    Best PVP Places

If this game had no PvP it would be the most utterly boring game on the market (well besides Dear Esther... never really enjoyed that one). Honestly though, if there were no bandits or mass murderers in DayZ there would be no game. They make the game what it is. Also, chances are if you see someone fully geared along the coast they are also looking for PvP. Some of them may even just be looking for the cheap thrill of shooting bambis. So if anything, someones going along the coast shooting only fully armed players is most likely doing freshspawns a service. If you think you have an argument... just don't. I tend to find the most firefights in Elektro. Every time I hang out there for longer than 15 minutes I hear gunfire, and/or see one or two armed players.

    -=BEARDS=-

I full heartedly agree. Not because I care about uber realism or anything.... I just want a bad ass beard.

Why the dayz formula will ultimately fail

This was such BS that I couldn't even summon up the patience to read the other responses before yelling at you. There are weapon spawn locations ALL OVER the map. I have found rifles, pistols, and m4's in almost every larger town/city in Dayz. I actually tend to stay completely clear of Elektro and Cherno unless I'm looking to find other armed players to PvP against. I've found M4's in school, Mosins and SKS's in houses, Shotguns in barns, Pistols in firehouses, and all of the above in military bases. I've walked into a little store building (not the department stores) and found a mosin, without expecting to actually find anything useful. The entire map is covered in loot, and the further you get away from Cherno/Electro the more potential there is for you to find loot. There is no such thing as a bad spawn in my honest opinion.

    update 0.36.115535 - disappointing!

I love the rain! It gives the game a whole different atmosphere. After 100+ hrs logged into standalone in the sun, some rain is much appreciated! It makes everything soo intense o.o

    Weapon Inaccuracy

The weapon body itself is probably in bad condition. It doesn't show it, but I have looted weapons (one off someone I shot, another off the ground) that literally would not fire. It did not list them as ruined or broken, but when I attempted to fire (with clip/bullets in pristine conditions) it clicked as if there were no bullets loaded. Try to find a new m4 and try again.
  6. Hmm, my very first experience with KoS in this game was myself. I was in the jail/military building (whatever it's labeled as) in Zelenogorsk messing with my control settings, trying to find how to control a very specific action. I was in that back room hiding in the corner messing with controls for about fifteen minutes. As soon as I closed my settings menu a guy in full military gear with his m4 out walks in the door. It was my first encounter with an armed person and I paniced. Mostly from having felt so safe in the options menu. I sprayed a full 30 round clip into the poor bastard. (He probably died after 5 bullets or so, but since it takes so long for the body to fall and I was paniced I didn't let go). Afterwards I wished I had the prescence of mind to try and hold the guy up. Luck for me I was in the corner behind the door, so I had the better position. Had I been standing anywhere else I may have been shot to death myself.
  7. My latest adventure involved a very prolonged 2 on 2 shoot out in elektro. Me and my friend were geared and hunting bandits in Elektro. My buddy wanted to get a Mosin, so he went to check the school building out to see if one had spawned at the top floor weapon spawn. Halfway down the road to the school he gets shot at by some idiot with an m4. I'm sitting on the hill outside Elektro with my Mosin trying to keep an eye on him, but I couldn't spot his attacker. He retreated and I continued scoping the whole town out looking for this would-be bandit. Within a few minutes I spot a guy near where my friend was shot with a mosin, and figuring him to be our attacker's friend I take a shot at him. Seeing as I always over estimate distance while zeroing the scope I shot directly over his head by a few inches and he retreats to safety. As I continue to look for our attackers and my friend tries to flank to a better position I hear Mosin and M4 shots going off in quick succession. I quickly retreated assuming these shots were meant for me (they sounded very close). I ran further up the hill and back down around to the firehouse. I climbed onto the roof of the industrial building near the firehouse and look again. I don't see a thing, so I decide to get down before I'm spotted. Again we hear a quick succession of m4 and mosin shots going off. This time we decide that the two armed men in town with us are actually shooting at each other. I go further up the hill and tell my friend to flank around to the eastern side of the hill and come up from behind where the gun shots sound to be coming from, while I scope the area out and watch for anyone to come out. After about 10 minutes of silence we decide they moved on and I start to head down the hill. As I'm climbing down the hill I come face to face with our m4 bandit which shot at my friend. I didn't think he'd seen my yet, seeing as his head just poked up over a crest giving me vision of him so I instantly went prone and raised my revolver. He stopped and then fired at me. At this point I do my best to shoot him with my revolver from the prone position through the grass. I tagged him once before he killed me, but couldn't win the firefight. It would have been better if I had remained crouched when I spotted him and shot immediately seeing as I had a height advantage on him, but the shock of spotting him so close caught me offguard and I choked. As I tell my friend where to find the guy who shot me I hear his character moaning in pain and cursing aloud. I relay to my partner that this unlucky bandit won't be seeing too well. The bandit looks around for a couple minutes too make sure I had no buddies, then starts to loot me. My friend takes a few shots at him from a distance with his m4 and the bandit sinks my body in the ground. My friend crests the hill to our position and the bandit takes off down the hill. My buddy fires off a salvo of rounds and he believes that a couple hit him but he lost sight of the guy in some bushes. To this day I like to think that the poor bastard died or was knocked unconcious in some bushes in the vicinity of Elektro, or better yet maybe some bambi ambushed him with a fireaxe a little ways down the road. Either way if he wasn't dead, he left Elektro in a very poor condition....
  8. Obvious troll is obvious. Your tears have quenched my thirst OP. I'll be back when my character feels like having a drink again. Until then I'll be enjoying my survival sandbox.
