  1. 1. TL;DR 2. Why you guys keep saying that cherno/electro is on west coast. I always thought bottom part of the map is south. 3. Truth is there should be a big city in the middle of Chernarus and loot table needs to be modified so that there is need to loot entire map, not just one spot.

    I haven't seen 1 other player yet!

I have to say that I used to watch vids and streams from dayz mod and they always met some players in the wild, like a crazy sniper covering fields around an airfield. And I'm disappointed that there are no such actions now. I hope that it will change with balanced loot table and random events like heli crashes

    unconscious timer?

I'm totally for having an indicator (be it a numeric timer or a mod-like hourglass). Realism is one thing but being forced to sit for 10-15 minutes in front of your screen not knowing if you should just click respawn or not is more important. Realism is good but not when it influences your life more than the gameplay.

This + simple base building, like sandbags etc. and I bet we will have some nice safe zones :D

    some mechanics of the game

As to your questions: Many features from the mod will be implemented and many new are/will be added. It just takes time. There are around 10-15 spots you can spawn at, chosen randomly. Whenever you die, you spawn in one of them. People choose to commit suicide because they either spawn to far from their friends, spawn in a looted town or spawn too far from big cities or military bases. Personally, I find it dumb, because a skilled player should be able to survive no matter the location. As to what people are trying to do, it's usually getting better gear, so that you can defend yourself, and then it depends on your attitude. Some become bambi-killers (killing freshspawned players), some become bandits that try to ambush others, some become bambi-killers/bandits hunters, some become medics who are willing to run all across the map to fix your broken leg and some are between all these options, so they just try to survive, help who needs help and kill who deserves death.

The first of the Dayz Mod

Sorry, but you just keep repeating vanilla, vanilla, vanilla.. and didn't explain what you exactly want.

    If i was dean hall

//Remove the "ready weapon" midstep. Simplify it to just have the weapon either OUT or NOT OUT like every other game on the planet. (just automatically lowers when you run like any other game) And slightly speed up weapon draw speeds so that players can more readily just press 1 or 2 to take out their weapons. I actually like the idea of having a weapon up or down. It makes you able to decide if player is/might be friendly or not. And prevents you from shooting accidentally, //Completely remove and re-write the god awful running system (double tap forward/toggleC/toggleSHift,toggle control) Like you can't be serious.. You would honestly have better luck controlling a real life robot. Just simply make it SHIFT to run and maybe ctrl to walk. And instead of awkwardly double tapping buttons to toggle, just add a checkbox option in the menu labeled "Toggle sprint, or toggle crouch" just like any other game on the planet. This would free up some confusion. When I'm in the wild, I prefer to have a toggle run, but when I'm in cities and I know there are players around, I prefer to have toggle walk in order to have my gun up and be quieter. I can't imagine going to settings every time to change it. Dynamic stances should stay the way they are now. //Completely remove the awkward stiff upright forced-walking animation that occurs when walking up a slight incline and replace it with a slow jog. (nobody in real life walks up a hill like that.. They would naturally hunch forward if anything..And especially if zombies are behind them they would not walk upright up the hill) Here I can agree with you. I'm pretty pissed with being forced to walk up the hill slowly, even though it's very low. //And why does it take a thousand button pressed to go from prone to crouch to standing back up again? Heres an idea, make crouch and stand up the same damn key like every other game on earth. And listen to this CRAZY idea!! Maybe for you it takes thousand button pressed. I have absolutely no problem with changing stances so I imagine you might be slightly off with your kinetic abilities. //When a player is prone they should be able to press SPACEBAR to stand up in one complete motion without the painful and sluggish crouch midstep.. and if they don't want to stand up in one complete motion guess what! They should be able to just press the crouch key to go back up to crouch!! CRAZYYYYY i know!! I guess animation speed could vary depending on how much stuff you're carrying. But don't think it's possible to go from prone to straight with a smooth motion having 7kg backpack and a rifle. //Remove all awkward traces of military simulator.. At least TRY and pretend its a standalone game and not just arma2..Get rid of that stupid O menu to see which players are in the server and just replace it with a simple user friendly TAB menu to see a players list and pings. And ditch the ugly arma options menu and downright frightening keybind menu.. And even in video options it still says things like "All arma2 trees and grass".. FACEPALM. Remember it's an alpha version, so they mainly work on games mechanic. Menu's layout is a secondary matter. And still, a moderately intelligent monkey is probably able to use it, so... //Completely remove the asinine "I feel like having a drink" or "My stomach grows violently" notifications. And add a real system of how much health, food, water we need. And in real life, you have a status bar that tells you how much you need to eat? No. You only have feelings. Plus, as far as I remember, Dean stated that some kind of visual indicators are coming. //Fix the retarded unconscious system (i put 8 magnum rounds in a knocked out guys skull and he wakes up and punches me in back of head 5 minutes later) That indeed needs to be fixed. //Completely remove the 100% "RUINED" items by a zombie simply punching my backpack one-time. (how can one zombie smack ruin 32 .45 acp rounds?? This too I agree. Items damaging system needs some serious changes. //At least add an animation for broken leg instead of forcing the user to go prone..Sometiems i wonder how is this even a standalone game? Everything i see is just mod mod mod. I’m sure this will come with time. Remember once again, it’s an early alpha. Don’t expect everything to work as it should. //Add a rotate button to rotate inventory items in bag. //Hold shift to select multiple items in inventory at once There are some discussions and suggestions for inventory systems, check them out. And I don’t see a reason for having a multi-select tool. I mean what, you want to grab 5 cans of beans at once? What hands do you have? //Add a map or at least make them more readily available. I agree that maps should be complete, but it should not be given from the start. However there was a good suggestion recently to put maps on bus stops and train stations. //Make all doors open inward as to not push the players Doors open in various directions in real life. It should be possible however to reach them from a further distance, because now it’s hard to aim at doors or gates. //Add spawns inland Since all the mid- and high-tier loot is inland, having spawn points there would be odd. //Add back the original dayz mod ambient background music Music will come with time, I’m sure of that. //Fix the dumbass fall damage system. That’s right, needs fixing. I broke my leg recently after falling from like 2 meters. //Make an effort to add real loot instead of just clothes (game looks like a VOGUE fashion show simulator) You obviously had some bad luck finding stuff, because I often find myself looking for clothes and can’t find any. There is a wide range of loot and I’m sure there will be more. //Make binoculars readily available. This and range finders. //Fix weapon reload/empty ammo system.. If you have ammo that fits a gun you should be able to just use it all without having to maticulously stop and manually drag it into your rifle or put them into a clip.. It results in some real panic/struggle when you are mid-pvp and have to stop and open your inventory to instruct your character to put bullets in a speedloader.. He should already know that needs to be done. This I cannot agree again. I understand it may be hard to load your weapon in pvp situations, but that’s why you should have more than one speedloader/magazine. And it’s supposed to be stressful, when you need to quickly reload. Don’t try to make an arcade game out of it. --- All in all, you’ve made some good points today, but generally you seem to be grumbling about game being too hard when it’s supposed to be hard. It’s not a casual FPS game for everyone. It’s a hardcore game for people who want to focus on their gameplay. And lastly, I’d suggest changing your tone, because you’re a kind of person that bought and early-access alpha version, having being warned that it’s not ready and is released primarily for testing, and yet you shout as if you expected a 100% working product.

    No firearms.

    Go play Rust.
  9. Yo, I just wanted to say that these guys are amazing, they spent lots of time today to gather supplies and help my and my buddy with our broken limbs. Thanks :)

    Team Speak

Here's my simple answer to all the "OMFG TS is metagaming and it's unrealistic" posts. DayZ is a Mutha Fuckin Video Game! It's not real life, it's a game that I want to play and enjoy with my buddies.. Don't try to make 100% realism happen.. it will never happen. Plus, you would be surprised with how often we're 50m apart and still can't find each other or name any particular landmark to meet.

    New Features?

Carrying a backpack, a rifle and 7-8kg of supplies as well as a tactical vest that somehow limits movement of your arms? Good luck.

Clothing Pockets (Separate the inventory slots!)

in fact, once the images were shown, I kinda liked he idea even more. But how about adding this for hardcore servers and let regulars have some casual gameplay?
  14. yogi92

Clothing Pockets (Separate the inventory slots!)

This idea seems somehow interesting. However separating slots in clothing is slightly too much I guess. What I would do instead, is making a number of hotbar slots dependent of your clothing. Say, with trousers you get in the beginning, you get only 2 slots, and then better trousers/jackets/vests would grant you +1 or +2 slots. Let's say that best clothing would give as much as 5 slots and rest would depend on your backpack. What do you think about that?

    Avoid Combat Logging

You're trying to hard by thinking of different systems to stop combat logging. What we have right now (30 or something seconds of your character staying in-game is fine, although I'd prefer a 30 seconds timer but being active, so in danger you can cancel it. + in-game character staying variant in case of crashes, alt+f4 etc). As to you logging in idea, it's terrible for a very simple reason. You logged out on an airfield, you log in outside and you immediately know that someone is there. That's unacceptable. What we have right now is fine, could use some minor tweaking but we're fine.
  16. yogi92

    Base building.

I see what you mean. The thing is, that map (I think) is pretty much one giant object, with some dynamic parts like doors. If you want to remove fences or stuff, you would need to "extract" them from the static map and turn them into dynamic, separate objects. And this requires hardware performance.
  17. yogi92

    Base building.

It won't work because (as long as I understood you) you would like to change elements of the map. Which means map should change from being static to dynamic. Which means more computing power is necessary to keep track of what is where and in what state
  18. yogi92

    New Features?

I guess trees and buildings is way too much, but just climbing steps and ledges (say, not higher than your chest) would be fine.
  19. yogi92

A must have building in DayZ Standalone.

As said, there is a police station in Svetlojarsk. It doesn't spawn anything as far as I remember, it's a yellowish building with two entrances and plenty of rooms + a tower. And it has several wrecked cop cars parked in front which you can open.

    DayZ clothes viewer

Hello folks, I'll put it plain and simple. Customization is a hell of a drug. I was wondering if there is any website or application, that allows you to choose from all available clothes and items in Dayz and see what your character would look like? Waiting for answers. May the fully customizable force be with you!
  21. yogi92

    DayZ clothes viewer

It doesn't need to be server-sided. It might be an offline app that just renders a dayz survivor model and different clothes. I figured out that since models of different items are leaking out every now and then, there is a way to extract them.

    TENTS

    1. Learn to post in relevant board sections 2. Learn to use SEARCH option, because tents has been suggested and discussed many times already. 3. Yes, tents should be implemented
  23. I'd suggest barns (ones with red roofs and stairs/ramps inside), office buildings (check staircases and the highest roof) and firestations.

Combat Log?! (not what your thinking)

The thing is, you will know from what distance (and with what weapon) you were sniped, which can be a clue for your buddies.

    Timer for respawn

You're absolutely right, glitch deaths need to be fixed ASAP. On the other hand however, I don't believe you can have 3 glitch deaths within an hour, unless you really try to and know how :)
