There is a game about assembling and disassembling weapons on Steam. It's called "World of Guns: Gun Disassembly" Trust me, if we wanted a game as realistic as possible, it wouldn't be a game anymore. DayZ is still and will always be just a video game and doing everything to make it uber realistic will be a massive shot in your feet with a rocket launcher. What some people here need to understand is that there is a line between realism and fun. Once you cross the line into the realm of realism, it will become shit. And also, if you want to be so realistic, you game should be uninstalled and removed from steam once you die, so that you stay dead.

Novodmitrovsk. Generally, if you guys want to meet players, your best choice is NWAF and entire north-east part of map.
-
But only if you can pickup the map from a dead guy and see his markings. And still, I'd rather keep it in my mind or do a scatch on a piece of paper.
-
And then we will have what Diablo 2 had (and I bet D3 has too), namely "taxis". You wll join a group of friends where one or two are maxed out, and they will get you the best loot possible.

Are you trying to tell me, that on experimental there is no NE Airfield?

DayZ Mod is older, developed for longer time, more features but buggy, because it's based on buggy Arma 2 engine. It's not "so actively" developed, but many individual modders work on it. DayZ Standalone is relatively fresh (half a year), major work in progress, lots of bugs and much less features, but is actively developed. If things are blurry on your screen then go to game's video settings and turn the BLOOM down, that's for sure. And generally, try to play a bit with settings. Should help.

1. Chat works in close proximity only, don't know what's the exact range. 2. Zombies are super uber dooper work in progress.
-
But... the game will be developed anyway. So why order people to pay for content and turn this game into pay2win?
-
But it breaks the immersion to make me look into my backpack or pockets to check if my stomach hurts....
-
It's a game, we have to accept some degree of anti-realism narration. And as it was said before, many times you won't even hear those sounds, for instance if your talking to somebody or if your in a gun fight. Therefore it's better to have a text notification, rather than not having a clue what's going on with your body.
-
Yes, you're right. But in real life you can also FEEL grumbling. And since you cannot feel in the game, we have text notifications. Yes, you're right. But in real life you can also FEEL that your thirsty (dry mouth, being tired and overheated etc). And since you cannot feel in the game, we have text notifications. Yes, you're right. But in real life you can also FEEL that something is going on in your stomach/colons. And since you cannot feel in the game, we have text notifications. Yes, you're right. But in real life you can also FEEL heat and pain and itching/burning sensation around the wound. And since you cannot feel in the game, we have text notifications. I don't know what kind of echolocation-batman-super-uber-hearing you've got, but there's no chance I will hear droplets dripping off my body. But for sure I can tell you, that I will FELL them on my skin and I will feel weight of wet clothes on me. And since you cannot feel in the game, we have text notifications. This is the only part here where I could agree with you. But still, you could FEEL that your leg is broken. And since you cannot feel blah blah blah...

Ever heard of apache helicopters? Why not just fly with large megaphones ordering everyone to hide in basements, and then fly around and shoot everything with M60 or other type of machinegun? But apart from that, I'd like to see supply crates droped on the map. Since we already have heli crashes with military rifles, why not have crates washed up the shore or droped in towns and fields?

As long as list of skills to learn will be carefully checked and balanced, it should be fine. This way, we can make one's life much more valuable.
-
Yeah, so that you can hear my mom calling me for dinner, baby sister crying in the next room and cars driving just outside my window. That's really great idea.
-
1. Consider reading the popup window that shows upon launching the game. DayZ Alpha is not supposed to have smashing gameplay. It's supposed to be tested 2. I've seen plenty of videos on YouTube, and most of them were a single person or a group of 4-5 sneaking upon airfields or larger cities and engaging in heavy shooting.

Game is not rewarding you. It's you who says "Why should I bother looting and searching when I can just kill that guy. I would only need one hand to count times I was sniped on spawn or loot area. And I don't play on empty servers, trust me. All you need is being carefull and scan the area with long range scope. Yes, I know there are people who are being killed constantly, but you would have to ban KoS-ers to stop that. And that will never happened. So my suggestion for them poor bambies and KoS victims is this: learn to examine your surrounding and get good camo clothes.
-
1. It's not really an RPG per se. 2, I don't see how it rewards socipathic behaviour. This game doesn't reward anything. 3. Today, me and my friend were running along the road from Electro to Cherno. At some point my buddy said "Someone is following us" (on teamspeak, we're bad guys, I know). We turned around and there was a full-camo, m4+mosin guy sneaking up on us. We asked him (without pointing our mosins) why was he sneaking up, and he said "Sorry, you know, I think i will go now" and we both went in our directions. Not a shot was fired that day. All in all, you're argument is invalid.

That feeling when I turn my gamma/brightness up and still see patches of black and grey.
-
Yeah, but why compensate on something that works just fine?
-
Some items spawn in locations that you cannot reach, like some chairs in school building and such. But most of the time, you can pick up items, either with your mouse or through inventory.
-
1) You have to find your friends 2) Actually I don't think we need different types of zombies. Once there are more of them and they don't agro randomly and weapons/ammo become rare, we'll be just fine. :)
-
A railtracks running through a mountain tunnel, with doors inside leading to some kind of maintance room where you could find loot, set base etc.
-
You don't even have to buy Supporters edition. You can get basic one and play. But you can, of course, if you feel like giving developers an extra kick ;)

Most people will diss you for using TeamSpeak. Thing is devs already gave their statement on blocking TeamSpeak: they won't do this. And as to my personal opinion: I use TeamSpeak, for a simple reason: Yes, it's a simulator. But first of all, it's a game. And I want to enjoy it with my friends.
