I should have been a bit more specific... I meant stories which are told to the main character... not the main character story.

it would be nice if this forum would enable a wiki type interface for a user's personal posts... I could clean up all of what I wrote to tell how the game play could work and explain it with charts...

You may have missed my previous forum post about the walkie talkies and other items... that would explain how a character is generalized to view the same guidelines regardless of individuality. The astronaut could be telling the story from other views... It would not really require too much separating the story but using a similarly drawn character yet basing them to tell the story as someone else entirely... SO as a player , you could find out what happened to the world through a very fast story of a fast food employee who explains the story of the astronaut to you... As other characters could hear about the story of the scientest through various ways... A message on the ocean telling what would play in the movie.... "A guy watching television at home....with the reporters last words of what is happening to the globe..." I think that would be the best approach. Act 1 Use all the gamers in day z as a typical lazy person watching television hearing the story of the astronauts struggle with the zombie virus. Act 2 The player runs into a random Npc who tells the next part of the story when a book is picked up in certain locations... those locations would randomly generate after the player survived 36 straight hours in dayz. The story could be told by anyone... A random npc dressed as a fast food worker. A npc guy found sleeping on a couch A npc of a concerned mother searching for their child A npc of a scientest who was found with a book and seemed to be of a insane nature. (taking all four or possibly five npc scenarios could split up the game play system to allow a architecture of a feeling that each character is unique to play.) The variety of finding each of the characters in act 2 could split the challenges and random drops a player would find in the world of day z. Then To Act 3 Act 3 would have to have a limed npc or item npc that the player would run into All this ensures day z still remains extremely difficult. Day z would feel endless in possibilities which are seen to exceed gameplay value by creating new challenges or a feeling of rising difficulty,to the player. To the player playing day z , a major feat and accomplishment of living for one full week under the zombie apocalypse allows new scenarios to be found. As similar to act two with a individual story... this act ends with the player knowing they are dead; the player keeps living in day z with modified items and upgraded weapons; the player loses health and is left with no weapons; the player would find himself stuck among lots of zombies having to fight his way to survive with out dying ; the player would find all zombies and other players dead except one npc who is of the opposite sex and helps bring together a family which the player of day z could chose the fate of. Think about that for a story line. Day z is now the boss of games .

Think about my previous comment about the gps and the walkie talkie. THE First act tells a story of the zombie apocalypse that ruins earths communication systems because the virus which took over earth destroys computer chips. the computer chips which are in the satellites that give gps signals were infected by a astronaut that went to space with the zombie virus he died in outer space with a few of his crew members but they came back to earth where the virus spread. As the virus spread. think like this Script format starts here... C.U. earth spinning V.O. Astronaut sgt. sam billtry who is in space in space station. Astronaut Sarah Mined-Busicha was infected by a cut in her space suit which allowed the micro-bacteria she was studying from a mars retrieval of planets rock to spread like wildfire among earths citizens because she was not infected untill she returned to earth from our own moon. CItizens worried about what types of bacteria grew on mars but no one ever thought they could exist or could anyone ever think the bacteria would be able to survive nor could anyone ever forsee the problems we have today with zombies. Exit script Then a description to the zombie virus could be a code name or a story in a short book that was found through out the lands. Day z players could gather pieces from books to lead access into information on how to survive day z for a full week offering tips and a battle strategy Then the player plays through and earns the second part of the story. The second half of the story tells things with a computer operated player explaining what the life was like surviving the zombie virus and knowing it took over and killed so many on earth. ALL I AM SAYING . DAY Z needs cinematics that tell a story. Hope you guys enjoyed this one.

Why not add a full survival plan for staying alive for a full week enables 3 videos talking about the zombie apocalypse and discovering more about the main character. So one full week of staying alive tells a movie... 3 acts. think about good selling titles that are not total rip offs to the consumer... I am pretty sure there are two war titles that compete for the number one spot and one of those tell the story of what makes a good game and the other tells what consumers dump money into aimlessly. Be the reason for a computer gaming revolution. escape the console.

The map should display where you are and there should be a gps feature on it so if I mark an area a mini map could show where I have to go to get to that area.
