poorly-set voice-activated make, you hear fapping? There're too many BDSM fanatics coming out of the woodwork...people finding hidden levels of depravity that they never knew they had...AND ENJOYING IT! I don't let any bugger put cuffs on me. I'd rather die. -
This may have been covered, or is otherwise pointless, but I noticed Rocket talking about being able to manage 4000 Zombies on a server if loot is removed from the game. Well, do you really need that many? If you use An area-effect trigger you can minimize the amount of zombies around at any one time. For example, if nobody has set foot within a mile of a town or city for 5 minutes, the zombies keel-over and shlump back into the ground. If you approach the town, they rise up again. Could be equaly tension bound walking into a clearing and suddenly zombies raise out of the ground. If you have a 64 player server, and assuming everyone is running around lone-wolf style on their own, then that's a max of 64 encounters needed at any one time. Just 1000 zombies would give you 64 encounters of 15 zombies each. Also, there are vast swathes of the land where there are sparce encounters, so you could stick several encounters on large cities. Just a thought.

For example, i'd be cool to see dead bodies eventually rise into zombies ^ This

You stripped-off in front of that kid. You bad man. I hope you don't find 'candy' anywhere on the map or it's lock-up-your-kids-time.

Was it tested and didn't work, or just not attempted for the method I described?

I notice big de-synchs just before 'PLAYER ****** IS LOSING CONNECTION - PLAYER ***** WAS KICKED BY BATTLEYE - BATTLEYE CLIENT NOT RESPONDING" or words to that effect. ...and thanks ;)
