Its a matter of prefence. With the SKS ; its very versatile ; its really the only weapon you will need to carry. However the limitation of 200m effective range has caused me to stick with the mosin. You become limited on your engage distance and lose the ability to properly recon. I carry a mosin (LRS & PU scopes) along with a magnum and sawed off shotgun. Depending on the situation is what gun I will use. But I normally play solo and have a bad case of paranoia on 25+ pop servers so I tend to do a lot of reconnaissance before I enter high traffic areas. Reason I stuck with the mosin is , for close distance combat , I tend to come out alive in close quarters situations due to the magnums stopping power. Rarely do I get suprised in an area I have reconned ; and when I do; they get a face full of .357. I've dropped many m4 users as well as SKS users with the magnum. So until the SKS LRS clipping issues are fixed. I will continue to use the mosin. Plus at times I get bored and just like to be the asshole sniping at NEAF ; can't really do that with a SKS.

I actually found the LRS to be more realistic and practical. I was at NWAF before the lag fest patch was introduced ; went 9/10 shots on zeds at 200-400meters away. Perhaps its just your aim or failure to find your range.

What are your system specs ; have you altered anything in your config files? And are you playing on a day server?

Can you clear that up for me ; are you referring to zombie respawning or zombie spawning upon server restart. As far as I'm aware they havent tried to implemented zombie spawning outside of server restarts atm.

I appreciate your suggestion but at this point in time I don't think it will solve my issues.

So after waiting out a 5min wait timer due to having to force a restart on my PC (twice) ; I got into the game. Loaded in at 45FPS ; walked around for a few minutes. Then It started to rain ; FPS dropped significantly within 60seconds of the rain down to 22 FPS. Hovered at 22 for about another 60 seconds then it plummeted to 5FPS and crashed ; again. Just because I'm experiencing problems with DayZ (and not ANY other game) doesn't mean I'm going to perform a reformat. It's obviously not my PC or OS's fault as other are reporting the same issue. Its client side ; not user side.

It seems to be the rain from what I can gather.

Why would people lie about an FPS decrease ; silly debochka needs a tolchock to the glassies.

I'm discussing how the game ran perfectly smooth for me and now it runs like a steaming pile of shit. After about 3 minutes of being loaded into the game ; My FPS decreases from 30-25-20-5-1fps until the game locks up and freezes. Not able to exit out of the client or pull open task manager forcing me to do a MANUAL RESTART on my entire PC. Discussed.

Pretty sure tents and player made structures can't and won't be implemented until the servers are capable of handling persistence and loot respawning. Otherwise everytime a server restarted you would be starting your building from scratch. So once you see we get persistent servers ; expect tents / building fortification soon.

Never even found a "Berry" bush or tree so makes no difference to me. At this point me and my friends consider berries a myth.

My friend and I both carry a Bible as a good luck charm. I took a spray of M4 to the leg once and survived due to the bible being in my pants and it ate the rounds. Ruined the bible but saved me from hemorrhaging.

I find they quite often in fire houses on teh shelves near the stairs ; also they spawn on the floor above the locker room on the ship in riffy. I often go hunting for Proctetor cases to fill them with goodies for bambis ; since they can only hold 4 slots to start with its a perfect fit. Stick a bible , can opener , can of beans , bottle of water and a compass in there and youll make a bambi really happy.

So apparently they implemented weather ; atleast rain into the game. Currently uploading a video to youtube as we speak ; will update OP with video as soon as its finished. Make sure you watch in 1080p or it will look like shit and you can't tell its raining. Ignore my friends voice as well lol.

Only the new testament is ingame ; old testament / King James full version bible is not currently in the loot tables. I no longer have a spare copy. Passed it off to a bambi in a "starter kit" ; Protector Case containing (bible , can opener , can of beans , water bottle , compass)

All the day servers were full , whats the point of asking dumb questions when you already know the answer. And as you can tell with the gamma all the way up it was still dark AF for me.
