Correct, NZ. And I realize that, I just hope they keep to that instead of giving it the "gamey" feel. Also, like gibonez has said in various threads, incorporating ACE. I haven't had time to toy with the mod, but it's seems very well done and would force those that desire to snipe to really work for it while boosting up the gunplay experience for everyone.

It's hard to tell if it is actually broken or functioning like it was intended...I hope that it's brokedick and they address it, at least acknowledge it anyway.

I am, I have, and I'm not. Just the statistical odds alone mean that only common and locally sourced firearms should be considered. I'd love an 18charlie in game, just not even remotely plausible.

If it's somewhere less than a couple hundred, it shouldn't even be up for question that it just wouldn't be found, period. The map we have isn't even the whole country. If the US/NATO force rolled in guns hot and loaded for bear they still wouldn't have brought anywhere near enough. Be realistic, because if one could possiblity be present somewhere in the country then all arguments against any specific type of firearm are out the window by one answer of two answers. Black market or criminals. Put all weapons on earth in game now.

The R700 series platform encompasses standard 700's, P's, M24's, and M40's, I think your missing the sheer lack of numbers I'm trying to express over your desire to use this platform ingame. The numbers just aren't there...

With your previous posts you were imply that because American forces would be present that so too would Glocks, that simply isn't the case. As other's have said, 17's, 19's and 20's probably would due to geography. Since I'm not privy on what the countries around Chern would carry I can speak only for what I know. For sure, US forces would not be the ones bringing them in any nominal number. Nor would we be bringing any other non-issued weapons.

As it is in the worst cases, for every item we make, we need 3 diffuse textures, two specular maps, material configs, class names in the cfg, etc. Imagine if we had 100 items which could be colored with the 7 primary colors. We would need almost 1000 more textures and material configs – all of which needs generated by artists, transmitted, and stored by servers and clients. On the other hand, doing this dynamically is expensive on the performance of our game and for something which is nice to have, but not core, its probably not worth the cost. Please understand, I'm not saying we won't continue with this feature or expand it slightly, but its not going to extend to all items and many colors unless we can invent the tech to do it dynamically with an acceptable performance hit.

If this were stateside, yes, but we're taking eastern Europe. Locally sourced firearms are generally the norm. NATO presense would simply not put enough on ground, small numbers at best, in the 1-5 in an ID BN at best. I don't even think we have any in our BN, just m110's and we have a recon/sniper section. Again though, don't get me wrong, I love the platform but it's just been phased out to very niche roles and numbers.

Reaction depends on distance. Far, move to cover, force them to close the distance or reposition. Near, unload and move to cover, press the attack. But really, ambushes play out well for the ambusher. Surprise often helps ensure there is no counter attack.

Big fan of the r700 series rifle platforms, but how common would it really be? I don't know the actual figures, but I would assume since we're talking eastern Europe that other, more local, rifles would/should supplement the "sniper rifle" department. Even as NATO goes, I just don't think you'd see many, if any really.

Outside of the my snide comment about pro tips, you learn by correcting mistakes and making your next life better than the last. Or you could chalk it up as I'm a douche and have no tactical sense and am simply picking on you. Get some thicker skin, sir.

first mistake, firing a weapon not expecting someone to check it out second mistake, your back to the only point of egress. third mistake, immediately trying to loot a kill. fourth mistake, opening comms in a military area. fifth mistake, pro tip. there's a bunch more...sheesh...pro tip, really?

I'd carry flatware, glassware, knife, spoon, and fork around if they were in game, don't care if there's a use. I lug around books like I'm a fuckin' library on feet and haven't had time to read them all so, yeah, would carry 10/10. Gimme a nice blanket to lay out and I'd have myself a damned imaginary picnic!

Plenty of factories, I'm sure one or two have some dry ice...nice rare item, 2x or 3x ice duration. -
I believe his entire point is that even a slight grade increases slows you down to a crawl, and that's quite true. Actually having full kit and a weapon shouldered a slight grade will impede you, just not as drastically has it does in game right now. Flat out trucking down a road then 3% grade increase = walking five steps...Dafuq?

Needs a slight increase, very slight though. Not that it's impossible to move up a steeper grade quickly with full kit, but it is very taxing and will burn out your calves very quickly. Hopefully once some sort of fatigue system is implemented we'll see this change, until then just switch weapons and run up any grade slope. *edit Forgot to mention, use w+a or d and you can mitigate some of the small inclines completely and keep a solid pace.

You can still use dc while logging in an it broadcasts, nothing consistent that I've noticed but been able to get some responses from my "meow!" when logging in.
