Why ? Is this a military simulator or a zombie apocalypse were ordinary ppl are left to SURVIVE. This is the problem with dayz. Because it is so connected to ARMA there is a bunch of military freaks who want to have humvees and ghillies in a zombie apocalypse... Go play Arma or something.
-
No. The loot should spawn in places that make sense. Just swarm the military camps and airports with zombie hordes so it makes difficult to get in and out safely.
-
Guy... ur exaggarating it so much. Mad Max full leather and the weather ? HOT AS FUCK. HE WOULD DIE IN HIS OUTFIT. Everybody should wear casual clothes just a bit worn and dirty and thats it.
-
Dayz is 20km2 ( or more ) On the server at once can be 40 ppl. Whats the deal ? No one will settle in cities because ( I hope by this time ) they will be crowded with zombies lurking all over the goddamn place. So i don't really see ur point sorry. Rust enables to do FENCES and Barracks. This Idea wouldn't allowe that. It would change existing places. Fortify them. Ofc loot wouldn't be spawning there but it doesn;t matter if someone settles in this claimed area he takes the loot that was there. So it's not a big deal unless u camp on a spawn point to capture loot.

Dean "Rocket" Hall wanted the zombies to be like the ones in 28 weeks and days later so I tottally agree with this post. BOHEMIA MAKE THIS HAPPEN FFS. Zombies in dayz now are even more harmless then in the mod which is ridiciulous.
-
So the buildings should be more destroyed the environment should change ( forests spread and much wildlife ) and zeds should be dead ( no food = no Zeds ) like in 28 weeks later. Well all ur arguments are invalid as &^*% XD. The World in the game clearly shows a year AFTER, the loot 20 years after and no bodies on the ground, no trash means that what ? The zeds ate everything ? Theyre like rats or something ? And yes zombies die of hunger in dayz because these arent LIVING DEAD theyre infected like in 28 days later. Dean based on those zombies. So yeah pretty much everything u say is bullshit. I don't say what I WOULD PREFER to see in the game I say how it should be from a realistic point of view. If u can't see that then it means ur pretty much satisfied with the current state of the game which is out of place like Daemonkid said
-
It was just an assumption. I do not know the actual but Dean mentioned in one of the streams the amount of loot decreases the performance. If it wouldn't then there would be much more loot. My post with the 2 pics says it all I will not answer any stupid arguments and stuff that was already answered again cause I lack the patience.

I dont really understand why u have written this. Solve problems don't create ones. The guy who would have acces to the claimed area wouldnt be spawned outside. If it is to hard to make such a mechanic then he could just enter the base again with a key or something.
-
Of course decayed bodies would also work as a Container. A Container system is just much better and would solve the performance problems + adding more immersion into the game. LIke for example if anyone is searching a house for loot they dont look at the ground the look in the drawers, refrigators, cupboards and so on. I hope someone from the devs would read this and think it THROUGH. Cheers.

Make an easy game mechanic like "CLAIM" u need for example one specific Item in a base which will then automatically claim a place like in a radius or something. And for example everyone can claim something once in their lifespan ( If u want to mooove places u just erase the claim on a land and move out of it ) and nothing in the claimed place respawns, no zombies, no loot and no players. If a Player hops servers ( which actually by this time should be dealt with but w/e ) He would spawn outside the CLAIM RADIUS for example. Is it doable ? I think it is.

I'm against it. This is a zombie apocalypse ppl died, ppl got infected all stuff including food, clothes and soooo on was LEFT BEHIND. In the road it wasn't a typical apocalypse and many ppl survived. They lived off the food that was in markets and so. The road takes how many years after the "EVENT" ? 15 ? Most ppl killed themselves or eachother ate the food and so on. Zombie apocalypse is waay different so u can scratch the Idea now.

I see maaaany suggestions here which are SOOOOOOOOOO over the top like warrooms and woodworks and what not. Why not a simpler approach ? The World of Dayz has many mansions, houses, abandonend factories which could greatly work as a base for players. For example we find a mansion somewhere deep inland. It is surrouned by a wall which is collapsed in some places. So what could we do ? Possibilities - Repair the wall - Wire fence on the wall - Barricading windows - giving rooms their purposes like - Sleeping place, Medical room, Weaponry and magazine and stuff like that, kitchen etc. - Installing some simple trap against zombies and ppl : Bear traps, holes with spikes. - Barrels which would fill up at rainy days - Maybe a power source And that's it. Realism + Fun !

@Roshi yeah ofc the containers are just an Idea to make the performance better. @DJPorterNZ I answered this hundred times already in only 2 replies... "Random chaos caused by multiple blablabla..." watch Walking dead, 28 days later. The markets are FULL with food and stuff like liquor and so on the only problem are the zombies and that the most food is already old and unfit to eat. If the majorty of humanity dies, the rest got infected. THe few survivors wouldn't be able to LOOT all the big cities even in 5 years. The most would die trying -.-' ... http://img2-1.timeinc.net/ew/i/2013/10/11/The-Walking-Dead-401-01.jpg Market in Walking Dead ( full with stuff, dirty, without lighting, and many zombies ) http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/dayz.gamepedia.com/thumb/f/fa/Supermarket_Inside.jpg/500px-Supermarket_Inside.jpg Dayz market ...

The problem is the engine doesn't allow more objects or not really more. Because of this the game doesn't feel REALISTIC. This argument has no sense. Because the spawning of objects isn't RANDOM. I know where what is spawning. If we could search through containers we could search USEFULL stuff among destroyed ( for example 10 cans of food in which only 3 are O.K ) and a glimpse of eye wouldnt be just enough. I dont know why you try and defend a broken game mechanic ( because of the engine ), This random loot breaks the immersion of the game and its not really cool. Containers are a muuuch better Idea because NOW u enter a house and see like 3 items :a can,a hoodie, and a defibrilator ( out of the blue ) but with the containers you enter a house and see alot of possibilites. The engine cant handle more loot then 3 items per house or so. The mechanic isnt stupid it would be cool if it was done like in Skyrim but the Modified ARMA Engine can't handle this much stuff + ragdoll and this is why a container mechanic would make here much more sense. And in real life I would TOTTALY not look into the refrigirator and cupboards I would gladly look under the bed for a zluta klasika kola instead <facepalm> or instead looking into a closet I would just take the one hoodie from it because sure as hell there isn't anymore clothing IN the closet. I mean who normal puts his clothes into closets ?!
